When I left Carl’s office, Levi was already gone but I wasn’t bothered.Full novel: REWRITING FATE: There is no such thing as soulmates — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

I have already made up my mind that he would be my target and therefore no matter where he goes, I will find him.

I had placed a tracking device behind the control wheel of his car and so I pulled out my phone from my trouser pocket and when I checked his location, I smiled.

My red car was already pulled up to the front of Carl’z Empire as my driver waited for me and I got in the back seat before he closed the door.

When he went around, got in and took the wheel, he asked, “Where to, ma’am?”

“The new fashioned bar.” I replied and he drove off.

*************††††**************

When I arrived, I realized it was not a grand building.

It was a duplex and it was clean but it didn’t feel like a place for someone of Levi’s standing.

When I got to the entrance, I was instantly stopped by a buff man who had a stoic expression.

He was clearly a skilled security from his outfit and stamina.

“This isn’t a place for straight people,” he declared and I frowned until it finally dawned on me when I realized the meaning behind the name; ‘The new fashioned bar.’

“And who said I am straight?

I am here for my girlfriend,” I firmly informed him.

“You don’t look it,” he insisted.

“Do you have any idea who I am?” I demanded.

“No, and I do not care,” he said.

“How much do you need?” I asked.

“We don’t do bribery here.

And since you say you’re not straight then what’s the password?” He inquired and I smiled as I asked him the question back while putting my powers to work.

“What is the password, buff guy?” I asked in a smooth voice and he responded with, “Pride in being opposite.”

I frowned but didn’t comment on it and he snapped out of the spell but didn’t realize he had given himself up.

“So?” He inquired while giving me a proud look.

“Pride in being opposite.” I responded and his eyes widened slightly in surprise.

“Now move aside,” I irritatedly said which he instantly did and I walked into a house of jazz playing in the background.

I was expecting a party but it felt like a place to relax and cool off your mind.

Everyone were in pairs with the same gender while sitting or dancing to the soft tone of the music and I looked around for one person.

“I’ll have scotch,” I ordered.

“Any addition?” He asked in a sultry voice and I shook my head as I admired him.

He had only an apron over his bare upper body like he was advertising himself.

Wait!

Is this a place for hook-ups?

When he brought back my order, I held his wrist, stopping him from going anywhere and he frowned at me but didn’t take offense.

“Have you seen a man this tall?” I demonstrated with my other hand while still describing him, “With black hair, sexy grey eyes and an athletic body you can die for?

He wore a-”

“Ah, yes, he’s our VIP member.

He’s up in his usual room but who are you to him?” He asked in suspicion.

“I’m his boyfriend,” I blurted out and he blinked in surprise.

“I’m a transgender,” I gave another lie to match my earlier declaration and he scanned me up and down in awe.

“This is the cleanest surgery I have ever seen.

Where did you get it done?” He curiously asked and leaned closer in interest while wiggling his eyebrows at me.

“I’ll tell you if you give me his room address.” I bargained and he narrowed his eyes in suspicion.

Without saying much, I took some cash from my suit jacket’s inner pocket and placed it on the table and he eyed it before looking around, then he gingerly wanted to take it but I slapped my hand over the other end and narrowed my eyes on him, making him flinch a bit.

“I may look like a woman but you have no idea who I used to be as a man.

So don’t play with me.” I warned him and he nodded in understanding.

Yet I didn’t let go until he gave me the room number, “12.”

“And if he’s not there, I’ll come back for you.” I warned while using my eyes to pass my message as I looked down his body to where his manhood was before dragging my eyes up his face.

He gulped and I bit my lower lip and smiled before touching my private part to make it seem like I had a manhood when in truth, I didn’t.

I gulped the scotch in one go and groaned aloud, making him flinch before I got down the stool and walked away.

Someone came over which I assumed was also a hook-up due to how she dressed to seduce.

“How can I be of help to you, big boss?” She drawled sexily and I smirked and leaned into her left ear and whispered a spell.

When I pulled away, she smiled and took my hand before leading me to a staircase heading up.

It took a while and when we got to the second floor, I cringed internally when I heard moans coming from inside each room.

Some were of girls and others of men and my heart began to race as I prayed earnestly not to find Levi hooking up with someone else.

“This is it,” the lady announced as she brought me to a door with the number ’12.’

I took some cash from my suit pocket and tipped her for her service but before she walked away, she leaned in and pecked me on the left cheek, leaving me wide eyed.

Once she walked away, I quickly cleaned her lipstick off my check in irritation before knocking on the door.

Without delay, I twisted the door handle and pushed the door open and it gave way.

I poked my head in first and there he was, seated on the bed with his shirt completely taken off, but my eyes didn’t stop there.

Someone was kneeling in-between his legs and….

My eyes widened as I gulped in dread.

And what made everything painful was the fact that Levi was now looking directly at me.

Strands of his hair rested against his forehead and his lips were parted slightly while his eyes were heavily intoxicated by whatever the man was doing to his manhood.

It felt like I couldn’t breathe as I watched what unfolded before my eyes.

One of his hands was resting behind the guy’s head as he buried his fingers in his hair to show how affected he was by what the hook-up guy was doing.

When I looked back at Levi’s face, his breathing had gone shallow and his body was shivering.

Without saying a word, I withdrew myself and closed the door behind me.

Then I stood by it as I leaned my back against the wall in the passage filled with disturbing screams, groans and shouts of pleasure.

I stared into space as one question came to mind.

‘Is this worth it?’

But I couldn’t answer.

I didn’t want to repeat this circle of dying when I am 25 years old and since I have searched for my soulmate and found none, my spirit led me here.

To the West and to Carl who I thought was the one only for me to discover it was his boyfriend, Levi.

The one I dislike the most.

Truly, soulmates don’t exist.

Sighing, I walked back downstairs and all the way to the bar where the bartender from earlier was.

I didn’t bother looking at him as I sat on one of the stools and ordered for another drink.

“Welcome to our world, where we live as we want and don’t entirely commit,” he sympathetically said to me as he dropped my drink in front of me.

I took my time and drank everything before taking out my phone to make a call.

And as if he was expecting it, he answered.

“Hello, Jenna.”

“Did you sponsor your son’s business the way Carl’s father did?” I curiously asked while staring into the distance with uncaring eyes.

“Yes,” he answered.

“Take what you own out of his business and ensure other business partners take their shares out as well.” I declared.

“Why?” He demanded.

“If you want him to dance to our tune, then take everything so he has nothing to fall back on, except us.” I coldly explained.
