~{JENNA’S POV}~
*
“Break up with him,” I whispered under my breath as my eyes firmly held Levi’s.
I was a witch after all but the only issue is that every time my sisters and I reincarnate, our powers dwindle.
Levi frowned at me and instead of coming under my spell, he placed his hand around Carl’s waist and pulled him closer, leaving me riled up.
WHY WASN’T IT WORKING ON HIM?
This was a first in history and it surprised me greatly, leaving me wide eyed.
When I looked at Carl who was now looking at me, I tried to control him but it felt like he was immune to it and that left me bewildered.
“I don’t like her, Carl.
She is clearly up to something,” Levi openly declared and I nearly scoffed.
“I feel she is the best fit for the job, darling.
Something about her stands out.” Carl said otherwise as he took his phone and made a call.
“Lily love, kindly get Jenna new clothes as the one she is wearing is wet.” He instructed the moment the person answered and I sighed.
If they loved Lily so much why didn’t he just make her his PA?
When he went off the call, he gestured to me to have a seat but I refused.
“I’d rather stand.
Thank you.”
He narrowed his eyes on me but didn’t press on.
“May I know where my desk will be, sir?” I politely asked because I wanted to leave them for a moment to reflect on everything that had happened while waiting for Lily.
He gave me an expressionless face before saying, “Here.”
For a moment it didn’t register well until Levi said, “Here?”
Meaning I heard correctly
“Yes, here.
We will be working closely, therefore I want you where I can see you,” he nonchalantly said while gently caressing Levi’s back and shoulders, making me grit my teeth.
Were they rubbing their love in my face?
This sucks!
“I fired her, Carl.
She is not supposed to work here.
She clearly told me she is into you and said you had poor taste in men for choosing me, so why do you still want her here after she disrespected me?” He angrily demanded and Carl’s eyes stayed on me as he answered.
“Business is business, Levi.
It is better to have someone who is open-minded than a withdrawn person.
I was never looking for someone to always bob his head and say ‘yes sir’ to my every instruction but to speak his or her mind when necessary.”
As those words left his mouth, my mood softened and I felt like I had won him over, but-
“You have nothing to worry about, darling.
I love you and she is a woman which won’t work.” He further added and I narrowed my eyes.
“We shall see about that, Carl.” I made a mental note as I gave a subtle smile.
When I looked at Levi, he was boiling in rage and I winked at him which riled him up yet it felt like he was trying to hold back as he gritted his teeth.
A knock came at the door and in came Lily after Carl’s permission.
“Please follow Lily.
Once you change into something warm and dry, let us talk.” Carl calmly said and I began to wonder what he wanted to tell me.
*************††††**************
As Lily led me to the changing room, I decided to engage her in a conversation.
“Lily love.”
The moment I called her that, my eyes widened and so did hers because it was so sudden and came out naturally.
Was Carl beginning to influence me instead of the other way round?
“Yes, Jenna?” She answered without bothering to correct me.
“How long has Mr Carl been seeing Mr Levi?” I curiously asked so I could know where to start.
My motive is simple.
I shall end their relationship at all costs even if it means lying against Levi to hurt Carl.
They just have to end.
“I think a few years now,” she answered.
“That’s not a problem since they are not married, so I have a chance,” I blurted out.
“What are you planning, Jenna?
Are you really here to work?” She asked in surprise and concern.
“I am here to woo Mr Carl.
That is my job,” I courageously informed her and she gasped in horror and looked around like she was scared of someone finding out.
“May I advise you?” She asked.
“Sure but I won’t adhere to it,” I bluntly replied.
“Levi will ruin you.
As for wooing Carl, that’s a delusion you need to snap out of.
He is obviously gay right from childhood and cannot be otherwise.” She warned while I changed into the clothes she brought for me.
“Don’t be so sure, Lily.” I confidently told her and she sighed in exhaustion.
When I was done wearing the dress which held me perfectly well, I headed back to the office.
I forgot to knock and as I opened the door, my eyes went incredibly wide as my hand stayed on the door handle as I witnessed something devastating.
They were kissing each other fiercely on the couch in his office.
I couldn’t move
I couldn’t think
I couldn’t breathe
That’s my man Levi is kissing that way!
The man I have chosen.
When they sensed my presence, they stopped and Levi groaned before snapping out, “Don’t you have manners?”
From being shocked, my eyebrows drew closer in a frown and I retorted.
“Is this the place to do it?”
I was too pissed to control my tongue and I cared less of what Levi would do.
“See how she disrespects me, Carl,” Levi reported to Carl and I narrowed my eyes at them.
“Let me have a word with her, Levi.” Carl said and Levi nodded.
“Sure.” He permitted but didn’t make an effort to leave.
“I need you to step out for a moment, love.” Carl proceeded to say as he caressed Levi’s face like he was trying to appease a god.
I rolled my eyes at them but refused to look away.
Yet one thing I noticed which I was happy about was the fact that Carl seemed more dominant.
Levi was dominant but he was letting his emotions take over while Carl was more levelheaded and that made me proud of him.
They spoke with their eyes and Carl whispered something into Levi’s ears before he begrudgingly stood up and walked up to the door where I stood.
I quietly made way for him but instead of stepping out he leaned into me and whispered these words to my ears, “Prepare to have your reputation ruined.”
Yet I smiled and responded with, “Prepare to lose your boyfriend.”
But instead of responding, he gave a dark laugh and stepped out before I shut the door behind him.
When we were finally alone, I went to sit on the opposite chair facing Carl who was calmly observing me.
The top buttons were undone and I could see a little of his chest, making me sigh.
His almond eyes lazily held mine and not once did he look down at my body.
“I have a proposal for you, Jenna,” he began speaking and I became focused.
“I am listening.” I showed interest and he continued.
“Do you mind settling for a gay man?
I will pay you handsomely and it will be in contract.” He proposed and my eyes went wide in disbelief.
