Ye Qinfan was left speechless, his earlier arrogance about his shoes completely vanished.

Bai Shijin’s dark eyes were as deep as ink, his expression cold as if washed by freezing rain. He asked word by word, “Ye Qinfan, is this what you meant by saying you would change?”

“What does it have to do with you? What does it have to do with you!” Ye Qinfan could not stand the tone of reproach in Bai Shijin’s voice. He was furious and pointed at Bai Shijin’s forehead. “Bai Shijin, you engrave this in your bones! Mu Nian is my person. He loves me, and no matter what I do wrong, he will forgive me!”

“Since you are so confident, dare you tell Mu Nian about your cheating?”

Ye Qinfan was suddenly rendered speechless.

“You know very well that Mu Nian will break up with you if he finds out, and it might even trigger his heart condition, but you still do it anyway!” Bai Shijin’s voice was agitated, his chest heaving. “You enjoy the sweetness of this relationship, yet you are unwilling to put in the slightest effort. You are a complete jerk, do you hear me, Ye Qinfan? You are a jerk.”

After saying this, Bai Shijin could no longer bear to stay in the same room as Ye Qinfan. He grabbed his things and left the dormitory.

He went to a motorcycle rental shop under the Duan Group and rode off on a bike. After speeding on a road suitable for racing for an hour, he checked his watch.

The sky was turning dark. Mu Nian should be on his way home by now.

Guided by some inexplicable impulse, Bai Shijin rode toward Mu Nian’s home, relying on his memory.

There was a bright street lamp downstairs at the apartment complex. Bai Shijin parked under the light, took off his helmet, and sat sideways on the motorcycle.

He wore a black leather jacket, and his hair was slightly messy, tousled by the night breeze. His refined, cool features cast a beautiful shadow under the halo of light.

Bai Shijin felt his pocket and found a pack of cigarettes.

He was not addicted to smoking; he just occasionally took one out to relieve his emotions when his longing for Mu Nian made his breathing chaotic.

He had just seen Mu Nian today, so logically, he should not be missing him this much, but Bai Shijin still pulled one out and put it in his mouth.

With a flame, it lit in two seconds. Wisps of smoke drifted in front of his face, and Bai Shijin closed his eyes, enjoying the brief moment of comfort.

Mu Nian said that they had a deep bond. Bai Shijin did not believe it. A true, deep bond was love at first sight, two hearts beating at the same frequency, and being each other’s one and only from start to finish.

He and Mu Nian, at most, it could be called an acquaintance.

Bai Shijin was still searching for the words when a BMW stopped in front of him, its headlights making him even more visible.

He squinted, and after seeing the license plate number, he immediately took the cigarette out of his mouth and crushed it against the motorcycle.

The owner of the BMW got out and leaned against the car door with a half-smile. “What is wrong? You do not want me to see you looking dejected? Keep smoking.”

Bai Shijin smiled helplessly. “Just smoking for fun. I am not very good at it.”

“You looked quite professional.” Mu Nian walked slowly toward him and held out his hand. “Give it to me.”

Bai Shijin felt as if he were bewitched by Mu Nian; he could do nothing but follow the command. He obediently handed over the pack of cigarettes and placed it in Mu Nian’s palm.

Mu Nian tugged at his leather jacket, leaned against the motorcycle with him, and pulled out a cigarette with his lips.

Bai Shijin was about to pull out a lighter to light it for him, but Mu Nian did not give him the chance. He took out a lighter from his own pocket, skillfully blocked the wind, tilted his head, and took a deep drag.

Bai Shijin turned his head to look at him and suddenly asked, “Did you not say you did not have a lighter?”

“Hmm?” Mu Nian held the cigarette between his fingers, looking confused. “What?”

Bai Shijin paused. He had almost forgotten. That was something only Not a Valley and Gone With the Years would understand.

He twitched the corner of his mouth and shook his head.

Mu Nian could tell that Bai Shijin was in a bad mood and asked in the tone of an older brother, “It is so late, did you come to find me?”

“By coincidence, I just happened to stop here.”

“Is that so? Then it is really a coincidence that you stopped exactly downstairs at my place.” Mu Nian did not expose his lie and touched the motorcycle they were sitting on.

“Very cool. It is good to be young.”

“You sound like you are over fifty.” Bai Shijin threw the helmet to Mu Nian. “Want to try? I will give you a ride.”

Mu Nian was tempted. After taking the helmet, he remembered something and said with a bitter smile, “Are you trying to murder me? Did you forget I have a heart condition?”

“Then I will go slow.”

Mu Nian was moved by Bai Shijin’s bright, shining eyes. Although he felt it was very childish, he put on the helmet.

Bai Shijin helped Mu Nian fasten it and started the motorcycle.

After Mu Nian sat down properly, he did not know where to put his hands.

Seeing this, Bai Shijin put on his black leather gloves, took Mu Nian’s wrists, and placed them on his abdomen. “Hold on tight.”

Mu Nian felt nervous immediately, thinking Bai Shijin was about to take off.

But when the bike started moving, the electric scooters passing by were faster than them.

Mu Nian’s nervousness vanished instantly, and he asked, “Is there any need to wear this helmet?”

“There is.”

Sitting in the back seat and watching the electric scooters zooming past, Mu Nian laughed until his stomach hurt. “Can you go any faster, driver?”

Bai Shijin accelerated slightly to appease him, but Mu Nian still did not even feel the wind.

It was like sitting in the back seat of a bicycle.

After one round, Mu Nian clearly did not feel satisfied, but he was still very happy, after all, it was his first experience.

He returned the helmet to Bai Shijin and bowed at a thirty-degree angle. “Thank you, driver Bai.”

“You are welcome.”

“Do you charge a fee?”

“You can give me a little tip.”

Mu Nian rummaged through his coat pocket and found a hair clip he used to secure fabric when cutting.

It was purchased by Su Yi and was very girly.

It was pink and tender, with a little bow on it.

Mu Nian tilted his head up and clipped the little clip onto the leather-clad man’s hair.

“There, a tip.”

Bai Shijin looked at his reflection in the motorcycle mirror. His bangs were clipped sideways, revealing his clean forehead, making him look very dull.

But he still had to maintain a smile. “Thank you, Boss Mu.”

The moonlight dispersed, and the wind wandered through the treetops not far away. Bai Shijin’s body felt slightly cold, so he pulled Mu Nian’s coat closer. “It is windy, go upstairs and get some rest soon.”

Mu Nian was stunned. He suddenly thought of Not a Valley.

If Not a Valley knew he was out in the wind right now, he would probably say something similar.

The Bai Shijin in front of him overlapped with the puppy wearing the green hat.

Having been netizens with Not a Valley for so long, he had never been curious about what Not a Valley looked like. A boy so gentle could not possibly be ugly.

The wind grew stronger, bringing a rich scent with it. Mu Nian checked the time on his phone; at this hour, Bai Shijin would not be able to return to his dorm.

He asked, “Where are you staying tonight?”

Bai Shijin did not even think. “I am going back to the dorm.”

“Forget it. The dorm doors are long closed.”

Bai Shijin feigned lifting his watch, revealing a subtle expression because it was already this late, and said, “Do not worry about me. I will not end up on the street. Go upstairs quickly.”

Mu Nian gazed at Bai Shijin for a long time, the hazy street light melting into his eyes. “Let us go. I will let you stay one more night.”
