Going completely rigid under his stare Aurora gulped shifting backward as she tried to muster the courage to continue what she had already started.

"Why do you think I am not human?" he asked still staring down at her small frame with his hand tucked inside his pocket.

She lifted her finger pointing at his eyes. "I saw them change when you ran out of the room."Full novel: Saint Marchetti Feral Obsession — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Instead of saying a word he smiled.

"Light can change the color of the iris sometimes if you are truly a genetics student."

"How the hell did you know that I am a genetics student?" Aurora queried gawking at his well chiseled jawline.

"I did my homework." He replied ready to leave the room.

"Why did you kidnap me? Why did you bring me here? Why are you treating me like a guest instead of a prisoner? Why do you want me to be your wife?" She bombarded him with questions the tears that had stopped now flowing even more.

He remained quiet. His scent filled her nostrils making her step backward because of her hatred for mint. Her mouth curled up in disgust as though she was about to throw up.

"The marriage is necessary for the contract to take place." He answered still watching her break under his gaze.

"What contract?" She inquired her hands fidgeting behind her back as tears spilled from her eyes.

He picked up the document from the bed and handed it to her.

"Sign there and there will not be any other problem." He bolted out the door leaving her with her own choice.

"Father agreed to this." She muttered to herself her tears making her voice crack. "I will never marry you. I do not even love you. You kidnapped me and now you are using my father’s decision to control me. I will never forgive you for ruining my life." she screamed.

"You do not have to. It is either you do it or watch your father eat from a servant’s plate." Saint answered behind the door making her go quiet immediately not expecting him to still be standing there.

After more than thirty minutes of reading through every single page of the document believing Saint would probably have left, she slowly got up placing the document under the bed then tiptoed to the window trying to peep through but instead her eyes met two bulky guards. She ran towards the door slowly twisting the knob. That was when she realized he had left it open. Probably he had forgotten to lock the door since they always did that. She pushed the door slightly and squeezed her small figure through the small space she had made.

Aurora tiptoed into the hallway scanning every corner but there were no guards. Just when she was about to make a turn two guards walked out from the corner their faces empty of any smile, jaws sharp like blades. A small gun different from the ones the others used hung loosely tucked into their wristbands. She stopped right in her tracks her hands gripping the hem of the dress Nina had prepared for her earlier.

They moved behind her. Expecting them to grab her by the arms and drag her back to the room she took a step forward but instead they moved with her. She ran down the stairs reaching the living room where she saw Nina dusting the couch. Nina stopped the moment she saw Aurora running down the stairs with the two guards trailing behind her.

Totally ignoring Nina Aurora dashed out through the open door running towards the gate. Her legs pumped hard as if they might almost hit the back of her head. Unaware guards had already surrounded her she fought with the locked gate hitting it with her hands until they formed several cuts.

The guards pulled her by her arms and one threw her over his shoulder marching back into the mansion while Aurora hit his back kicking her legs against his firm grip.

The guard dropped her on the floor adjusting his well tailored black suit. She ran again towards the door but before she could get out two guards pushed the heavy metal door shut.

Tiredly she climbed the stairs her bruised hands wrapping around the banister making her whine in pain. She was too tired to even acknowledge the guards and Nina who was carrying another tray with bandages and ointment cream.

At first he had thought she saw the fur hidden under his skin not until she spoke about his eyes. He smiled relief washing over him as he realized she had not seen anything but only noticed the color of his irises change.

Her questions were beginning to get on his nerves so he walked out of the door to the kitchen to make himself something to eat.

He poured oil into the electric cooker and was about to add the vegetables when Dax walked in behind him grabbing a bottle of water.

"Yesterday it was the same thing and today again you are still using the electric cooker. Why do you not just use..." Dax started but was immediately cut off by Saint who was totally uninterested in his advice and constant nagging.

"Can we talk about this another day." Saint said as he stirred the vegetables in the pan until he was satisfied with how they looked then served them on a plate.

"I saw her tiptoeing down the hallway." Dax informed him as he walked out of the kitchen.

"Tell the guards not to let her leave the mansion and I do not want them dragging her by her hair or arms." He ordered and Dax simply nodded.

Aurora saw Dr Quinn walking down the stairs carrying a first aid box while his hands were covered in tattoos.

"They sure do like tattoos." She thought as she scoffed but the first aid box caught her attention so she stepped right in front of him making the man raise his brows in confusion.

"You are a doctor right?" She asked her eyes fixed on the first aid box.

Dr Quinn remained silent studying her small frame from her hair like storm clouds down to her toes. Aurora curled her toes realizing she had run out of the mansion barefoot.

When she noticed he was not going to answer which seemed obvious anyway she bit down on her lower lip pulling it between her teeth.

"Is he sick?" She asked nervously.

"Who?" Dr Quinn asked after a long pause.

"The tall man with short curly black hair and tattooed chest who kidnapped me and is lean but muscular." She described raising her hand high above her head to show how tall he was.

"Some things are better left alone." He replied as he stepped past her leaving Aurora full of unanswered questions.
