That was so awkward... Going to the bathroom as a female was a little weird, definitely doesn't feel the same... But the tail just gets in the way SO, GODDAMN, MUCH. I had to adjust multiple times before I was able to get into a comfortable position. Even then, it was extremely hard to keep focused with my tail grazing things. I walk back out to Leo, definitely not embarrassed as I use the wall as support.

"Was that as weird for you as it was the first time for me?" Leo asks.

"Um... I don't know, I was more worried about my tail to care I think..."Full novel: Scales of my Other Self — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Oh..." Leo seems to be imagining what it was like, I feel a little weird about that because I don't know if they are imaging what it would be like if they had a tail in that situation... Or imagining ME in that situation, even though he was originally female... He shakes his head, a small amount of blush on his cheeks, making me not want to know the answer to my question.

"You ready to head back into the other room?" He asks.

"Yeah."

He supports me as we walk back out, getting a few confused glances. Reggie, of course, has to try and make a joke out of it.

"Did you have to do it so hard she could barely walk?" He chuckles.

Leo lets out a sigh, "Not like you would be able to." My heart skips a beat as he drops me off at the couch, the wolves finally deciding its time to come into the main room and lay down near me. Oh, so now you wanna joke around... I look around the room, some people are giving me some quick glances and I don't know whether it's because of the wolves or what Leo said, I let out a sigh.

Leo looks around the room and notices the glances.

"Ah, that was a joke by the way, she has had troubles with her balance since she became her character due to the height difference." He shrugs and starts to walk out of the room. "I will get the attendants to make some food for us." He says as he closes the door behind him.

The male tank looks over to me, "Was what he said true?"

"Even if we did fuck, I wouldn't say that we did, but yes, I have had balance issues because of the height difference, it was much worse yesterday."

"Yeah, she could barely stand up even with support before, it seems much better today." Reggie adds, thankfully.

"What was your irl height?" The male tank asks.

"5'10, my character height is 7'3."

"Man, that's a huge change, my height was only a difference of a few inches. It was hard enough to figure out where my feet were, I can't even imagine how you feel."

"Like I have been placed on stilts with no practice and a 20 pound living backpack held 2 feet off my lower back." I flick my tail.

"Right, the tail probably doesn't help."

"How does the tail feel for you?" The feline cleric asks.

"Uhm... It kind of feels like another, more flexible limb. Touching it feels really weird, and whenever it touches something it is slightly uncomfortable."

"Can I feel it?" The cleric asks.

"Um... Sorry, I would rather not have someone else touch my tail, Leo asked to touch it yesterday and it made me really uncomfortable when he did... Oh, shit, I did let say he could, I just didn't expect it to feel so weird so I recoiled away."

"Oh, I'm sorry I asked, I would feel weird with someone touching my tail too, I should have thought about that..." He blushes a little.

"So how does the tail feel for you?" I ask.

"It's pretty close to how you describe it." He shrugs.

"Is your hearing better?"

"Oh, yes! It is a lot better than it was before!" Oh shit, did he hear what we were talking about in the other room? "It's really cool to be able to hear the small movements around me."

"Nice." I give a small smile.

Leo walks back into the room, "Alright, they will bring it up soon."

"What are you having them make?" I ask.

"Just a big platter of mixed foods, some meats, fish, cheeses, bread, and some greens. I don't really know what everyone likes so I had them prepare a variety."

I smirk, "So I just get more of your meat like yeste- *click* ow ow ow ow!" I hold my head, Leo quickly zipped over to me and tapped one of my horns, sending vibrations through my head and causing a pretty bad headache.

"No, bad, no horny!"

"Don't talk to me like I'm an animal!" That was for the joke earlier asshole! "And why did you have to hit one of my horns?!"

"I figured it would be a good way to discipline you." He taps his foot.

"That wouldn't be the only way to discipl- *click* owwowowowo!" He taps the other horn, causing more pain. "Really!? I can't have any fun with you can I- *click* owowwooow! What was that one for?!" I shrink back and protect my horns, giving him a sad face.

"At this point just stop talking!" He says staring at me.

I was just having some fun and making some jokes... ass, hole!

"Fine..."

"Anyway..." He turns to everyone else as they stare at what just happened. "*sigh* I am going to have to explain the whole 'meat' thing... aren't I?"

Everyone nods in unison.

"Fucking asshole." He turns to me. Says the dick who kept hitting my horns!

He explains what the joke was about, making Reggie burst into laughter.

"I didn't think Camaella would make jokes like that too! High five!" He walks over to me and offers a high five, I awkwardly take it as I have lost my fun spurt that I was on...

The food is brought up and is placed on a table. Everyone kind of flocks over and starts eating, I continue to sit in silence on the couch because I am still mad at Leo for hitting my horns so many times.

"Now that everyone is eating, how about I introduce everyone to Camaella?"

"Sure." The swordswoman says.

"Alright, this is Melina, a swordswoman." He points to the swordswoman, she smiles and gives a small wave. "Nice to meet you."

"This is Roana, a tank." He says, gesturing to the orc tank. "Hello." She nods.

"He would be Zorae, tank as well." He nods over at the human tank. "Yo." He smiles.

"The one eating all the fish is Nabe, he is a cleric." He says, pointing to the feline cleric. Way to play into the stereotype... He nods at me with a mouthful of fish.

"Inglis is the one you helped earlier with the spell, they are a mage." The elf blushes a little, "Hi."

"And you already know this dumbass, a ranger." He points to Reggie, who gives him a hurt look.

"You wound me, guild master!" He dramatically clutches his chest while taking a bite of a small sandwich he made.

"Would you like me to actually wound you?" Leo says while cracking his knuckles.

"Mope!" He says as he quickly backs away with a mouthful.

"*sigh*, and for everyone here, this is Camaella, she is a mage." He gestures to me, and I wave to the group. Still a little weird to be called she, but I was called it enough in-game so it's not that bad.

"Alright," Roana starts, "so we know that the message system works, are we planning on trying to get as much information as possible and spread it?"

I get up and start to walk over to the food.

"Yes, and we will see if anyone else has anything of use." Leo says, "We already know that money is not the same value as it was before."

"Camaella also figured out that magic works, and she can teach it if need be." Inglis says. I would rather not... I get to the food and start making a sandwich.

"Yeah, Camaella, can you try to write out a process to help people that are struggling?" Leo asks.

"I can try..." I say as I finish making the sandwich and start walking back to the couch.

"Good, we will all need to get some practice in with our abilities too."

"I think some basic sparring would be fine, would you be fine with healing us if we get injured?" Melina asks Nabe.

"Oh um... I can try..." He says.

I make it back to the couch and sit down, taking a bit out of my sandwich.

"Good idea, that should help Nabe practice his spells while we practice combat." Leo says, he then turns to me. "Would you be fine with helping out Nabe if he runs into issues?"

I swallow the food I had in my mouth, "Sure, I don't know how much help I will be though, because I don't know if a clerics spells are different."

"Alright, sounds like we have a plan for now, so everyone eat up and then we will head out and practice a little."

After we are all done eating, the rest of the party heads downstairs while Leo helps me walk down, the wolves following close behind. I put on some casual shoes that I had in my inventory. We head down the stairs and only get a few odd glances from the people, Leo keeps glaring at others, and is probably not making the rumors any better. We head outside and over to a small field close by, Melina apparently grabbed a chair.

"Here you go Camaella," She says, "it'll probably be more comfortable than sitting on the ground." She gives me a smile.

"Thanks." I say as Leo walks me over and sets me down, the wolves laying down behind me.

"Alright, everyone get ready, we will start in 15 minutes." Leo says, everyone goes silent as they start scrolling through their inventories. Inglis and Nabe drift over towards me, much to my surprise.

"Um, Camaella?" Nabe asks.

"Yes?"

"Could you um, could you explain to me how you cast spells?"

"Yeah, have you tried any yet?"

"No, I was a little worried about it..."

"Alright, what spells do you have?"

"I only have healing spells... The rest of the cleric spells didn't interest me..."

"That's fine, but practicing them is going to be a little hard I think..."

"Why?"

"You will probably need someone to heal first, unless your spells have changed from the game you probably need to target someone or an area with injured persons."

"Oh, so I... Can't do anything until someone is hurt..." His ear droop down... Cute...

I think for a second, but... If he needs someone that is hurt to heal them... then... I hold my arm over the edge of the chair, opening up my inventory and finding a knife. I take it out, flip the knife out of icepick grip, and make a small cut in my forearm. Hmm, doesn't hurt as much as I thought it would. I look at the wound curiously.

Nabe and Inglis gasp at it making me jump and look up at them. "Camaella!?" Nabe yells as he quickly holds my arm to get a better look, I have to quickly put the knife away as he is getting uncomfortably close to it. The others rush over quickly after hearing his yell.

"What happened?" Zorae asks.

"Camaella just cut herself out of nowhere!" Inglis says.

"It's not that big of a-" I try explain before I am cut off.

"The hell were you thinking?!" Leo asks.

"I was about to tell you... *sigh*, I don't think Nabe can practice without a target, it's really not that big of a deal." I shrug, the pain is already fading and the blood has almost completely stopped. "Nabe, you might want to try to heal me before my own healing beats you to it." I smile to him.

"Um, right... Um..." He closes his eyes, I can feel his hands shaking and he seems very distracted.

I let out a small sigh, "Nabe?" He looks up to me. "It's already healed, we will have to try on a different injury." I pull my arm back from him as he looks down at the grass. I take back out the knife, Leo quickly grabbing my wrist. Making me look up to him confused and the wolves to hop up and start growling at him.

"What do you think you are doing?" He asks, seemingly angry.

"Creating a target for Nabe to practice?"

"Guys... Please, leave me alone with Camaella for a minute..." Leo says, and they all quickly get away from us. What the hell have you done to them?!

"Leo, it's really not-"

"Have you gone insane!?" Leo yells, making me shrink back.

"Of course not, I-"

"Did you hurt yourself in real life too?!" His grip tightens making me wince, I drop the knife in pain, he grabs it and pulls it away from me. The wolves even start to get closer but I quickly gesture to them that I will be fine... I think.

"No, Leo, really I-"

"Has becoming your game character given you some sort of false sense of immortality?!"

"What!? No, I ju-"

"Why did you think hurting yourself was a good idea?!"

"Leo... your grip, loosen up a lit-"

"Promise me..." He takes a deep breath, "Promise me you wont hurt yourself again."

"I... I promise."

He releases my wrist, I pull it close to me and hold it to make sure it isn't broken, luckily, it isn't. Leo gives me back the knife and walks away from me, the others looking on in concern. The wolves quickly check on me and I assure them that I will be alright. I put the knife back in my inventory, checking my wrist once more before I pull myself completely onto the chair. Why was he so mad...

Nabe and Inglis walk back over, "Are you okay Camaella?" Nabe asks.

I nod. My wrist still hurts a little, but it'll heal soon...

"Are you sure?" Inglis asks.

I nod again. I'll be fine...

"Does your wrist hurt?" Nabe asks, moving in front of me.

There is no point in lying, I have been holding my wrist this whole time... I nod.

"Let me try to heal it."

I hold out my arm to him, looking to the side as I just don't want to see anyone right now. He holds my arm, his hands steady this time. A few moments later and warm glow encapsulates my wrist, and after a few more seconds, the pain fades completely and the glow fades. I move my wrist a little bit and then look over to Nabe, "Thanks, good job."

"Oh, n-no problem."
