Chapter 13: The Solomon Codex: Breathing Art of the Eternal Throne

school of battles

The old man chuckled lightly. "I’ll do you one better.

Since you already have the king Aura, you’d be better fit to train this."

He waved a hand and a scroll flew on its own according to Ohta.

"The books in the library cannot be sold. Only borrowed." The old man gestured for money.

Ohta removed 5 KP from his pocket and handed it over.

The man nodded. "Nice doing business with you."

Ohta nodded and took the scroll with him.

He thought of exploring other parts of the System, but frowned at it.

Right now, his curiosity was arrested by the scroll in his hand.

He really had to know if it was real, or he was just suffering from delusions.

His counsciousness was pulled back into reality.

He was still in his room, on his bed.

However, the scroll was in his hand.

Quickly, he opened it.

The Solomon Codex.

Ohta remembered seeing this particular name on the walls of the pyramid before his rebirth into this world.

King Solomon The Wise.

Then again, considering the kind of legendary figure he was, it was not surprising that he had written martial techniques.

Rumors had it that he was such a great man. Great enough to command and control demons.

That was a feat that even the current Heaven Supreme Emperor could not achieve.

Ohta opened the scroll and read the words.

Message from the author:

Son of David, King of Kings, Wielder of the Sovereign Flame.

So you got your hands on my Aura Martial technique. You sneaky thief. I congratulate you for such an achievement. No matter the methods you used, they are your own. A wise ruler should have them all.

Now listen carefully. Power can be stolen, just as Wealth can be taken.

Armies can be destroyed.

But Authority —True Authority —Cannot be removed from the one the heavens have recognized.

I, Solomon, learned this not on the day I was crowned.

I learned it on the day I knelt.

Please, Remember that.

Now I will teach you to breathe...

Ohta thought of those words. Solomon was saying more than was on paper.

This scroll was probably a treasure at some point in history and there was bloodshed for it.

Solomon predicted that much, and not only congratulated the winner ahead of time, but also acknowledged their efforts.

No doubt, Solomon did not care whether these effort was good or bad. Only that it was useful and effective.

Results were all that mattered.

This was a man with foresight.

The Solomon Codex: Breathing Art of the Eternal Throne

It was just like that time when he first entered the pyramid. The words were clearly in a language that he should not understand, but he did.

Solomon continued.

"Inside every living thing is a fire. In most people this fire is small, barely a spark. It warms them and Keeps them alive.

But nothing more.

However, in warriors this fire grows through battle. Through blood. Through will.

But in a King —

This fire is different. It does not grow through battle alone.

It grows through understanding. Through loss. Through the weight of others on your shoulders.

Through choosing people over yourself when every instinct says otherwise.

This fire has a name, my friend.

The Sovereign Flame. Otherwiseknown as the king’s Aura.

It does not live in your chest where your mana core would normally be.

It lives much deeper. In your gut, where your oldest instincts sleep.

The place where fear is born, and courage is chosen.

Trust me, when you breathe correctly, you will feel and in turn, feed this flame.

And when the flame grows —The world will recognize you. Not because you demanded it.

But because it cannot help itself.

I know, I have seen it."

Ohta nodded at those words. He knew he had something different in him.

It had always been there, expressed through the Devil eyes he had.

It had really been hell for him to control, one time when he was much younger, he would have killed a maid of his grandmother had not been there to stop him.

It was a power that not even the Iga ninja clan knew how to control. All they knew was that it was a blessing from the Devil God, and that was enough.

But was it?

Ohta had to hold back again and again. This crazy insatiable hunger to bleed the world the moment the Devil’s eyes were excited.

Even Utada had to admit that his son had incredible control.

He had once praised Ohta before the elders, "If Ohta is fed an aphrodisiac, he can resist even the Goddess of lust if she appeared before him."

Utada did not give a lot of praises.

But in Ohta’s opinion, this much was expected from the one that climbed to the peck of power in the underground world.

Expected, did not mean enough.

Yet another reason he had to leave the Iga clan. It was such a violent place.

And a Ohta did not do well in the presence of blood.

Ohta sighed. "What’s wrong with me? I’m I feeling home sick?"

He shook his head, and continued reading the scroll.

"Before you begin, understand this.

You are not pulling mana into your body. In fact, forget everything you know about mana. You will never be needing it again. Not after this.

Mana is a river.

What you are reaching for is older than the river. Let’s just say that it is the rain that made the river possible.

Now, I need you to find somewhere still.

Sit if you can. Or stand if you must. The position matters less than the intention.

Close your eyes.

Now —

Breathe in through your nose.

Slow.

Slower than feels natural.

Count to eight in your head.

Do not rush.

Rulers do not rush."

As Ohta read the texts, he closed his eyes, allowing the words to resonate within him.

He was practicing the technique. It was not his first time trying out a martial technique, but mana was usually their core. This one was different."

"As you breathe in —" Solomon continued.

"...Do not think of pulling air into your lungs.

Think of pulling the weight of the room into your gut.

The pressure.

The silence.

The space between heartbeats.

Pull all of it downward.

Past your chest.

Past your stomach.

Into that deep place where your oldest self lives.

Here, you will want to hold it.

Count to four. Do not fight the discomfort.

The flame needs pressure to light.

A fire does not start from comfort.

Now exhale. Through your mouth.

Count to eight again.

Slow.

Deliberate.

As if you are releasing something you have carried for a long time.

Because you are. Now repeat this seven times.

On the seventh exhale —

You will feel it. Not heat exactly.

I call it the Recognition.

Like something in your gut waking up and remembering what it is.

That is the Ember.

Your Sovereign Flame."
