The bully on the left was fat, a head taller than Ohta. The one in the center was shorter than Ohta, and the one on the far right was a carbon copy of the one on the left.
They wore annoying smiles that spelt trouble.
Ohta moved to the side in other to let them pass, but the one on the left also side stepped.
"Oh, what do we have here? This junior does not have respect, blocking a ranking senior’s path.
You know, some have died for so little."
The bully threatened.
Ohta sighed in his head. ’I’m I really a magnet for trouble?’
He already knew the answer to that question. But was it that this people could not just let him be?
His eyes fell on the right hand of the bully in front of him. The fellow was secretly wearing a knuckle bracelet.
The other two were no different.
"This junior has no respect from his ranked seniors, blocking their path. And now, he cannot even now in apology." The bully in the center spoke loudly.
By now, the attention of all had been pulled this way.
These students were not dumb and could see that what was happening was simply bullying.
But public opinion and how it swayed with the right wind was a thing.
Ohta was a yellow rank as shown by the small umbrella pin on his shoulder.
These bullies were green rank. Ohta standing before their path was indeed disrespectful.
They were swaying the public to their favor. Ohta’s could sense a trap somewhere.
After all, if these guys wanted to hurt him, was it not easier to simply challenge him to a Life and Death battle?
And then the realization hit him like a bomb.
Life and Death battles had certain strict conditions.
Unless as a team battle, two or more people were not allowed to attack one person.
After winning his battle with Sofia Escobar, rumors of his capability must have spread.
But no matter how highly he was thought of, should three random seniors really be ganging up on him?
Ohta’s frown got deeper. ’Of course not.’ His mind that had gone through many battles to become king of the underworld was on full alert.
’This is a set up.’
His eyes darted left and right, searching.
All students. No one particularly stood out.
No. He was searching rage wrong way.
After all, he had been gifted a new skill when he entered the school.
Aura Tracker.
Ohta had gotten the skill, but did not know how to properly use it.
Not until he began practicing the Breathing Art of the Eternal Throne.
This thought him the fundamentals of how the King aura worked.
Aura was like the sun, it radiated energy.
From the individual to the world, and from the world, to the individual.
Secretly, Ohta breathed out, practicing the Breathing Art of the Eternal Throne.
Suddenly that yellow ball of flame within his body activated. And his energy radiated out of his body.
Avalon students were anything but normal, and at first a mix of energies came back to him.
And finally, he got something... foul.
At the far end of the hallway, hiding just behind the stairs.
A dark shadowy figure.
"Got you." Ohta muttered.
He was about to move, but a hand moved.
By reflex, Ohta dodged the incoming punch.
Boom.
He leaped back. Ohta felt a sting in his mouth.
Didn’t he dodge that attack?
Ohta looked closely.
The knuckle bracelet radiated a faint light.
It had mana.
It was a Mana treasure.
This was really troublesome.
Ohta touched his stinging mouth.
Blood.
"Shit." He cursed, turning and bowing his head and closing his eyes tight.
The murderous desire. It was coming back again.
In fact, it was even stronger than usual.
Was it because of the technique he practiced?
His consciousness peeped into that space in his body.
It was just as he suspected.
While the yellow ball of fire radiated, so did the ball of blood.
And it seemed like there was a kind of resonance between the two.
’It would seem that in growing and training my king aura, I also trained that devilish thing.’
In all honesty, he would not mind letting it loose and beating the shit out of these bullies.
But...
He raised his head a bit. At the far back, the enforcers that were tasked to watch over him were still there.
Releasing his devil eyes and the chaos it brought in such a place would spell trouble for him with the enforcers.
They would instantly seal his fate, saying that he was a member of the Azure Dragon Demonic cult.
But if he did not defend himself, these three idiots would not hesitate to step on him.
A KICK to his belly.
Ohta rolled on the ground. Still holding back firmly.
"Didn’t you hear what my brother said? Now and apologize to your rank seniors."
Yet more blood fell from Ohta’s mouth.
The bully had imbedded mana on that kick.
The little calm he had managed to achieve was ruined instantly.
’Screw this.’ He cursed internally, the chaos finally making impact in his mind. ’If it’s violence they want, then it is violence they’ll get.’
He rose.
But a figure stood between him and the bullies.
Neatly dressed. Confident back profile. Blue hair that could only have been acquired through the perfect mana altered genetics.
A white bandage to cover a forehead wound.
A long sword sheathed at his side.
And of course, a generic heroic pose.
Muttering came from the gathered students.
Ohta did not even need to see the face to know who it was.
Haruto Nobunaga.
But it was not just the shock of his arrival that got to Ohta.
It was the energy that came from him.
For a strange reason, it made the raging devil eyes inside him to calm down.
