Since it held the last memory of his late wife, how she was always keen on working there along with Tek at a good old age; was her very dream.

Ren said ** gramp Tek, you should have considered resting today.

Since I’m here now and the only way of thanking you for your hospitality is to work here and let you rest ** Ren spoke with much concern towards him.

Tek smiled at Ren for her kind thoughts towards him while he said ** you could say I’m in love with my coffee shop, which makes me always up every morning I wake up ** he said in his baritone voice.

He’s words caused Ren to shake her head at his persistent attitude of not resting. New chapters come out on g.com first.

Tek didn’t resist her advance anymore since he saw her good intentions towards him and he smiled while taking a seat and she began cleaning the tables in the shop, while he stared out the little glass installed in the door by the side.

Couple of minutes pass and Ted ran into the shop with a healthy glow in his face while he ran towards Tek, he said at loud ** gramps, gramps come look at this!!!

Ted came closer to him and said ** look at this gramps, it’s a flyer released this morning all over the city **.

Tek took the flyer in his hands while he took out his glasses from his breast pocket of his jacket and put it on.

Tek saw the words written in it # Guardian selection tournament # in which made him go through all the words written in the flyers and reminiscing over how long it had been since the last guardians selection tournament in the empire.

It was three years ago back then when he was part of the people who were all riled up in anticipation of making Skull as well as other people who participated from Jabe city to gain an immense support.

Since the only means of gaining a pass into the guild was either much power or influence, he chose what he knew he could do which was being Skull’s mentor back then.

Though he still wasn’t very clear about all the happenings and issues in the empire, still he prioritize his means on getting certain information which were from the right source.

Ted, though being young saw the distance look in gramp Tek’s face which made him tug at his hands; in an attempt of pulling him back from spacing out.

Tek felt the pull from him and he looked towards the kid who was smiling at him while Tek said ** it’s a guardian selection tournament notice ** which made Ted even more excited.

Ted jumped high while saying ** yay, we could get to see the guardian who helped us ** his words made Tek look at him with wide eyes while wondering how the boy knew for certain about the presence of a guardian in their city who helped them.

Ted ran towards Ren who was now outside cleaning the windows from the outside while Tek watched the boy running away, Tek wonder what Skull would be doing now regarding the notice. Find the original chapter at novelping dot com.

At Skull’s apartment,

He sat at the edge of his window while feeling the calm breeze of the afternoon along with the sun which wasn’t hot today.

Skull knew that the world was still moving on regardless of what he had gone through years pass, still he never knew how the feeling would be like when he sees this notice again.

It was like just yesterday when he signed up as a participant for the guardians tournament and now he was still trying to figure out why he joined in the first place.

If it would cause him more bad moments than good, why get involved in anyways; was his model of operation which made him keep of others business.

Even through all this Skull still has to give a satisfactory answer to the guild regarding his absence of duty and turning down all official orders from the guild over the passing year on different assignments.

He rose up from the edge of the window which he sat previously whilst going forward into his apartment with a deep look in his eyes filled with resolution.

While scene of the falling flyers detailing the tournament was seen and discussed all over the empire, meanwhile some few people who were participating were left with higher anticipation.
