💜 Percy’s pov: The temple was behind us now.
The sky had turned darker, and everyone was slowly walking toward the cars.
Jay was still holding my hand.
She looked different.
Peaceful.
Happy.
Like the weight on her shoulders had disappeared for a few hours.
I smiled.
Percy: “Ready, baby?” Jay nodded.
Jay: “Hmm.” We reached the cars.
There were two cars waiting.
The others started getting into the second car.
Only three people besides us came toward my car.
Aris.
Angelo.
Keifer.
I opened the driver’s door.
Jay immediately took the front passenger seat.
Aris sat behind me.
Angelo sat behind Jay.
Keifer took the remaining seat.
I started the engine.
Jay leaned back comfortably.
For a few seconds…
Nobody spoke.
Then— Jay looked at me.
Jay: “Perse…” Percy: “Hmm?” Jay: “I’m bored.” I laughed.
Percy: “We just left the temple.” Jay: “Exactly.” I looked at her.
Percy: “And?” Jay: “Play music.” I connected my phone to the car.
Jay immediately pointed at me.
Jay: “But please don’t play your playlist.” I looked offended.
Percy: “Excuse me?” Jay: “I don’t like your taste in music.” I laughed.
Percy: “You have no idea what I’m going to play.” Jay: “I know you.” Percy: “Then don’t worry, baby.” I tapped the screen.
Percy: “I have your playlist.” Jay’s eyes widened slightly.
Jay: “You still have it?” Percy: “Of course.” From the back— Aris: “Your playlist?” Angelo: “Wait.” Keifer: “Since when does you have jay’s playlist?” Jay immediately looked at me.
I could see the tiny warning in her eyes.
Don’t say anything.
I understood.
Percy: “Since forever.” Keifer frowned.
Keifer: “You know her music taste?” I shrugged.
Percy: “Obviously.” Jay turned toward the window.
Jay: “Just play it.” I smiled.
Percy: “Yes, ma’am.” I pressed play.
The first song started.
Criminal.
Jay’s face immediately brightened.
She recognized it in one second.
Jay: “Oh!” She smiled.
And then she started moving her head with the beat.
Keifer watched her.
So did Aris.
Angelo looked confused.
Then Jay started singing along.
She wasn’t shy.
She wasn’t embarrassed.
She was genuinely enjoying herself.
Jay sang softly along with the song.
“But mama I’m in love with a criminal…” She smiled.
Then continued singing with the music.
“And this type of love isn’t rational, it’s physical…” Aris slowly raised an eyebrow.
Angelo looked at Keifer.
Keifer didn’t say anything.
Jay kept singing.
“Mama please don’t cry, I will be alright…” She closed her eyes for a second and enjoyed the music.
Then— “All reason aside I just can’t deny, I love the guy…” Keifer’s expression changed.
Only slightly.
But I noticed.
Jay didn’t.
She continued.
The next part played.
“He is a villain by the devil’s law…” Jay smiled.
“He is a killer just for fun…” Aris stared at her.
Angelo looked even more confused.
Jay was practically enjoying the song like it was the happiest thing in the world.
Then— “He’s got no conscience, he got none…” Jay laughed softly.
Keifer finally spoke.
Keifer: “Why are you enjoying this so much?” Jay looked at him.
Jay: “Because I like the song.” Keifer: “The lyrics?” Jay shrugged.
Jay: “They’re fun.” I looked at her through the corner of my eye.
Something about this was funny.
And suspicious.
Because Jay wasn’t someone who casually chose songs.
At least…
Not usually.
The song continued.
She sang the chorus again.
Her voice was soft.
Happy.
Carefree.
And for a moment, nobody said anything.
They simply watched her.
Then the song ended.
Another song started.
The title appeared on the screen.
A Gangster’s Wife.
Jay immediately smiled.
I glanced at her.
She knew every word.
The song started.
She began singing along.
“I’ll always stand with you…” Her fingers tapped lightly against her leg.
“Forever be true…” Then— “Keep you on my mente, siempre mi vida…” Jay smiled wider.
Then came the line— “I’m a gangster’s wife to an anybody killer…” I froze.
My eyes immediately moved toward Jay.
She didn’t notice.
She was still happily singing.
Then— “Daddy let me know that I’m your only girl…” Jay continued.
“The only man that I need in this gangster world…” I slowly turned down the volume.
Jay stopped singing.
She looked at me.
Jay: “Why did you stop it?” I stared at her.
Percy: “Baby…” Jay: “Hmm?” I looked at the road.
Then back at her.
Percy: “Are you actually in love?” The car became completely silent.
Jay blinked.
Jay: “What?” Aris immediately leaned forward.
Aris: “Wait…” Angelo: “In love?” Keifer’s expression became completely serious.
Keifer: “With who?” Jay looked between all of us.
Then looked at me.
She realized exactly what I was asking.
Jay: “Perse…” I raised an eyebrow.
Percy: “What?” Jay: “kadach.” (may be) she immediately change langauge while speaking she increased the voice I lowered the volume again percy: kon che a ?
(who he is?) jay : “pachi vaat kariye ” (We will talk later) i just nodded From behind us— Aris: “WHAT ARE YOU TWO SAYING?” Jay immediately turned around.
Her expression became completely normal.
Jay: “Nothing.” Angelo: “You switched languages!” Jay: “Yes.” Angelo: “Why?” Jay: “Because we can.” Aris: “That’s not fair.” Jay shrugged.
Jay: “Life isn’t fair.” Keifer remained silent.
He was looking at Jay.
Not angrily.
Not exactly.
He looked…
Suspicious.
Like he was trying to understand something.
I started the music again.
The song continued.
Jay smiled and leaned back.
She quietly sang along again.
I watched her for a second.
Then focused on the road.
After a few minutes, Jay became bored again.
She looked at me.
Jay: “Perse.” Percy: “Hmm?” Jay: “I need a phone.” I frowned.
Percy: “I know.” I reached into the compartment beside me.
Then pulled out a small box.
I handed it to her.
Jay stared at it.
Jay: “What’s this?” Percy: “Your new phone.” Her eyes widened.
She looked at the box.
Then at me.
Then back at the box.
Jay: “For me?” Percy: “Obviously.” She slowly opened it.
Her expression changed completely.
For once, she looked genuinely surprised.
Jay: “Perse…” I smiled.
Percy: “Hmm?” She picked up the phone carefully.
Jay: “You bought this?” Percy: “Yes.” She looked at me with wide eyes.
Jay: “Why?” I laughed.
Percy: “Because you needed one.” She stared at the phone.
Then looked at me again.
Jay: “You actually remembered?” I gave her an offended look.
Percy: “Baby, I remember everything about you.” Her cheeks turned slightly pink.
She quickly looked down at the phone.
From the back seat— Aris: “Wait.” Angelo: “Jay has a phone?” Keifer: “Since when?” Jay froze for half a second.
I answered before she could.
Percy: “It’s hers now.” Aris: “No, no, no.” He leaned forward.
Aris: “How did you already have a phone ready for her?” Percy: “Because I planned ahead.” Angelo: “And her contacts?” I smiled.
Percy: “Already transferred.” Everyone became silent.
Keifer: “What?” Percy: “Photos too.” Aris stared.
Percy: “Important files.
Contacts.
Calendar.
Settings.
Everything important.” Jay looked at me.
Jay: “You already transferred everything?” I nodded.
Percy: “Before giving it to you.” Her expression softened.
Jay: “Perse…” Percy: “Hmm?” Jay: “Thank you.” I smiled.
Percy: “Always.” But the three people in the back clearly weren’t finished.
Aris: “Wait!” I sighed.
Percy: “What now?” Aris: “How do you have a backup of her phone?” Angelo: “Exactly.” Keifer: “And where is the phone she had?” Jay suddenly became very quiet.
I glanced at her.
She knew I was going to answer.
Percy: “It’s with me.” Aris frowned.
Aris: “Forever?” I nodded.
Percy: “Forever.” Angelo blinked.
Angelo: “Why?” I looked at the road.
Percy: “Because the phone she had yesterday…” I paused.
Percy: “She threw it away.” Everyone stared.
Aris: “SHE WHAT?” Jay covered her face with one hand.
Jay: “Don’t start.” Angelo: “Why did she throw away a perfectly good phone?” I looked at them.
Percy: “Because someone was tracking it.” Silence.
Keifer’s eyes immediately narrowed.
Keifer: “Someone was tracking Jay’s phone?” I nodded.
Percy: “Yes.” Aris became serious.
Aris: “Who?” I didn’t answer.
Jay looked out the window.
She knew.
I knew.
That was enough.
Angelo: “And you kept the phone?” Percy: “Yes.” Aris: “Why?” Percy: “Because throwing away evidence doesn’t mean the problem disappears.” Aris nodded slowly.
Then his expression changed.
Aris: “Give me your phone.” I glanced at him.
Percy: “Why?” Aris: “I need to call someone.” Percy: “Use your phone.” Aris: “No network.” I looked at his phone.
He showed me.
No signal.
I sighed and handed him mine.
Aris took it.
Then— He stopped.
Aris: “Password?” I answered casually.
Percy: “1708.” Jay immediately turned toward me.
Her eyes became huge.
She stared at me like I had just confessed to a crime.
I looked at her.
She stared.
I stared back.
Then— Jay: “Perse…” Percy: “Hmm?” She narrowed her eyes.
Jay: “I’m gonna kill you one day.” I blinked.
Percy: “I didn’t do anything!” Aris was already unlocking the phone.
Angelo looked between us.
Angelo: “Wait, why is she threatening you?” Keifer looked suspicious.
Keifer: “Why is the password 1708?” Aris suddenly looked up.
Aris: “Wait…” His eyes moved toward Jay.
Then toward me.
Then back toward Jay.
Aris: “That’s Jay’s birthday.” The car went silent.
Angelo’s eyebrows shot up.
Angelo: “WHAT?” Keifer immediately looked at me.
His expression changed.
Completely.
Keifer: “Why is Jay’s birthday your password?” I shrugged.
Percy: “It’s easy to remember.” Aris laughed.
Aris: “Easy to remember?” Percy: “Yes.” Angelo: “There are literally millions of numbers.” Percy: “And I chose one I remember.” Jay crossed her arms.
Jay: “Perse.” Percy: “What?” Jay: “You could’ve used literally anything.” Percy: “I like 1708.” Jay: “Why?” I smiled.
Percy: “Because it’s important.” Jay stared at me.
Jay: “You’re impossible.” Keifer looked away.
His jaw tightened.
He didn’t like that answer.
Not even slightly.
Keifer: “You could have used your own birthday.” I glanced at him.
Percy: “I could have.” Keifer: “Then why didn’t you?” I shrugged.
Percy: “Because I didn’t want to.” Aris started laughing.
Aris: “Keifer, why are you interrogating him like a detective?” Keifer glared at him.
Keifer: “I’m not.” Angelo: “You definitely are.” Keifer: “I’m just asking.” Jay rolled her eyes.
Jay: “Can everyone stop making my birthday a crime scene?” Aris grinned.
Aris: “Too late.” Everyone laughed.
Keifer didn’t.
He simply looked out the window.
I noticed.
Jealous.
Definitely jealous.
But I ignored it.
Aris finally made his call.
Then he handed my phone back.
I took it.
And immediately— Aris shouted.
Aris: “WHAT THE HELL?!” Everyone jumped.
I nearly slammed the brakes.
Percy: “WHAT?!” Aris pointed at my phone.
Aris: “Why the hell is my sister in your wallpaper?!” Silence.
Complete silence.
Everyone looked at the screen.
I looked down.
My wallpaper.
Jay.
A picture of her smiling.
Not the cold Jay.
Not the intimidating Jay.
Just Jay.
Happy.
Beautiful.
Completely herself.
Jay slowly turned toward me.
She looked at the screen.
Then at me.
Her eyes narrowed.
Jay: “Perse…” I immediately looked at the road.
Percy: “I think we reached, baby.” Jay blinked.
She looked outside.
Then at me.
Jay: “Perse…” I kept driving.
Percy: “Hmm?” Jay: “We are still twenty minutes away from the mansion.” I looked at the road.
Then at the GPS.
Percy: “Ohh.” I nodded seriously.
Percy: “Really?” Jay stared at me.
Jay: “Yes.” Percy: “Didn’t realize.” Aris burst out laughing.
Aris: “YOU DIDN’T REALIZE?!” Angelo was laughing too.
Even Keifer looked stunned.
Jay folded her hands.
She gave me the look.
The you are finished look.
Jay: “And I had told you to send this picture to me.” I blinked.
Percy: “Oh.” Jay: “You forgot.” Percy: “I forgot.” She stared at me.
Jay: “You forget even after I remind you twenty times?” I smiled sheepishly.
Percy: “Ohh…
sorry, baby.” Jay’s eyes widened.
Then— Jay: “SEND ME NOW!” I jumped.
Percy: “O…okay, baby!” I immediately unlocked my phone.
Behind us— Aris, Angelo and Keifer: “YOU KNEW HE HAD KEPT YOU IN HIS WALLPAPER?!” Jay turned around.
Jay: “Stop shouting!” Everyone became quiet.
Jay looked at them.
Jay: “And yes.” Aris stared.
Aris: “You knew?!” Jay: “Yes.” Angelo: “And you were okay with it?” Jay shrugged.
Jay: “It’s just a wallpaper.” Aris pointed at me.
Aris: “HE HAS YOUR BIRTHDAY AS HIS PASSWORD!” Then he pointed at the screen.
Aris: “AND YOU’RE HIS WALLPAPER!” Angelo looked at Keifer.
Angelo: “That’s a lot of Jay.” Keifer’s face darkened.
Keifer: “Apparently.” Jay rolled her eyes.
Jay: “You people are dramatic.” I quickly sent the picture to her.
Her phone beeped.
She checked it.
Then smiled.
Jay: “Finally.” Percy: “Happy?” Jay: “Hmm.” She looked at the wallpaper again.
Then at me.
Jay: “You really kept this?” I smiled.
Percy: “Of course.” Her expression softened.
She looked back at the screen.
For a moment, everything became quiet again.
Then Aris ruined it.
Aris: “I’m still processing this.” Jay sighed.
Jay: “Don’t.” Aris: “I have questions.” Jay: “Keep them.” Angelo: “I also have questions.” Jay: “Keep them.” Keifer remained silent.
But I could see his eyes moving between Jay and me.
He looked irritated.
Jealous.
Confused.
And probably wondering how much he didn’t know about us.
I started the car music again.
Jay leaned back.
Everything seemed normal.
My phone vibrated.
I glanced at the screen.
Unknown Number.
One message.
I opened it.
My blood ran cold.
Do you really think the person behind will save you every time?
I stared at the message.
For a few seconds, I couldn’t move.
Someone knew.
Someone knew exactly what I had been doing.
Someone knew about Jay.
Someone knew about me.
And whoever had sent that message…
Wasn’t warning me.
They were threatening me.
I looked at Jay.
She was still looking out of the window.
I quickly locked the phone and put it back in pocket i looked at jay again she was still looking outside the window then she spoke without turning jay: em na samjis me nathi joyu to mane khabr nahi mari najar badhe che aane ene e je hoi hu sodhi kadis (don’t think if i hadn’t see so i don’t know i have my eyes everywhere and whoever that person is i will find out) CREATORS’ THOUGHTS chikuptl1520 Have some idea about my story?
