Gao Sheng grabbed the phone in a rush: "Hey, Su Chen, you actually took out their command headquarters?"

Even now, he still looked utterly incredulous.

Everyone in the Blue Army, including Gao Sheng himself, had been thinking only about how to escape the Red Force's attack.Full novel: Sent Out to Train, Why Is the Whole World Trying to Capture Me? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yet Su Chen, at the very moment their Blue Army was fleeing in disarray and the Red Force was pressing its advantage, had gone and knocked out the enemy's home base.

"Regiment Commander!" Su Chen said with a chuckle. "I'm using their communications system to contact you right now. Their people have all been taken away by the Exercise Director Department and have withdrawn from the drill!"

Gao Sheng's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "You little... how on earth did you manage that?"

After all, it was their supreme command headquarters, which should have been heavily guarded.

Gao Sheng still couldn't figure out how Su Chen had defeated them with just an ordinary company.

Su Chen wiped the smile from his face and said seriously: "Regiment Commander, forget about all that for now. Do you want to win this battle?"

"Eh?" Gao Sheng's head was a little slow to catch up.

Su Chen got straight to the point: "I have a way to turn the tables on them, or at least keep us from being chased around like this."

"But the entire brigade has to follow my command. No one may act on their own, not even the Brigade Commander!"

Su Chen said, word by word: "Time is tight. In two hours, the Red Force will know their headquarters is gone. So I need an answer now. If you agree, I'll begin the operation!"

Gao Sheng's mouth twitched. "Wait, wait, that's a lot of information at once. My brain can't quite hold it all."

"Give me ten minutes, just ten minutes!"

"Alright, ten minutes!" Su Chen nodded. "I'll be waiting for your word!"

He ended the call and said to Wang Hai: "Keep watch. If a call comes in, tell me immediately!"

"Yes!" Wang Hai saluted.

Su Chen hurried to the center of the command headquarters, where Zhao Xiaodong and the others had already spread the operations map across the table.

"Company Commander, there's a sand table over there too!" Zhao Xiaodong said. "They've marked everything very clearly!"

Su Chen nodded, rubbing his hands together with a chuckle. "You've been fighting for so long, you must be satisfied by now! Now it's our turn for some fun, Blue Army!"

......

"Brigade Commander, Brigade Commander..."

Lei Cheng, who was studying the map, lifted his head and immediately saw Gao Sheng lift the curtain and rush in.

"Your backside on fire?" Lei Cheng glared at him. "I told you to lead the unit as vanguard, so why have you come running to me again?"

"Do you think we have time? The Red Force is going to encircle us soon!"

Gao Sheng chuckled and leaned in close. "Brigade Commander, I've brought you good news!"

Lei Cheng frowned deeply. "Right now, the only good news for me is that we've put distance between us and the Red Force. Every day we can hold out is a good day. Anything else doesn't count as good news!"

Gao Sheng's face broke into a grin. "Then does it count as good news that the Red Force's supreme command headquarters has been destroyed, and every member of their command has been eliminated?"

"What?" Lei Cheng stared at him in disbelief. "Are you joking with me?"

"How would I dare!" Gao Sheng immediately recounted the whole story of Su Chen's actions.

Lei Cheng's eyes lit up. "I knew early on that this kid was no ordinary person. No wonder he comes from a family of distinguished military heritage. When he came to our brigade, I guessed he would be the one to transform our brigade. Ha ha ha, my judgment was right after all!"

Gao Sheng's mouth twitched. He thought to himself that this was not how you had talked about Su Chen before, when you practically wanted to have him shot.

Gao Sheng coughed lightly and said seriously: "Brigade Commander, Xiao Su reported to me that he has a way to turn the tables. Even if we can't win outright, we can at least launch a beautiful counterattack."

"Oh?" Lei Cheng grew interested. "What method?"

"He didn't say that!" Gao Sheng replied. "But he needs full authority to command, and you must also obey his orders. If you agree, contact him right away. He's at the Red Force command headquarters!"

"What nonsense?" the Chief of Staff exclaimed from the side. "Have the Brigade Commander take orders from a small company commander? Wouldn't that be ridiculous if it got out? Where would Old Lei's face go?"

"That's right, Old Lei!" the Deputy Brigade Commander nodded. "We've been discussing this for ages without finding a solution to our current predicament. That kid is just a company commander. Could he see the whole picture better than we can?"

Seeing Lei Cheng begin to hesitate, Gao Sheng hurried to remind him: "Brigade Commander, Xiao Su has the highest education in our brigade. And as a son of a distinguished military family, he's been influenced by it since childhood. He may really have a way. Why not at least hear him out?"

He glanced at his watch. "The time we agreed on is only two minutes away. If we don't get a call, he'll have to withdraw!"

Lei Cheng's expression grew extremely complicated. He was, after all, the Brigade Commander.

To listen to the orders of a company commander under him... if that got out later......

After a full minute of deliberation, Lei Cheng suddenly raised his head. "Contact him. I want to hear exactly what plan he has!"

"Yes!" Gao Sheng saluted vigorously.

.......

"Company Commander, a call is coming in!" Wang Hai suddenly shouted.

Su Chen dropped his pen and rushed over to pick up the headset.

"Su Chen, this is Lei Cheng!"

Su Chen immediately straightened his chest. "Good day, Brigade Commander!"

"Time is tight, so I won't waste pleasantries. We'll celebrate when you come back. Speak plainly: what plan do you have?" Lei Cheng said directly.

Su Chen smiled faintly. "Brigade Commander, my plan is actually very simple..."

Lei Cheng listened quietly, the corner of his eye twitching from time to time.

Su Chen spoke quickly: "If we act fast enough, I'm nine-tenths certain we can launch a beautiful counterattack!"

"Brigade Commander, that is my plan!"

Lei Cheng clenched his fist, his mind racing furiously.

Su Chen was also a little worried. His plan was drawn entirely from real combat, and it was far too bold.

He was afraid Lei Cheng wouldn't be able to accept it.

"Can we really turn the tables?" Lei Cheng asked suddenly.

Su Chen nodded quickly. "I can't guarantee it. It depends on the actual situation at the time. But what I can say for certain is that we can severely damage them, and we'll be able to withdraw calmly!"

"Good!" Lei Cheng nodded. "On the strength of those words, I hand command over to you. From now on, the entire brigade follows your orders, including me."

"Comrade Su Chen, please give the order!"

Beside him, Gao Sheng puffed out his chest proudly. Even the Brigade Commander was taking orders from Su Chen.

Think about it: Su Chen was someone he had trained himself, so the Brigade Commander obeying him was as good as obeying Gao Sheng. How could that not be a source of pride?

Gao Sheng nearly laughed aloud. This kid was really giving him face!

A faint smile curved Su Chen's lips. "Brigade Commander, let's proceed exactly as I just described. The faster, the better!"

"Good!" Lei Cheng nodded.

As soon as he ended the call, the Chief of Staff and the others hurried over. "Old Lei, what happened? Why is the entire brigade obeying his orders? What on earth is that kid's plan?"

Lei Cheng gave a faint smile and immediately explained Su Chen's plan in detail.

When everyone had heard it, their jaws dropped to the ground.
