Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow gnawed on the thing in its hands, not answering Zhong Xiwang’s barrage of questions.
Zhong Xiwang slapped her own head.
How foolish!
This strange thing couldn’t possibly understand her words!
Could it be that it really found those bastards who bullied her based on the drawings earlier?
Thinking of this, Zhong Xiwang took out paper again and roughly sketched the appearances of those people, pointing at the figures on the paper.
Seeing her gesture, Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow shook the food in its hand, which was already half gone.
Zhong Xiwang’s pupils widened in delight.
Though she felt a bit regretful that she hadn’t taken action herself, knowing that the people she hated had truly been eaten by Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow made her feel much better.
“Hahaha… serves them right! Good riddance! Those damn scum deserved to die! Hahaha…”
Zhong Xiwang tossed the paper aside and sat on the ground, letting out a somewhat hysterical laugh.
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow paused, its eating movements growing quieter.
After laughing her fill, Zhong Xiwang stood up from the ground.
She stroked her chin, sizing up the strange creature on the ground that now looked particularly pleasing to her eyes.
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow tilted its head, following Zhong Xiwang’s pacing back and forth in front of it.
After finishing the food in its hands, Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow let its long arms droop by its sides and sat quietly on the ground, unmoving.
Suddenly, Zhong Xiwang walked over, holding up the papers again, and reconfirmed, “They…”
She pointed at the figures on the paper, then at Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s stomach. “Are they here?”
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s head turned in the direction Zhong Xiwang pointed, tilting its neck to the side like a silly dog. It tilted its head and patted its stomach.
Zhong Xiwang grinned widely, then pointed at the drawings and herself, indicating that she wanted to go to that place to see.
Zhong Xiwang gently reached out and patted Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s head.
“Take me to see…”
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow stared at her movements, not reacting for a long time, unsure if it understood.
Only after Zhong Xiwang made a few more gestures did Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow suddenly seem to understand.
It grabbed Zhong Xiwang’s hand.
In the blink of an eye, she felt a chill all around her. Looking more carefully, she found herself now in a rather dilapidated wooden hut, with liquor bottles, cigarette butts, and some unfamiliar things scattered all over the floor.
Zhong Xiwang first marveled at this teleportation ability, then looked around. There was no one there, only a few half-burned cigarettes on the ground.
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow had brought her here as she wished. There wasn’t a drop of blood or any signs of struggle or resistance at the scene. It was as if the people inside had disappeared suddenly, just like her.
Zhong Xiwang nodded in satisfaction. After wiping away and covering up the footprints left on the ground, she led Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow outside to the grassy area.
She pointed in the general direction of her own house.
In a blur before her eyes, she was back again.
Zhong Xiwang was now both shocked and delighted, her eyes examining Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow as if looking at something extraordinary.
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow walked over and sat down in its previous spot, wanting to grab Zhong Xiwang’s hand to drink her blood again.
Zhong Xiwang immediately rinsed its mouth first before letting it drink.
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow found a spot that hadn’t been medicated. As its sharp teeth pierced her skin, she immediately frowned and let out a muffled groan.
Seeing her pained expression, Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow restrained its desire and slowly released her arm.
Unexpectedly, Zhong Xiwang actively offered her arm back.
“Hey! I’ve got plenty of blood! But you can’t bite my hand off like last time, got it!”
Zhong Xiwang suddenly changed her expression, her face turning serious and solemn as she sternly warned.
She was being very reasonable, giving the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow, who had helped her greatly, the proper reward he deserved.
The night breeze gently drifted in, stirring Zhong Xiwang’s red hair and framing her delicate face. Her complexion was pale, even tinged with bluish-purple marks, but her smiling eyes shone with startling brightness.
The originally clear whites of her eyes were now streaked with red veins, making the expression on Zhong Xiwang’s face appear quite peculiar.
The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow stared at her blankly while slowly licking the warm blood with his tongue.
“You like red, right? Here!”
Zhong Xiwang waited until her hand grew cold from blood loss before pulling it back. She rummaged through the wardrobe and pulled out a small pig plushie wearing bright red clothes, which she then stuffed into the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s arms.
“Here!”
The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow felt the softness in his arms. Just as he looked up, his entire body was enveloped by a bright red quilt cover.
Everything before his eyes turned red.
He slowly raised his hand and saw that, under the quilt cover’s reflection, his own body had also turned a vivid red.
Finally, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s emotions stirred. Clutching the plushie against him, he slumped softly to one side.
Seeing him like this, Zhong Xiwang found it amusing.
“Look at you, so easily pleased.”
She was clear about gratitude and grudges. Facing the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow who had helped her deal with her enemies, she was quite generous.
Hearing her voice, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow slowly lifted the quilt cover from his head and silently stared at her.
While Zhong Xiwang cheerfully cleaned the bloodstains on the floor, his gaze slowly shifted toward the open wardrobe door.
After washing the mop and coming out, Zhong Xiwang noticed the large figure on the floor was gone. Just as she was wondering where he went, she saw a sight that made her furious.
Somehow, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow had dug out her zodiac-year gear and was curiously examining it in his hands.
Then, as if struck by inspiration, this damned creature tied her gear around his head, hugged the bright red quilt, and comfortably lay down on her bed.
Zhong Xiwang was instantly enraged. She strode over, snatched back her bra, and angrily kicked him several times.
“You… you… you’re insane!”
With the item on his head pulled away, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow ignored her incoherent cursing and kicking—human kicks felt like mere tickles to him.
Seeing him reach out to grab it again,
Zhong Xiwang crumpled it into a ball and hid it behind her back, her entire face turning as red as a boiled crab.
“Don’t you dare reach out again!” Zhong Xiwang pointed at him menacingly, warning him.
Seeing that this creature couldn’t understand human language and was determined to have his way, Zhong Xiwang kicked him hard and tried to snatch the red pig plushie from his arms.
The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow immediately wrapped his arms and legs tightly around the items on him.
Only then did Zhong Xiwang stop. Clutching the item in her hand, she turned and left the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s line of sight.
Finally done cleaning the room, Zhong Xiwang was panting heavily from exhaustion.
Sweaty and uncomfortable, she saw the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow lying obediently on the bed. Zhong Xiwang grabbed a few clean clothes and headed into the bathroom.
Her wounds hadn’t fully healed yet, so she couldn’t get them wet. She could only give herself a simple wipe-down.
Just as she took off her clothes, the bathroom door suddenly swung open.
Zhong Xiwang looked at the fallen doorknob and immediately covered herself with something.
“Get out!!”
Her movements were swift, but Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow still noticed that her originally fair and clean skin was covered in scabbed scars and many bluish-purple marks, like a canvas stained with paint.
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow stood frozen in place, not reacting even as bottles and jars continued to hit his body.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The door was violently pounded from outside.
“What’s going on in there, you bitch! I’ll report you for disturbing the peace!”
Zhong Xiwang in the room immediately realized the commotion she had caused was too loud and stopped moving, falling silent.
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow slowly turned his head and walked toward the door.
Zhong Xiwang quickly grabbed this dangerous figure.
“Don’t go out.”
Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow looked at her. She was only wrapped in a towel, revealing two round shoulders and delicate collarbones, her two scar-covered arms tightly gripping him.
On her wrists, there were also two bruised marks.
Hearing the person outside leave, Zhong Xiwang had just released Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow when her body was gently grasped by one of his hands.
Then, her feet left the ground, and she was carried to lie on the bed. Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s tall, slender form enveloped her like a dragon guarding its treasure.
Zhong Xiwang was stunned, then felt her wrist being seized. A wet, cold tongue with barbs lightly licked a few times before biting through her skin.
Zhong Xiwang only let out a soft groan, glaring angrily at Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow beside her and muttering in annoyance, “Are you a pig?!”
