Hearing it actually mimic her speech, Zhong Xiwang didn’t know if it enjoyed toying with its prey, but she had already reached the point of reckless abandon.

Since death was inevitable anyway, before dying, she wouldn’t let it devour her so easily.

Zhong Xiwang pulled out another pale tibia from beneath her, raised it, and swung it toward the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow in front of her.Full novel: She Became the Monsters’ Baby — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her attack was effortlessly caught by one of the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s hands, which pinned her arm against the tree trunk behind her.

Struggling, Zhong Xiwang used her other hand to grab whatever was nearby and hurled it wildly at the creature.

She cursed furiously through gritted teeth: “You damn @##¥¥%, I’ll @##¥% you…”

After both her hands were pinned against the tree trunk, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow used its Tentacles to prop up its head, quietly listening to Zhong Xiwang’s “colorful language.”

She cursed so rapidly and profusely that the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow seemed unable to keep up, and it stopped mimicking her.

Since childhood, Zhong Xiwang had been spoiled by her parents, developing a terrible temper and a willful nature. She dropped out of school early, chasing after so-called freedom and true love.

After enduring the harsh realities of society, she gradually became more cunning and worldly, learning to leverage her advantages to gain benefits.

Thus, when men actively pursued her, she would skillfully navigate their advances with sweet words and flattery.

Once she obtained what she wanted, she would coldly cut ties and walk away without hesitation.

But now, facing such a monster, those tactics of feigning weakness and flattery were utterly useless.

Fortunately, on a sleepless night when she was terrified, she had transferred all the money she had earned over the years to her parents’ bank account.

Now, she had nothing left to worry about.

For as long as Zhong Xiwang cursed, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow remained silent, until she glared at it hatefully, panting heavily. Only then did the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow slowly stir.

It lowered its head and silently tidied up the scattered crimson portraits that Zhong Xiwang had kicked into disarray with her feet.

“I’m talking to you, you bastard!”

Seeing the creature pretending to be deaf, Zhong Xiwang’s explosive temper erupted completely. She kicked the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s hand, causing it to jolt.

The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow lifted its head, its ashen, grotesque face “looking” at her. A strange, low growl emanated from its abdomen.

The sound made Zhong Xiwang’s heart skip a beat, and she shut her mouth, falling silent.

Only when she stopped moving did the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow resume its actions.

Its tall frame sat on the tree trunk, its long legs dangling on either side, its slender back hunched as it quietly organized the stack of red portraits. Strangely, it gave off an inexplicable sense of docility… Ugh!

Zhong Xiwang felt ashamed of her earlier thought.

While the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow was focused on tidying up, Zhong Xiwang quietly reached for the dagger she had hidden nearby earlier.

Suddenly, she lunged at the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow, stabbing toward its abdomen, the source of its sounds.

She refused to believe this monster truly had an indestructible body.

Her sudden pounce caught the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow off guard. Unable to brace itself against the tree trunk in time, it was thrown backward by Zhong Xiwang’s momentum.

On top of it, Zhong Xiwang fought with the desperation of someone with nothing left to lose, repeatedly and forcefully stabbing its tightly shut mouth with her dagger.

The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow seemed stunned, remaining motionless as it stared blankly at the figure above.

The portrait papers that fell with them floated in the air, their beautiful colors dancing gracefully in the breeze. Against the backdrop of the dark tree canopy and sky, the red papers leaped in his vision like soft petals.

That head of stunning red hair seemed like a blazing flame, filling his sight with a fiery red.

As his gaze shifted, he saw Zhong Xiwang’s delicate, fair face wearing a somewhat frenzied and triumphant smile.

Her rosy lips curved, revealing several white teeth inside, and her eyes, bright as starlight, were fixed intently on him.

From her clear pupils, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow saw his own reflection.

It was a different appearance, unlike the dull, grayish-white image reflected in the tear-filled eyes of children. Under the countless red hues, he seemed to have taken on a skin tone similar to theirs.

Thud! A heavy object hit the ground.

The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow lay motionless on his back, unmoving.

With him as a cushion, Zhong Xiwang sat safely on top of him, her fists clenched as she stabbed repeatedly at his abdomen with a knife.

Only when the tip of the knife had dulled did Zhong Xiwang stand up.

This strange creature had no eyes, and it was unclear whether it was dead or alive. Since it wasn’t moving, she decided to treat it as dead.

Zhong Xiwang stepped over him and had just taken two steps when a grayish-white tentacle wrapped around her waist, instantly dragging her back.

As soon as she was close to the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow, Zhong Xiwang gripped her dagger and slashed and stabbed wildly at his body.

Facing the attacks, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow remained indifferent. The tentacle held her tightly, allowing Zhong Xiwang to continue her actions as he picked up the portraits from the ground one by one.

Upon careful thought, this scene was quite amusing.

“Do you think I’m giving you a back massage?!”

Bound, Zhong Xiwang flailed her legs behind her, trying to kick the tall, strange creature in front of her.

Suddenly, Zhong Xiwang felt both her legs lifted off the ground.

Zhong Xiwang clawed at the tentacle around her waist. “Let me go, you bastard!”

The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow turned around and looked at Zhong Xiwang, who was held aloft in the air. She wore a long white nightgown, and her fiery red hair stood out even more against the white fabric.

The Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow shifted positions, holding Zhong Xiwang under the sunlight. To his delight, he discovered that Zhong Xiwang’s entire head emitted a beautiful red glow!

Pleased with this discovery, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow spun Zhong Xiwang around in the air with his tentacle.

Watching Zhong Xiwang’s head occasionally catch the sunlight, flashing like a red lightbulb, filled him with joy.

Meanwhile, Zhong Xiwang, who had inexplicably ridden several rounds of a low-altitude pendulum ride and roller coaster, was nearly vomiting blood from anger.

Her vision blurred with stars as she pounded on the tentacle around her waist, her stream of curses never ceasing.

Watching Zhong Xiwang flail her arms and legs wildly, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow seemed to suddenly discover something amusing and lifted her even higher.

“I’m going to… kill you @#$… I will definitely kill you… ugh!”

Zhong Xiwang, dizzy and disoriented, muttered weakly.

Seeing what she spat out of her mouth, the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow immediately stopped.

“Ugh! You… ugh!!”

Zhong Xiwang was on the verge of tears from anger. She had never been in such a humiliating state before.

The dizziness, combined with the filth stuck to her body, made her even more nauseated. She alternated between cursing and vomiting.

Zhong Xiwang’s “eloquent” display prompted the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow to place her back on the ground.

Zhong Xiwang lay on the damp ground, completely drained of strength.

Feeling the Tall and Thin Ghostly Shadow’s tentacles still poking at her body, Zhong Xiwang’s mental defenses finally shattered.

She suddenly grabbed the ghostly shadow’s tentacle and bit down hard on it. At the same time, tears of grievance and sorrow streamed from her eyes, falling onto the tentacle.
