Having waited over an hour for Seth’s boys in blue to finaly arrive after confirming cage queen had no idea she could open the window.
Her, “If I’d known that I would’ve invited more people.” Only adding to the fact the she was clueless to it’s escape route.
Inexperienced in the ways of muliple bodies entangled in each others pleasures I did wonder the logistics of it all.
Being a one man pleasure shack I wasn’t about to find out.
Though a woman can still wonder which body part fit where.
I imagine a game of pin the tail on the donkey played a part in that senerio.
The scale found in the window now sealed, and wraped up for foresics to investigate what shifter form it derived from.
The possibilities being every reptile form in existance.
Meaning to many to have a guess at.
All that was left to do was dust for prints and vamous.
“Ready to go?”
“More then ever.”
Clicking his tongue like a gekco clinging to the roof he added.
“You sure you don’t want to stick around for the conclusion of whose turn is it?”
Least I fall into another bout of histerics just picturing what was posibly the best moment of my comedic life my head shook with a resounding.
“Nope.” Topped off with a, “I don’t share.”
This made Seth smile from ear to ear as he practically skipped his way out of there like Alice’s brick road singing, “We’re off to see the wizard.” At the top off his lungs.
Of course I’m embellishing.
He was humming it.
Like I said you can’t make this shit up.
As we made our way out.
The officers parting like the red sea Seth’s death glare with a forehead sign of, “fuck off.” Ensured that in no uncertain terms they get close enough to acidentally brush an arm or two.
Always looking out this dear old boss man of mine.
Making our way back to the death glider on wheels we walked in quiet contemplation of todays events.
From detective side kick, to daddio’s kick up the reality checks arse and topped off with open windows both literally and metephorically our outing in the big city of wolf creeks playground had ended in hope for finally moving forward with our missing persons case.
Dead or alive my optimisum for an answer reaching new levels in light of what we’d found.
Feeling chuffed with myself for, “cracking the case wide open.” I wasn’t the least bit aprehensive of the soon to be near death experiance that was our ride home.
Of course that was until we reached the train station.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!”
Seth’s outburst cutting through my jubelance.
The pieces of my hard earned restoration of the day dashed by the large painted sign of, “OUT OF ORDER.” plastered on the delapidated metal shards that was meant to be my ticket to a good nights sleep in the confines of my own home amongst the unfortunate.
“At least it wasn’t while we were on it?”
In a voiced question of, ” look on the bright side.” While forgetting that our grounded arses were now stranded in a city that had cast my unknown hide out just for being born unable to fit the mold of thier tight nit society.
The alternative plan to be dragging ourselves back to my father’s humble abode whilst he bounced in circles singing Cumbia around the fire of over exertion as drop bears invade from the ceiling of no existance was so not an option. Find the original chapter at novelping(.)com.
One lunchen was enough to have you running for the hilltops where seven brides wait for thier seven brothers.
The avalanche that trapped them a welcome comfort knowing that at least they were safe from thier 6″7 father who even after escaping his clutches is still he he heing between each bounce trying to coax you back to his idea of a good time.
The look Seth was throwing my way with a well placed eyebrow arch as if to say, “we have no choice.” Was hurled away by my, “no way in hell.” Comeupins.
Storming my way towards the maintenance crew, hands on my hips with my chest puffed out impersonating the before mentioned bodiance of a dragon shifter inundated with an overstepped last straw effect strong enough to breath fire without the carbinminoxcide that would have surely been thier deaths.
“When will this scrap heap be fixed so we can go home?”
A smurfed up orca of a man pulling his trousers up past his still showing arse crack wiped at his running nose with nothing but his hand the sucking noise causing bile to rise up with a sneer of, “good lord man use a dam tissue.” Only to have him blow to the side to extract what he’d already wiped.
His unshaven chin jutting out with upper arogance in spite of the putried display of nasal excretion he’d only just preformed with outstanding atrocities.
“Keep yer knickers in a knot I’ll only be a minute. Never thought a slummer’d be itching to return to thier squaler.”
“Well I am. So hurry the fuck up would you.”
“Hear that jeffer. She wants us to hurry the fuck up.”
Body slamming his way towards me with a clear of his throat and a spit to the side he pointed his pickle green finger just inchs from my face.
“Watch who you talking to slummer scum or jeffer en me won’t worry about fixin this here train. Come ta think of it. What you think Jeffer? Time to call it a day or what?”
Me and my big mouth.
Faking my best apolegetic, “I didn’t mean what I said.” With a side of, “please don’t leave.” I swallowed my pride.
“Did I say hurry up. What I meant to say was. Please good sir won’t you be so kind as to hasten your fine work in fixing the train so that we may be on our way. After all who wants slummer scum like us left in the streets after dark to spread thier chaos in your fine city.”
Seth who’d been absently watching this entire time let out a spouting muffled barely consealed chuckle knowing exactly what I was doing as plummer boy here too focused on me missed Seth’s snort as his eyes took on a look of fear at the idea that someone from the slums would have no choice but to darken his doorsteps.
“Well blimey you got a point there missy. Hey Jeffer’s let’s hurry it up. Ain’t no way Ima be the cuase of a slummer walking the streets at night. The sooner we get this up and running the sooner we get rid of this here trash.”
With a hmph I made my way back to Seth’s side positively radiant.
“Avoiding your dad was worth all that?”
“Absofreakinglutely.”
Thirty minutes later we were on our way.
~
Apart from the lurch of what can only be classed as a rollarcoastor of impending doom each time the train hit a corner the ride was relatively uneventful.
Thats if you disregard the almost derailing when a section of the track broke apart like last weeks meat sack consequently swinging from side to side as it saw sawed it’s way to almost certain tipover.
It’s oh shit handle just out of reach having been flung over the side after a screw loose rebounded with the force of a automatic rifle leaving the one and only rail your last resort of surviving hades domain.
Even after the coast was clear.
The train righting itself into it’s former upright position.
We still found ourselves clinging to our life raft greatful to still walk our dystopian existance amongst the bottom feeders of our great nation.
Practically kissing the gravel upon our arrival.
Sea legs shaking like scurvy infested limbs.
Gums aching from the constant lock jaw adding to the list of diease ridden likeness.
Water being the only element missing from the all too illusioned effects of its malnutitioned reference to the state of abuse our bodies were suffering from.
“Let’s not do that again.”
It was times like this that I hated not being able to touch.
I would have killed for a shoulder to lean on as we crawled our way back to the office.
Seth seeming in far better shape could’ve even carried me.
As it was I was left to limp my way back while passersby cackled under thier breath at the crank panting her way down the street wishing like hell that I had the power to just teleport myself thereby saving me the embarssment.
A painful journey later.
We finaly made it to Shifters Investigations.
Dropping myself in my chair.
An almightly huff breathed towards the roof while Seth who now seemed completely fine made us some much needed coffee.
“You know what time it is right?”
Gazing up at him with a, “do I look like I have a watch.” Stare he passed me my coffee and sat down in his usual spot opposite my desk.
“It’s technically time to go home.”
The groan that escaped my throat like a weaning calf put a huge grin on Seth’s face only making me scowl with the deepest sense of hatred.
“I’ll just sleep here.”
“You’re not sleeping here.”
“Why not?”
“Because there’s nowhere to sleep.”
“Sure there is. Just give me a pilliow and a blanket and I’ll makeshift swag myself a bed.”
“Makeshift swag?”
“Yup. Makshift swag.”
“Well even if I would let you do that. I’m fresh out of pillows and I don’t have any blankets. So your shit out of luck.”
“Argh. Seriously. Isn’t it a requirement to have a couch to nap on for a PI?”
“I’m a detective.”
“It’s basically the same thing!”
“Rexy you’re not sleeping here on your own. Now come on let’s go. You can even take the day off tomorrow.”
“You mean it?”
“Of course. To be honest after today I think I’m going to need a day to rest as well.”
“Alright fine.”
It took an hour to get home.
Twice as long as usual.
Sometimes I hate not having the fast healing other shifters have because honestly.
This shit sucks.
