Еspeciаllу sinсе the girl was still drеssеd аs Dаji at this momеnt. Hеr crimson аttire stoоd out strikingly аnd breathtakinglу аgаinst the snоwу backdroр. Thеrе was no sеductive аllure in hеr еуes—оnly grievаnce аnd innосent helplessness.

She resemblеd а little fox that hаd just tаken human form, аrriving in thе mortal world full of anticipation, only to be utterly disappointed, aggrieved, and lost.

And he, Shen Rangchen, was the culprit.

After the gossip news broke, the messages she had sent him flooded his mind without warning.

[No wonder President Shen suddenly postponed his return by a day—it turns out he was drowning in a gentle embrace.

This body of mine must have bored you after all, and I kept foolishly dreaming of staying by your side for ten, twenty… even a hundred years…]

That was right before boarding the plane. After leaving that message, she had vanished, completely unreachable.

Now, the man who had always been composed and self-controlled looked at the girl before him, her eyes and the tip of her nose flushed red. It felt as if a sudden icy wind had swept through, chilling him to the bone.

Shen Rangchen reached out to pull her into his embrace, but in that instant, he clearly saw Shen Ciying shrink back like a startled little fox.

As if she dared not approach, or didn’t know how to, or perhaps she was too upset to want anything to do with him.

Before Shen Rangchen could decipher her emotions, the next moment, he saw her pout, glare at him coquettishly, and then turn and run away, still holding the snow fox in her arms.

Shen Rangchen’s brow furrowed deeply. He stood still, watching her run off, a hint of irritation creeping into his low, cold voice. “What’s the tantrum about now?”

Hearing the impatience in his voice, Shen Ciying abruptly stopped in her tracks and turned back to face Shen Rangchen, whose expression remained cold and detached.

But instead of tempering her mood under the oppressive weight of his impatience, nor yielding to swallow her grievances, she slightly lifted her chin. Her aggrieved and fragile gaze instantly transformed into one of reproachful resentment as she accused him:

“You didn’t explain the trending news, and now you’re even scolding me!”

The next moment, she actually threw the snow fox in her arms straight at Shen Rangchen.

The snow fox let out a startled cry, claws outstretched as it lunged toward Shen Rangchen.

The nearby attendants were so frightened by the scene that they collectively held their breath. They wanted to rush over to “protect their lord,” but didn’t dare act rashly—after all, Shen Rangchen had instructed them to obey Shen Ciying’s wishes within the Immortal Fox Garden.

Even Zhuo Feng, standing behind Shen Rangchen, was so tense he froze, caught in a dilemma.

Facing the snow fox lunging at him, Shen Rangchen instinctively wanted to sidestep to avoid it, but he heard the resentful girl shout at him with willful arrogance:

“Don’t you dare dodge!”

As soon as the words left her mouth, a gust of wind brushed past Shen Rangchen’s ear—the snow fox had flown past his cheek, its claws leaving a scratch.

It bled slightly, not serious, but the fact that it was on Shen Rangchen’s body made the situation inexplicably grave.

Everyone was stunned into silence.

Zhuo Feng was so shocked his legs felt as if they were filled with lead, his entire body rigid.

Based on his understanding of his boss, dodging this little fox would have been effortless, yet he had stubbornly stood there and let it injure him.

The entire space seemed to freeze in that instant. Under the already freezing night sky, the temperature plummeted further, sending shivers of fear down everyone’s spines.

Only Shen Ciying showed not a trace of fear or alarm. She stood there, staring directly at Shen Rangchen. In the silver-white snowfield, a tall man in a black suit and overcoat and a woman in a red fox costume stood facing each other from a distance.

One wore a cold, impatient expression, while the other looked proud and petulant.

One resembled a cold-hearted mortal Buddha, the other an enchanting celestial fox spirit.

The entire snowy night was eerily quiet.

Zhuo Feng snapped back to his senses and hurriedly stepped forward to check Shen Rangchen’s injury, but as soon as he moved, he saw Shen Rangchen raise his arm slightly, signaling him not to approach.

Zhuo Feng immediately halted in place, his heart pounding as he nervously worried for Shen Ciying.

When their CEO was in a normal mood, everyone had to respond with utmost respect, but in the clearly impatient state he had just displayed, anyone who saw him would even breathe with caution.

Only this little troublemaker dared to add fuel to the fire, constantly testing their boss’s patience and limits.

Standing beside Shen Rangchen, Zhuo Feng felt the surrounding atmosphere growing increasingly oppressive and couldn’t help but steal a glance at the silent man beside him.

Oh no!

The CEO seemed truly angry this time.

He silently prayed he wouldn’t be caught in the crossfire of his wrath.

Unexpectedly, the next second, the man who had remained silent in cold fury for a long while looked at the girl who had injured him and spoke:

“Satisfied?”

Zhuo Feng was stunned!

Shen Ciying showed no hint of smugness or arrogance, only a spoiled, soft, and petulant demeanor, making her harmful act seem devoid of malice—like a child throwing a tantrum.

Dressed in a fox costume, with fluffy red ear accessories and headpieces, along with a lifelike pink nine-tailed tail, she looked exactly like a celestial fox that had just taken human form.

With a proud tilt of her head, she gently swayed her nine tails, appearing like a pure yet seductive being who had mistakenly wandered into the mortal world and caused trouble unintentionally.

Shen Rangchen looked at the little fox before him, clearly angry, yet half of his fury and impatience subsided. Still, his voice remained cold: “Come here.”

Shen Ciying no longer defied him, softening entirely as she slowly walked toward him.

She knew how to tug at his heartstrings, provoke his anger, and then step forward to offer a soft candy, explaining her emotional outbursts with adoration and longing.

She walked up to the man, looking up at him with wide, pleading eyes—he towered a full head above her—and pouted as she complained coquettishly:

“I’m jealous! You’ve never looked at me that way. It’s driving me crazy!”

Shen Rangchen lowered his gaze to the little fox before him, his eyes darkening with an unreadable emotion. The next second, he reached out, snapped off her nine tails, scooped her up into his arms, and ordered everyone present: “No one follow us.”
