Xie Junting was deeply worried about the patient at home, pushing his work to the absolute limit so he could return by two in the afternoon.
As soon as he stepped into the first-floor foyer, he spotted Xia Yiyan sprawled across the sofa. She had changed into a light-white long slip dress, its form-fitting style leaving her graceful curves entirely unmasked. Her long, seaweed-like dark curls cascaded down, framing a slender waist and a lifted, shapely backside. Beneath the hem of the dress, only a length of slender, perfectly rounded calves was exposed.
She truly was different now. She had never worn dresses at home before—or rather, never in front of him—and rarely wore light colors, mostly sticking to dark casual wear or jeans. Her long hair was always tied up too, almost never let down. She was so engrossed in watching a tablet that she hadn’t even noticed him enter. Walking closer, he saw she was watching a comedy film, her face blooming with a flower-like smile because of the hilarious plot. Her brows were curved, her eyes filled with mirth. Pure and radiant.
His heart skipped a beat, the little girl from his childhood magnifying right before his eyes. There it was again—that strange yet familiar feeling. Sensing a fixed gaze upon her, Xia Yiyan looked up and received a massive fright. The overbearing CEO was standing right beside her, staring. She instantly wiped the silent, silly grin off her face, wanting to speak, but her throat couldn’t produce a sound. Yesterday’s ordeal still lingered in her mind, and seeing him instantly brought back a primal fear. Afraid that a moment of displeasure from him would cause her to suffer again, Xia Yiyan picked up her tablet and opened the notes app to type.
【I firmly promise never to run away again. Please believe me!】 【I can slowly prove it to you.】 【It’s just that… it’s just…】 Xia Yiyan found it hard to put into words. 【I’m in a lot of pain right now. Let’s wait until I’m healed before…】
She bit her lip and threw caution to the wind. Yesterday had taught her just how formidable this CEO could be. She didn’t dare set conditions telling him not to touch her, so she could only retreat to a safer compromise. She at least needed to wait until her body healed a bit.
The panic and tension in her eyes were caught clearly by Xie Junting, who knew he had truly frightened her over the past two days. Whether she was genuinely turning over a new leaf or just faking it, Xie Junting was willing to accept this compromise. He didn’t mind if she lied to him; what he minded was if she couldn’t keep up the lie forever. Even if it was a deception, he hoped she could make it last a long time—as long as she stayed by his side.
Xie Junting sat down on the sofa, scooped her up, and sat her sideways on his lap just like holding a child.
“I believe you.”
With that, he cupped Xia Yiyan’s face and pressed his thin lips to hers. It was a fleeting touch, a shallow taste, yet his expression carried reverence and sincerity. The man possessed a cool, noble aura, yet was as wild and untamed as a beast, naturally exuding the air of someone at the top.
Faced with him, Xia Yiyan couldn’t help but tense up, her heart pounding frantically, her breathing chaotic. Though they had already shared more intimate moments, he was ultimately still a stranger. Besides, she had zero dating experience. Xia Yiyan could only force herself to relax.
Sensing her tension, Xie Junting reached out, half-embracing her and gently soothing her back. “I’m going away on a business trip for half a month. I’ll leave tomorrow morning.”
The man’s voice was cool, yet his tone was gentle.
Xia Yiyan grabbed the tablet and continued typing. 【Okay, I’ll be good at home waiting for you to come back.】
She held up the tablet for him to see, a bright, sweet smile instinctively blooming on her face. For the next half-month, I won’t have to face the CEO. Absolute bliss.
“Are you really this happy that I’m going on a business trip?” The man deliberately adopted a cold tone to tease her.
Xia Yiyan jumped in fright, waving her hands frantically to deny it. 【No, I’m not happy at all, not happy in the slightest. I’m very unhappy, and I hope you come back early.】
After typing, she even pouted, feeling that this jerk of a man was truly impossible to please.
“Since you’re unhappy and will miss me so much, I suppose I should just take you with me.” He kept teasing her.
Ah! Xia Yiyan froze instantly, wailing in her heart, No, please don’t! But on the surface, she didn’t dare show the slightest bit of reluctance.
“Alright, look how scared you got. With your body like this, how could I bear to torture you?” The man’s voice grew lower and huskier, his embrace tightening. Xie Junting chuckled softly, seeing how terrified she was. “Don’t worry, I won’t touch you until you’re healed. Get your strength back, and then let me have my fill, hmm?”
Sitting on his lap, Xia Yiyan could clearly perceive the man’s physical change. She shrank back like a quail, not daring to move a single muscle. The romance novels never mentioned that the CEO was an absolute sex addict!
Even through dinner, Xia Yiyan couldn’t escape from Xie Junting’s lap. It felt like he viewed her as a toddler lacking self-sufficiency. He carried her to the dining table and held her in his arms to feed her. Auntie Lin and the butler were both right there, and Xia Yiyan’s face burned so hot she thought it might melt. She wanted to eat by herself and, even more, to get down from his lap, but every time she made the slightest movement, a single light glance from him would freeze her in place. You’re the boss; I can’t afford to cross you.
When bedtime rolled around, the man washed her, brushed her teeth, blew-dried her hair, applied her medicine, and changed her into pajamas. He handled every single task personally. The hardest part to accept was that he even carried her to the restroom, holding her up like a baby to let her relieve herself. Xia Yiyan wept with grievance, but the man—looking like a devout believer—licked away her tears without conceding an inch.
Resign yourself to despair, then; Xia Yiyan had completely given up struggling.
The summer night was dark as ink, dotted with scattered stars. The man at night was like a dangerous beast. Even if he couldn’t partake fully, he still had to collect some dividends. Xia Yiyan kept her eyes closed, her trembling eyelashes lightly brushing against his heart. Kissed to the point of suffocation over and over again, their breaths mingling, she wrapped her arms around his neck in a panic and begged him to stop.
The man chuckled softly, teaching her how to catch her breath. This idiot still hasn’t learned after being taught several times. Xia Yiyan felt aggrieved—it wasn’t that she couldn’t learn; it was just that this man was too overbearing.
The aggressive kisses fell as dense as raindrops, sweeping through her entire mouth, growing deeper and more intense, scorching and fierce, escalating with a violent momentum. Under such a fierce onslaught, she couldn’t breathe at all. From start to finish, the man never closed his eyes, his gaze utterly infatuated. Savoring the sweetness that belonged solely to him, watching her forced to sink into the abyss right along with him, a strange sense of satisfaction bloomed deep in his chest. At this moment, having her right in his arms was more than enough.
At eight o’clock the next morning, before Xia Yiyan was even fully awake, she was picked up by the man and carried to the bathroom to freshen up. “Be a good girl, stop sleeping for a moment. Eat breakfast first, and then you can make up for it.”
Until the man finished feeding her breakfast, along with her anti-inflammatory and throat medication, she remained in a hazy, half-asleep daze. You couldn’t blame her for sleeping so much; it was genuinely because this man didn’t sleep and wouldn’t let her sleep either—they had been making out well into the middle of the night. Who can possibly relate to this?!
Fortunately, after the man tucked her back into bed to sleep, he began packing his things and preparing to leave. Right before walking out the door, he pressed a light kiss to her forehead and murmured intimately against her ear, completely unbothered by whether she was asleep and could hear him or not:
“Be a good girl at home. Wait for me to come back.”
