Lin Ze changed his clothes and left work. As soon as he stepped out of the front doors of Charm Night, he ran into Yi Yan.
He frowned deeply, wondering why Yi Yan was here.
Could it be that Yi Yan had followed him, and that was why he had been waiting for him to come out?
He bit his lower lip and walked forward. “You, are you waiting for me?”
At that moment, Yi Yan’s handsome face wore a devil-may-care smile. He leaned lazily against the body of his car, watching him quietly.
“You could think of it that way.”
Lin Ze: “Wait.”
“I just happened to pass by and saw a model student like you hanging out in a bar like this. I found it a bit surprising. I thought I might have seen wrong, so I wanted to wait here for you to come out and verify if it really was the Lin Ze I know.”
Yi Yan’s sword-like eyebrows lifted slightly. The soft moonlight spilled across his sharply chiseled face, exuding a handsome, aloof aura that made people want to keep their distance.
“So what if I am here? I did not do anything against the rules. Whether I show up here or not is none of your damn business!”
Lin Ze’s keep-your-distance attitude really made Yi Yan feel a wave of annoyance.
Come to think of it, ever since Lin Ze met him, he had never given him a pleasant look, had he?
He had not done anything particularly excessive to Lin Ze, so why did he always look at him with such hostile eyes?

He thought to himself, could it be that what he said that night was too harsh and hurt Yi Yan?
Lin Ze shook his head, turning his thoughts around to make excuses for himself.

A crowd of men and women dressed in alluring and sultry attire danced in the center of the dance floor, colorful lights swaying to the rhythm of the music amid the deafening roar of the crowd.
Even just delivering a bottle of wine to a table meant he had to struggle to squeeze through the gaps in the crowd.
The guests were dancing enthusiastically, and he finally managed to make his way to the elevator entrance.
Entering a private room, the men and women inside were living as if in a drunken dream, filling the room with a hazy, foul air.
The dense smoke made Lin Ze knit his brows slightly.
“Here is your wine, guests. Please enjoy.”
With that, he bowed and was about to turn to leave.
A plump man sitting in the middle looked to be in his thirties, with a patch of bleached yellow hair that was particularly glaring. A thick, heavy gold chain hung around his short, thick neck, making him look exceptionally tacky.
His eyes stared intently at Lin Ze, and he narrowed them unhappily. “Hey, kid! Stop right there!”
Lin Ze paused in his tracks and slowly turned his head.
After locking eyes with the yellow-haired man, Lin Ze was certain he was the one being called.
“What is it, sir?” he asked.
“Did it take you this long just to deliver a bottle of wine? How many times do you think I have had to remind you?” The yellow-haired man snapped angrily.
Actually, people with this kind of attitude were quite common in Lin Ze’s line of work.
With guests like this, as long as he softened his attitude, apologized, and coaxed them a little, their anger usually dissipated.
But this person was clearly just picking a fight and intentionally stirring up trouble!
The guests in this private room had not called for wine at all, and there were records on the front desk system.
They had placed their order just ten minutes ago, and Lin Ze had brought the wine over as quickly as possible.
He did not know this yellow-haired man, nor did he know why he was trying to trip him up like this.
Though he was straightforward by nature, he did not want to blow things out of proportion and lose this high-paying job.
Lin Ze bit his teeth together and chose to swallow his anger.

“Hah, a dry apology is not what I want. There is a proper way to make amends; you follow the rules of this trade, understand?” The yellow-haired man touched his chin with an evil smile.
Looking at Lin Ze before him, the guy was even more delicate and pretty than a woman.
However, he did not quite know how Lin Ze had managed to displease the little darling in his arms.
Anyway, since Lingling was not happy, he had to put on a show for her no matter what!

Lin Ze raised an eyebrow, seemingly unaware of what rules the man was talking about.
The woman next to him let out a snort of laughter and gave the yellow-haired man a light pat on the shoulder.

When Lin Ze first started working here, this woman had taken a liking to him.
Thinking she had a bit of looks and being a coworker of Lin Ze’s, she hoped to find an opportunity to hook up with him.
She was someone who valued money but also appreciated good looks. In her eyes, although Lin Ze did not have money, he was not bad-looking, so dating him would not be a loss.
Yet, she never expected that even though she, a woman, had been so proactive, Lin Ze remained as indifferent and ascetic as a monk, completely unresponsive to her.
Eventually, pushed to the limit by her persistence, Lin Ze put on a cold face and dropped harsh words, telling her never to harass him again!

“Do not be upset, Lingling. Big brother will help you teach this ignorant, ungrateful brat a lesson right now!”
He pointed at the bottle of wine on the table and threatened Lin Ze, “Drink this bottle of wine on the table down to the last drop, and I will let you off. Otherwise, I will go straight to your manager!”
Hearing this, Lin Ze looked coldly at Pang Tangwen. His planted feet felt as though they were firmly glued to the floor.
“What? Too proud and arrogant, are we? Refusing to drink?” Ling Qiongqiong, emboldened by having Pang Tangwen backing her up, spoke with increasing confidence.
“Do you even know who is standing right in front of you? The eldest young master of the Pang Corporation! How dare you offend him? Can you afford to face the consequences?”
Ling Qiongqiong raised her voice triumphantly to belittle Lin Ze.
To everyone else’s ears, every single word Lingling used to put Lin Ze down served to elevate Pang Tangwen.
Ling Qiongqiong was already a seasoned expert at stepping on one person to lift up another.
Ling Qiongqiong glanced at Lin Ze and found him looking at her with total indifference.
Lin Ze did not speak; he merely shot Ling Qiongqiong a single glance filled with disdain.
That look was captured by Ling Qiongqiong’s sharp eyes for barely a second.
In her eyes, Lin Ze was simply launching a silent, unprovoked provocation against her!
Even in this state, he still acted like some noble flower on a snowy peak.
And he still dared to look down on her!
Seeing that only made her want all the more to break his soaring wings and trample him fiercely into the mud of the abyss!
Lin Ze looked coldly at the people inside the private room. Not a single one of them was speaking up for him; even though they knew he was in the right, they would still side with power to suppress him.
A VIP room. Hah. Indeed, these were people he could not afford to offend.
Forget it. Compared to his dignity, what did losing this high-paying job matter? He could simply find another one.
“Please go ahead,” Lin Ze said quietly.
As soon as Lin Ze spoke, the men and women in the room all held their breath.
Watching Pang Tangwen’s expression grow increasingly ugly, everyone drew a sharp intake of breath.
Each of them silently broke out in a cold sweat over Lin Ze’s reckless words.
