At the dinner table, everyone is at dinner quietly. Only sounds of utensils hitting the plates rang out.
Arthur was still deep within his thoughts, planning what to do tomorrow.
"Um... excuse me, what is your name?"
Suddenly, the girl of the twin asked Arthur cautiously. All eyes turned to her.
Arthur’s gaze lingered on her for a moment before he looked away. He gulped down his food.
"Arthur Gillion."
He said flatly and prepared for his next bite. But the girl seemed to have gotten a green light as she seemed to become excited. Her eyes widening. She stared at Arthur with sparkling eyes.
"Mr. Arthur! Huh! Nice name! My name is Judy Anastasia and this is my little brother Jude Anastasia! Nice to meet you."
"... Nice to meet you too."
Arthur said slowly and cast a troubled side eye to the girl. He pulled on the spoon he was biting and it snapped free. He started chewing but his expression was not good. He really wasn’t good with kids. Nor was he a social butterfly despite his social skills.
He is kind of an overt who can talk to strangers fine but he absolutely sucks at continuing a conversation. He would keep the conversation going as long as he needs something but after that it’s all just praying and hoping that he gets out of there quick.
That is not a problem with friends. Since there is stuff of interest he shares with them.
Right now, he was on the spot, the child clearly was giving signs that she wanted to get closer to him but the question is how?
He didn’t like too much clinginess nor like to show fake affection. And he certainly didn’t expect others to show him Affection as well.
So he could not give what this kid was wanting. But all he can do is hope and pray that he has good social skills or they can say goodbye to getting closer.
"By the way Mr. Arthur, do you do boxing?! That slap was so cool!"
Arthur gazed at her flabbergasted, his mouth coming loose a bit from sheer disbelief. Sara and jude also looked at her with an incredulous look. But she didn’t care about their look and her eyes were fixed on Arthur.
Arthur could not understand what was going through this kid’s head. He closed his mouth, gulped his food and exhaled softly.
"I don’t understand what relation slapping someone has to do with boxing but I did practice mixed martial arts."
He said calmly, giving his full attention to her. He likes to treat people equally despite their age. And having a serious conversation with Judy was a part of it.
Judy seemed even more happy getting Arthur’s full attention.
Sara and Jude didn’t interrupt because Judy seemed genuinely happy.
Although Sara did like how Judy started with conversation one bit, she still said nothing and aggressively started to shove food into her mouth. She was still angry.
Even though her father was alcoholic, he never hit her or anything. He was a good man. Although Jude and Judy hadn’t received his kindness because everything fell apart before they were old enough.
Sara knew just how much of a carrying man her father was. The loss of his wife shattered him. Everyone in the family was grieving. But Sara steeled her heart and beard with everything.
She had hoped that her father would one day recover. But with each passing day, she was getting more inclined to send him to rehab. The reason she hadn’t sent him there yet all this time was simply because she wanted a real parent beside Jude and Judy as they grow up.
But it seemed that didn’t work out well since both of them don’t seem much bothered by not having their father around. And she honestly doesn’t blame them.
She was thinking of sending their father to rehab for a while now but there was a bit of money issue which she was working towards, she was glad that her father will be finally getting the help he deserves, but there was certainly a better way for Arthur to handle the situation!
Just because someone attacked did not mean one has to strike back! Sara glared at Arthur. He turned to look at her.
She hissed and snorted, then turned her head away.
Arthur gazed at her dumbfounded. His lips quivered. Many thoughts emerged in his mind but none were appropriate to say out loud. He felt very <anno data-annotation-id="42906b68-bfa3-4e1d-9e12-a959a9050622" data-title="supercalifragilisticexpialidocious">supercalifragilisticexpialidocious1</anno>¹.
He took a deep breath and shook his head. Judy looked back and forth between her brooding sister and this new handsome man who seemed like a super nice guy. He bought a lot of toys and snacks for them.
She knew for a fact that it wasn’t her sister who bought them.
But her foolish little brother didn’t have that much brain processing power and thought all of these were brought by his sister and this man was just after their sister.
That’s why Jude had deep mildly glaring at Arthur this whole time.
But she didn’t correct him. It was his loss, she was going to use this opportunity and hug the thigh of this rich boyfriend of her sister to get things she wanted. But first, she needed to establish a good relationship.
From what she could tell, this man named Arthur Gillion was a weird man. She could not read him well. But no matter, she was still the little sister of his girlfriend so he will at least get her a few gifts each month for being a good girl right?
"Ahem! My bad. I got too excited."
Judy said, breaking the silence. Arthur turned to look at her and nodded. Indicating it was okay.
"Well, Mr. Arthur, since you were practicing mixed martial arts, how far did you go?"
"Aaaaa... I think I was preparing for internationals."
"...Pardon?"
"...Hmm. Basically I was the national champion."
Arthur explained. Judy’s eyes went wide, even Jude was impressed. He pretended not to listen and focus on his meal but he was listening. As for Sara, no one cared about her at the moment.

Word:
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
US IPA: ˌsupərˌkæləˌfrædʒəˌlɪstɪkˌɛkspiˌæləˈdoʊʃəs
Pronunciation:
soo-puhr-kal-uh-fraj-uh-liss-tick-ek-spee-al-uh-DOH-shuhss
Meaning:
The word had an older pre-Mary Poppins history. A 1931 published occurrence already described it as implying things like grand, great, glorious, splendid, superb, wonderful.
But the 1964 Disney film popularized the word massively, and it explicitly gives it the second function of suggesting at a loss of words.
Meaning: "It’s something to say when you don’t know what to say."
And my own tweak is an emotional state to describe the state near speechlessness, a state approaching speechlessness in which one wishes to respond but cannot find an appropriate or adequate response.
Not speechlessness. Nor at loss of words. Both are near that state but not quite describe what we feel.
Speechlessness is when you don’t know what to say.
A loss of words is when you can’t think of anything to say but want to say.
But that is when you have stuff to say to someone who is making you feel stupid just by existing but too many lines are coming at once in your mind and all of them are nukes to the conversation 💀.
I basically named that state:
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Better prepare yourselves. Imma use that a lot😈. You’re free to participate in this lexical trolling. Let us revive a dead word with different meaning and canonise it😈. English is about to be greatful that it existed in my time🗿.
