After dropping the kids off, Sara was few until lunch break. She planned to go home only after the kids’ school ended.
Before that, she spent some time sitting near the waiting room for parents.
After waiting for a while, she got bored and decided to look around a bit. It was past 7 A.M. in the morning. Some schools start at 8. So students were groggily coming to school. Elementary school, middle school, High school, of all levels. This whole area was packed with schools.
Sara roamed around aimlessly. Remenacing about her good old days when she was enrolled in one of these schools as a student.
Where each of her days had something new to offer. That something slowly stopped as she grew up.
She watched the students joking, laughing and chatting with each other. A small smile involuntarily formed on her face.
Sara noticed people looking at her and whispering amongst each other, but she didn’t pay them any mind. She wasn’t hiding her face today. She didn’t feel like it.
Naturally, her beauty attracted attention. Young boys fawning over her, blushing and giggling amongst each other like loons. Girls admiring her from afar, wondering if she were some kind of model, despite her humble dress up.
Sara continued to walk around before she stopped at an ice cream shop. She ordered an ice cream and sat down on a nearby bench to eat it.
She wasn’t in a hurry. She was affected by the merry atmosphere and got lost in her own world. It’s been ages since she last felt this relaxed.
"The weather is good today isn’t it?"
Sara was living good until someone decided they needed to be a jerk and talk to her. Her mood instantly soured, but she controlled her expression and didn’t show it.
She turned to her side, she found a man sitting beside her, looking ahead. A small smile plastered on his face. He looked calm and at peace. But despite his calm appearance, Sara could tell he was trying his hardest not to look at her.
Trying to appear casual. Basically trying to impress her. She of course didn’t buy it. But for the sake of not being rude, she nodded.
The man’s smile widened a bit. His eyes turned to Sara, gazing at her side profile through the corner of his eyes. Her beauty almost took his breath away. And the longing inside his chest became stronger.
"I’m Christopher Knole by the way, nice to meet you, may I know the name of the estimated lady?"
He said coolly. But to Sara, it looked nothing more than a dog desperately wanting attention. A heavy sigh threatened to come out but she held it in. She really didn’t like small talk, especially with men, which is exhausting.
"...It’s Anna Roseneath. Nice to meet you too."
Sara lied through her teeth as naturally as breathing. She saw no reason to give a stranger her name.
"Anna Roseneath... What a beautiful name... are you here to drop off someone?"
"Um."
At Christopher’s question, Sara just nodded. She really wanted to go away now. This man was getting on her nerves for some reason. Maybe because he disturbed her peaceful morning, or maybe something else. She did not know. What she did know was that she wanted to get away from here as soon as possible. And being as polite as possible. She didn’t like to be rude to people whom she just met.
Unlike curtain someone who would beat up people on their first meeting.
Sara was suddenly reminded of Arthur, she wondered where he went. Maybe he was meeting up with important people to accomplish whatever goal he had?
"I see. Well, I live nearby so I come to jog around the streets here. I like the clamorous atmosphere of the school. It wakes me up. Makes me feel alive. Seeing all the children happy makes me happy as well. Don’t you think so?"
Christopher said nostalgically. The first thing he said that didn’t get on her nerves.
She just nodded. She didn’t plan to stay long. She was done eating ice cream. She got up ready to leave, when Christopher called out to her.
"Wait! Miss Anna, can I have your number? Well, I wanna know more about you so-."
"Sorry, I have a boyfriend."
Sara used the boyfriend card on Christopher, swiftly turned around and left. Christopher reached out to her departing solitude but she was too fast in her retreat.
He wanted to chase after her but didn’t, that woman didn’t seem like one he could mess with. And she seemed very loyal to her boyfriend as well. A beauty of her caliber this loyal to a man? He could only wonder what kind of dude it was. He was sure of one thing, it certainly wasn’t an ordinary man.
After escaping the vicinity, Sara decided that she will go somewhere else to pass the time.
Then she thought of something, going to a spa. She had always wanted one. To get a full body massage. It will be an excellent pass time and she also doesn’t have to worry about money.
Feeling excited, Sara looked for the best spa nearby. She didn’t dare to go to a cheap one. God knows what kind of security they provided. Rather than betting her safety for a cheap experience, she booked an appointment for a luxury spa in a grand hotel.
Her appointment was at 10 A.M. One hour of full body massage. Sara excitedly waited for the appointment. She walked to the hotel which was nearly a kilometer away because she wanted to pass the time. She reached the place before 10 A.M.
At her appointed time, a staff member came and took her to a private room. Her massage session began. An hour later, Sara came out of the hotel, totally refreshed and smiling. Her whole body felt relaxed.
Sara looked at the time, there was still time before lunch time. She started thinking about what else she could enjoy. She remembered a pastry shop she used to visit a lot with her father when she was little. She wondered if it was still there.
The shop was quite far away, so she took a cab there. She arrived at her destination and the shop was still there. She entered the shop and ordered something light.
The taste was still the same. It brought a sweet smile to her face. Sara was enjoying herself when she noticed someone on the other side of the street. She narrowed her eyes to look better but the glass wall was a bit blurry. But the body proportion seemed to match Arthur.
Without much thought, she took out her phone and dialed his number.
