Нumаns tendеd tо bе suреrstitious аbоut mаtters of dеаth.

She hаd come dirеctlу from the funerаl homе, still weаring buriаl clothеs.

Yet this Bo Сhеnjing, whоm рeoрlе sроke of with suсh feаr, had thoughtfullу arrangеd for clоthes to be рrерarеd fоr her.

He сleаrlу wasn’t ruthless оr cruel аt all.

Rumоrs соuldn’t be trustеd.

Sheng Chuуang felt shе wаs stаrting to like him a bit.

She wanted to takе him bаck to the Citу оf Eternal Night.

Shеng Сhuyang looked up and smiled at Bo Chenjing, thanking him: “Thank you, brother.”

Her tone carried undisguised happiness and friendliness.

Among all the humans she had seen, only Bo Chenjing seemed the most formidable.

Never mind what “Sixth Master” or “Seventh Master” others called him—she’d build a good relationship with him first.

Bo Chenjing looked at Sheng Chuyang with a faint, amused smile. “Others call me Sixth Master, but you call me brother?”

Song Wu, standing behind Bo Chenjing, was already wide-eyed with shock.

His master, the famously indifferent-to-women Sixth Master, had unprecedentedly prepared clothes for a woman for the first time. And now, faced with such clingy friendliness, not only did he not show disgust, but he could even smile?

Could Sheng Chuyang have cast some spell on Sixth Master?

Sheng Chuyang retorted confidently, “You’re older than me, aren’t you?”

The amusement in Bo Chenjing’s eyes became more apparent. “Go change your clothes.”

…

Sheng Chuyang went to Bo Chenjing’s office to change.

Bo Chenjing and Song Wu waited for her by the elevator.

Song Wu cautiously asked Bo Chenjing, “Sixth Master, this Miss Sheng seems quite different from what the records say…”

Bo Chenjing had previously instructed him to investigate Sheng Chuyang.

According to the records, Sheng Chuyang was spoiled, unreasonable, and hot-tempered—quick to hit people or smash things when displeased…

Bo Chenjing mused thoughtfully, “She is quite different.”

Not just different.

She was practically a different person.

Bo Chenjing glanced at his wristwatch and asked Song Wu, “How long has she been in there?”

“About twenty minutes…” Only when Bo Chenjing asked did Song Wu realize Sheng Chuyang had been taking an unusually long time to change.

Bo Chenjing turned and walked toward the office.

Just as he raised his hand to knock, the door cracked open slightly, and a small head peeked out.

Sheng Chuyang whispered to him, “Can you come in for a moment?”

Bo Chenjing’s gaze fell on her collar, noticing she had already changed, and he pushed the door open to enter.

As soon as he stepped inside, Sheng Chuyang tugged at her collar and turned her back to him. “Help me with the zipper.”

To think that she, a dignified Vampire Princess, was stumped by a dress.

How embarrassing it would be if word got out!

Bo Chenjing never expected that Sheng Chuyang’s prolonged delay was because of a zipper.

“Hurry up,” Sheng Chuyang urged him.

There was no one else here, and she couldn’t exactly go out and ask Song Wu to come help her.

Bo Chenjing walked forward slowly, lowering his gaze as he helped her with the zipper.

Halfway through, he found the situation absurd—that he was actually letting her order him around—and teased her, “Miss Sheng really doesn’t treat me like an outsider.”

This was an intimate act, so Bo Chenjing stood very close.

Sheng Chuyang could almost feel his body temperature and the rhythm of his heartbeat.

She also caught a faint but captivating scent from him.

Sheng Chuyang’s attention was entirely on this fragrance.

It was so enticing it made her crave something.

So hungry…

“Done.” Once the zipper was fastened, Bo Chenjing stepped back gracefully.

Sheng Chuyang turned to look at him. “What perfume are you wearing?”Bo Chenjing’s originally not-so-gentle gaze instantly sharpened, cutting into her like a blade.

It was as if a ferocious beast had shed its disguise, revealing its true nature.

Sheng Chuyang had no doubt that Bo Chenjing would kill her in the next second.

Sheng Chuyang glanced at the vase not far away out of the corner of her eye and still asked him in that innocent tone, “Brother, what’s wrong with you?”

If the enemy doesn’t move, I won’t move.

If the enemy moves, I’ll take him down.

Sheng Chuyang noticed that Bo Chenjing had also seen the vase nearby.

No more waiting. Now is the time.

She was absolutely certain she could reach it before him.

However, the moment she turned around, she felt a sharp pain at the back of her neck and collapsed to the ground in a daze.

Before losing consciousness, she angrily cursed him.

“Bo Chenjing, you rotten scumbag, how dare you ambush me…”

Bo Chenjing looked down at her from above, leisurely asking, “Not calling me ‘brother’ anymore?”

“Hmph! Rotten scumbag!”

Sheng Chuyang no longer had the strength to curse him and completely lost consciousness.

Ah, this damn weak body!

…

She woke up again in the hospital.

There were voices talking outside the door.

“Her low body temperature might be related to her being a premature baby. Apart from being weaker than the average person, all other data from the physical examination are normal.”

She didn’t recognize this voice.

“Thank you, doctor.”

This sounded like Bo Chenjing’s assistant.

If the assistant was here, then Bo Chenjing must be here too!

Sheng Chuyang jumped out of bed with a fierce momentum.

As soon as she opened the door, she saw Bo Chenjing standing at the entrance, looking as if he was about to push the door open.

Without hesitation, Sheng Chuyang lifted her leg and kicked Bo Chenjing hard.

“That’s for ambushing me!”

She had lived for a hundred years and had never suffered such humiliation!

Caught off guard, Bo Chenjing was kicked so hard that he crashed into the wall.

Song Wu, standing nearby, was stunned.

He couldn’t believe that Sheng Chuyang dared to attack the Sixth Master, and even more unbelievable was the sheer force of her kick.

After the shock wore off, he hurried over to help Bo Chenjing up. “Sixth Master!”

Bo Chenjing raised his hand, signaling that no help was needed—he could get up on his own.

He slowly stood up and walked back to Sheng Chuyang. “Feel better now?”

His expression was so calm, as if it didn’t hurt at all.

“You deliberately didn’t dodge just to make me feel better?”

Sheng Chuyang could tell that Bo Chenjing could have easily avoided the kick, but he hadn’t.

“I misunderstood you.”

“What?”

“I don’t wear perfume. Only vampires can smell the scent of blood on me.”

Therefore, Bo Chenjing suspected Sheng Chuyang was a vampire.

But there was no trace of a vampire’s aura on her. He tested her, and the girl fainted as soon as she was hit.

So he simply brought her to the hospital for a comprehensive physical examination.

Sheng Chuyang listened with a sinking heart.

The library in the City of Eternal Night contained many books about humans. She wasn’t entirely ignorant about humanity, but she had never known that there were humans who, even without being injured or bleeding, could emit the scent of blood from their bodies.

Bo Chenjing’s attitude toward her had improved, likely because he now believed she wasn’t a vampire.

“Then why can I smell the scent of your blood?”

“It might be related to your car accident, which gave you some of the abilities of a vampire.”

“You mean the vampire’s abilities transferred to me?”

“That theory is still questionable, but it can’t be ruled out.”After finishing his words, Bo Chenjing probably also felt that this explanation was far-fetched, slightly furrowing his brow.

Sheng Chuyang glanced at him with a smile: “Oh.”

How ridiculous…

The Blood Clan had no such thing as the ability to transfer consciousness.

Her possession of this body was definitely not that simple.

However, this Bo Chenjing did have quite the demeanor, not holding it against her even after being kicked.
