Gu Wan glanced sideways at Li Mingyue.

“Our workplace is a cultural institution, so the requirements are quite high. First, you need to write a résumé and application, clearly stating your personal information and background. You have to submit it tomorrow, and then the leadership will hold a meeting to review it. There’s also a possibility that you’ll have to take an exam.”

Li Mingyue immediately became anxious.Full novel: Sixties Space: The Capitalist Heiress Takes Her Child to Join Her Military Husband — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Are you messing with me? Since when does transferring a job have to be this complicated?”

Gu Wan rolled her eyes.

“Oh? Is there an easier way? Then why don’t you go find one? Why are you so determined to buy my job?”

Li Mingyue was left speechless.

Wasn’t it because she couldn’t find another job? If she could find one elsewhere, she wouldn’t have to swallow her anger and put up with this humiliation.

Liu Jihong hurriedly stepped in to smooth things over.

“Okay, okay. We’ll write it right away. You can take it with you tomorrow and submit it to the leaders. Make sure you explain things properly to them.”

Gu Wan impatiently interrupted her.

“All right, then hurry up and write it. Don’t show up tomorrow morning with nothing prepared. I’m going to rest for a while. Call me when it’s time to eat.”

If she didn’t give Li Mingyue something to do, that woman would always be looking for ways to cause trouble for her.

Li Mingyue gritted her teeth in hatred, but there was nothing she could do. Writing things down was genuinely difficult for her. She might have graduated from high school, but how many people had actually studied seriously back then?

She had no choice but to drag her younger brother over and make him write it for her.

Liu Jihong watched Gu Wan’s retreating figure and couldn’t shake the feeling that she had become completely different from before.

Exactly how she had changed, however, Liu Jihong couldn’t put her finger on.

Gu Wan returned to her room, quickly slid the bolt into place, and locked the door.

She was exhausted today. She needed to enter her space and soak in the spiritual spring for a while.

The moment Gu Wan entered the space, she froze.

Had she… entered the wrong space?

Why was the thatched cottage gone?

In its place stood an impressive three-story Western-style villa.

And looking at the villa…

Why did it look so much like the Gu family’s house?

Confused, Gu Wan walked toward the building.

Now she could be certain.

It didn’t merely look like it.

It was exactly the same!

Every brick and every tile of this building was identical to the three-story Gu family villa she had seen earlier that day—the one she had emptied until only the bare shell remained.

Why had this happened?

Gu Wan walked inside.

The living room, the sofa, the chandelier…

Everything was exactly the same as in the Gu residence.

Even the positions of the furnishings hadn’t changed!

What the heck!

If she had known this would happen, she could have simply stored the entire house in her space from the beginning instead of going room by room…

Wait.

That wasn’t right.

She was certain she hadn’t stored the house itself. Before leaving, she had even looked back at it several times.

So what was going on?

Could it be…

Because she had been so reluctant to part with that house, the space had sensed her emotions and upgraded the thatched cottage into a Western-style villa?

Gu Wan thought that was very likely.

Yes!

That had to be it!

She suddenly wondered where the red-lacquered, openwork carved treasure box containing the top-grade Imperial Green jadeite bracelet had gone.

She searched around the living room but couldn’t find it.

Where could it be?

If the layout of the villa inside her space was exactly the same as the Gu residence in the real world, then where had Grandpa Chen taken that box from?

Confused, Gu Wan also wanted to see whether the other treasures were still in the secret basement.

She followed the stairs downward.

There was actually a basement in the villa inside her space too!

Gu Wan finally found the red-lacquered, openwork carved treasure box sitting on the enormous writing desk in the basement study.

It seemed the box had originally been placed on the desk.

She opened the lock and saw that the top-grade Imperial Green jadeite bracelet was still safely resting inside.

Only then did she relax and lock the box again.

Gu Wan found the button beneath the desk and pressed it.

The bookshelf on the wall immediately slid sideways, just as it had in the Gu residence.

Oh my goodness!

Had even the hidden mechanism been copied?

Gu Wan walked into the secret room.

The arrangement inside was truly identical to the secret basement beneath the Gu residence.

She briefly opened several of the boxes and found that everything was exactly as before.

Only then did she feel reassured.

She left the villa and walked over to the spiritual spring.

Gu Wan discovered that the spring had changed as well.

It was more than twice as large as before, and the flow of water had increased considerably.

Could stockpiling supplies actually upgrade the spiritual spring?

That was wonderful news!

Tomorrow, she could go to the department store and buy even more things to stockpile.

Gu Wan drank several mouthfuls of spiritual spring water.

After an exhausting day, her somewhat foggy mind immediately became much clearer.

She then jumped into the spring and took a wonderfully relaxing bath.

From head to toe, inside and out, every pore seemed to be filled with comfort and refreshing vitality.

When it was nearly time, Gu Wan left the space, changed her clothes, and was just about to leave her room when she heard the nanny calling from outside, telling her to come downstairs for dinner.

Gu Wan answered, opened the door, and walked downstairs.

Only Li Fugui was sitting at the table.

Gu Wan glanced at him, raised an eyebrow, and asked,

“Where is everyone else?”
