“Kael, don’t…” Cassie whispered as his face drew closer to hers.

“Aren’t you looking for the King?” he questioned, his breath warm against her skin.

He smiled and leaned in closer, his breath brushing her earlobe.

“I am the King,” he whispered, his voice sending shivers down her spine.

Kael is the King?

She couldn’t believe it!

No wonder he was always around her.

Even at the ball on her wedding day, he was the first to dance with her.

He was the one who rescued her in the forest.

Cassie’s mind went blank, and a strange energy surged through her body, radiating from her bandaged hand.

She clutched Kael’s shirt and tore it open, revealing his muscular chest.

Her hands explored the hard planes of his body, feeling the strength beneath his skin.

He caught her wrist, stopping her, but she gazed at him with an unfamiliar hunger burning inside her.

“Husband…” she whispered seductively.

“Why didn’t you admit you were the King from the start?”

She pulled his face to hers, kissing him again.

This time, he kissed her back gently, their lips moving in a steady rhythm.

Kael lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bed, laying her down carefully as he broke the kiss.

“More…” Cassie murmured, her voice thick with desire.

Kael exhaled deeply, struggling against his instincts.

“Cassie… stay calm,” he said in a low, soothing tone, but she resisted, her senses clouded by the lingering effects of the needle attack.

“Kael… I love you,” she confessed, pressing fevered kisses to his neck, igniting the fire within him.

He tore away her clothes, trailing fervent kisses down her body, drawing soft moans from her lips.

As their passion deepened, his fangs elongated, and his eyes glowed crimson.

Instinct overtook him, and he sank his fangs into Cassie’s neck.

She gasped, her body arching as warmth spread through her.

He drank deeply, her blood filling him with an intoxicating rush.

Cassie’s strength faded, and he forced himself to pull away.

She lay weakly against his chest, her breathing slow and steady.

Wrapping his arms around her, he held her close, ensuring she was safe in his embrace.

He had fought against his urges for so long, but tonight, she had broken his restraint.

And knowing it was her first time, he felt an unexpected sense of pride at least she had given herself to him and no other man.

When Cassie woke, darkness had fallen outside, the room dimly lit by flickering candlelight.

She found herself still wrapped in Kael’s arms, his heartbeat steady beneath her cheek.

Her face burned as memories of their night together rushed back.

“I am the King”.

His words echoed in her mind.

So… Kael is the King?

No wonder he was always watching over her. This chapter is updated first at g.com.

“Cassie, are you awake?” His deep, magnetic voice broke the silence.

She kept her eyes shut, too embarrassed to answer.

How could she face him now?

Kael chuckled softly and ran his fingers through her hair.

“Thank you,” he murmured with a smile.

Still, she said nothing.

“Aren’t you hungry?” he asked.

“No,” she mumbled.

How could she move from this awkward position?

They were both naked, and she was still lying against his chest.

“I want to get up,” she said, her cheeks burning.

“Feel free,” he said, releasing his hold on her.

“Don’t look…” she muttered, her ears turning red.

Kael let out a low laugh but turned his face away.

She quickly slid off him, grabbed a robe from his wardrobe, and put it on before dashing out of the room, her heart pounding with embarrassment.

Kael smirked as he watched her flee, then rose from the bed, taking a long bath before slipping into dark pants and a black t-shirt.

Back in her room, Cassie buried her face in her hands, mortified by everything that had happened.

She glanced down at her hand, realizing it was fully healed.

“I’m healed…?” she murmured, pressing against her skin.

There was no pain.

A strange force had pushed her into seducing Kael.

And she hated it.

When she was done bathing, She was still lost in thought when a knock sounded on the door.

“Come in,” she said reluctantly, immediately regretting it.

The door opened, revealing Daisy, smiling as she carried a tray of food.

“His Majesty asked me to serve you dinner,” Daisy said, her smile as bright as ever.

Cassie got up from the bed and sat at the table.

She picked up a spoon and took a bite, but the food held no appeal.

“I can’t eat,” she muttered, pushing the plate away as she stood.

Suddenly, an unbearable itch flared in her neck.

“Ah—!” she gasped, the pain intensifying.

Memories rushed back.

Kael had bitten her.

He’s the King…

and also a vampire.

Will I turn into one too?

The thought sent a wave of panic through her, and pain shot through her body, forcing her to collapse to the floor.

Daisy rushed to her side, pressing a hand to her forehead while murmuring strange words.

Cassie’s breathing slowed, but her vision blurred, and her body grew weak. Find the original chapter at g.com.

She stared at Daisy, suspicion creeping in.

Is she…

a witch?

Daisy helped her onto the bed, but something was wrong.

Cassie could feel her blood rushing through her veins at an unnatural speed.

She could hear distant voices whispers carried on the wind.

The chirping of birds from miles away.

The sound of a rushing stream she shouldn’t have been able to hear.

She shut her eyes, trying to steady herself, but the needle attack and Shadrix’s assault flashed through her mind, dragging her back into fear.

She tried to open her eyes, but they refused to obey.

Then, the visions came.

Hooded figures chanting incantations.

A woman screaming as she was dragged to her death.

Cassie could feel her pain.

The betrayal.

The sheer agony of her final moments.

Then, another sensation a brutal force slamming into her, water enveloping her body, pulling her under.

She was drowning.

“No!” Cassie bolted upright with a piercing scream, her eyes bloodshot.

“Your Majesty!” Daisy called, but Cassie couldn’t recognize her.

A dark energy filled the room.

The air grew heavy.

Cassie’s body lifted off the bed, rising toward the ceiling, her eyes glowing crimson as a smoky aura swirled around her.

She stretched out her right hand, fingers expanding.

Daisy gasped as an invisible force clamped around her throat.

She was choking.

Struggling, Daisy tried to use her magic, but before she could cast a spell, Cassie’s left hand shot up in defense.

A powerful force hurled Daisy across the room.

She crashed into the wall with a scream.

The door burst open as Kaidon stormed in, ripping it from its hinges.

Without hesitation, he raised his hand and cast a spell toward Cassie.

She smirked, her voice an eerie blend of many voices speaking at once.

“Little wizard, your petty tricks won’t work on me.”

With a flick of her wrist, she sent a blast of power toward Kaidon, knocking him unconscious before he could react.

Daisy struggled to her feet, forming an energy sphere between her hands.

With all her strength, she hurled it at Cassie.

But before it could reach her, Cassie redirected it with ease.

The blast struck Daisy instead.

She screamed as her body was flung backward, crashing against the floor.

A deep voice, thick with surprise, echoed through the room.

“Shadow Witch?”

Cassie turned toward the voice, her glowing eyes locking onto the figure standing in the doorway.
