Kongling stuck out her tongue and made a playful face. “Don’t be mad, Master~ I’m just telling the truth! Your current constitution is way too frail. But if you drink plenty of Spirit Spring water, living to over a hundred won’t be a problem at all!”

He Yanchu shook her head helplessly, then suddenly remembered something. “By the way, since my mother was also a transmigrator and had such a huge ‘cheat’ like a portable space, how did she die in an accident during a mission?”

Before she could finish, He Yancheng’s loud voice boomed from downstairs. “Xiaochu! Are you up there?”Full novel: Soul Transmigrated into the 1970s: A Dominant Female CEO Possesses a Body and Dotes on Her Little Wolf Dog — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Master,” Kongling whispered, “I was already in the modern era with you back then, so I don’t know what happened to your mother either. You should go out now. Remember, just focus your mind and you can enter or leave the space whenever you want.”

He Yanchu nodded. With a single thought, her surroundings shifted instantly, and she was back in her bedroom.

“Coming, coming!” She quickly straightened her clothes and hurried to the door, nearly bumping into her cousin who was about to knock.

He Yancheng looked at her suspiciously. “What were you doing in there? I called you several times and got no response.”

“I… I was tidying up some things,” Yanchu stammered, quickly changing the subject. “What’s wrong, Brother Cheng? Is something happening with Han Qingmo?”

He Yancheng suddenly lowered his voice. “Comrade Han isn’t doing well. He started bleeding again. Uncle Zhang says if the bleeding doesn’t stop, he might lose the leg!”

Yanchu’s heart sank. She immediately reached out to Kongling in her mind. Kongling, is there any medicine in the warehouse with strong hemostatic effects?

Kongling’s sweet voice chirped back, Yes, Master! I’ll find it for you right now. Your mother was a medical genius; she created many potent medicines to stop bleeding. I’ll go grab them!

Ending the mental link, He Yanchu pushed He Yancheng out of the room.

“Don’t worry, Brother Cheng. My mom left me some medicine with great healing properties. You go back down first; I’ll find it and bring it down for him.”

Outside the door, He Yancheng was utterly confused. Xiaochu’s personality is getting weirder and weirder. Why do you have to push me out and lock the door just to find some medicine?

Inside, Yanchu re-entered the space. Kongling had already laid out the supplies from the warehouse. The little spirit ran over excitedly. “Master, I found all the hemostatic medicines! These are all top-tier; any of these will work wonders!”

Yanchu took the five vials Kongling offered. “Thanks, Kongling. Can you also check if there’s a military canteen in the warehouse? I want to bring some Spirit Spring water out for him to help him recover faster.”

Kongling tilted her head thoughtfully. “There are plenty of canteens. Ordinary Spirit Spring water is great for general health, but for severe injuries, it usually takes long-term consumption to see a result. However, Master could try the water from the very source of the spring—it’s much more potent!”

Yanchu’s eyes lit up. “Show me!”

Under Kongling’s guidance, she reached a small spring at the head of the stream. The water was crystal clear, glowing with a faint blue tint.

“You have to dilute this with regular water. No more than three drops at a time,” Kongling warned seriously. “Otherwise, the effect will be too obvious, and people will get suspicious.”

Yanchu found a small porcelain bottle in the warehouse and carefully filled it with the source water. As she prepared to leave, she caught sight of familiar plants in the medicinal field.

“Is that… ginseng?” She walked closer in shock, discovering not just ginseng, but lingzhi mushrooms, fleeceflower root, and various other rare herbs.

“The previous master was a master of Chinese medicine!” Kongling introduced proudly. “These have been growing for years. Their potency is a hundred times stronger than anything outside!”

Yanchu felt a surge of excitement. She plucked a small strand of ginseng root and wrapped it up carefully.

Leaving the space, she bolted straight for the room where Han Qingmo was staying. As she reached the door, she heard Uncle Zhang’s voice: “The other wounds are treated, but he’s lost too much blood from the thigh and it won’t stop. I don’t have any strong hemostatic powder left, so I can’t even bandage it properly.”

She knocked softly. “Uncle Zhang, can I come in?”

“Xiaochu, come in quickly,” He Yancheng called out.

She pushed the door open to see Han Qingmo leaning against the headboard, looking ghostly pale. Uncle Zhang was packing his kit, and He Yancheng stood by the bed.

“Thank you for your hard work, Uncle Zhang.” Yanchu walked over with a smile and pulled a porcelain vial from her sleeve. “This is a hemostatic medicine my mother left behind. Could you see if he can use it?”

Uncle Zhang’s eyes widened. “Oh, that’s perfect! Anything from your mother is bound to be premium quality. I’ll apply it directly.”

He took the vial and sprinkled the powder over Han Qingmo’s thigh. The bleeding stopped almost instantly.

Uncle Zhang gasped. “I knew your mother was a miracle worker, but this… the effect is incredible! The bleeding stopped the second the powder touched the skin. It’s like magic!”

He Yancheng leaned in curiously. “Let me see… wow, it really works! Xiaochu, do you have any extra? Could you give me some?”

Without a word, Yanchu reached into her pocket and handed him a spare vial.

It was only then that Yanchu noticed her second cousin was missing. “Brother Cheng, where’s Brother Hua?”

He Yancheng rubbed his nose guiltily. “Uh… I sent him to get my dad. This is a big deal, we have to tell the old man. If he finds out later on his own, he’ll blow his top.”

Recalling her Second Uncle’s explosive temper, Yanchu felt a shiver run down her spine. If Second Uncle finds out, he’s going to give me such a lecture, she groaned inwardly.

“Brother Cheng! Couldn’t you have waited? Second Uncle is going to scold me for sure!”

Just as she spoke, a flurry of footsteps echoed outside. He Yanhua arrived, breathless, with He Jiashu (Second Uncle) and Yang Donghui (Second Aunt) in tow.

“What’s going on? I heard Xiaochu brought home a wounded man?” He Jiashu demanded as he stepped into the room, his eyes scanning Han Qingmo warily.

Yang Donghui rushed to Yanchu’s side, taking her hands and checking her over. “Yanchu, are you okay? Why did you go up the mountain all by yourself?”

“Auntie, I’m fine. I just felt a bit cooped up at home and wanted to dig for some wild greens. I stumbled upon Comrade Han by accident,” Yanchu replied quickly.

He Yancheng stepped forward to explain. “Dad, Mom, this is Comrade Han. He’s a soldier who got injured on the mountain.”

Enduring the pain, Han Qingmo struggled to sit up. “Uncle, Auntie… hello. My name is Han Qingmo.”

The moment He Jiashu heard the word “soldier,” his cold, suspicious glare vanished, replaced by an attitude of immediate respect. He rushed forward to stop Han Qingmo from moving. “Don’t get up! You’re injured. Just lie down and rest.”

He turned to the doctor. “Old Zhang, how’s his condition?”

Uncle Zhang took the hint and spoke up. “He’ll be fine. We’ve bandaged him up. As long as he rests quietly, he’ll be fully recovered in a month or so.”
