“Shut up! Are you trying to attract everyone here?” The man they called Boss came over and smacked him on the back of the head.
“Sorry, Boss. I was just too excited. I promise I won’t do it again. Please, go ahead.” Monkey covered the back of his aching head and bowed apologetically.
“You three, be careful when you go inside. If you attract anyone’s attention, I’ll break your legs.” After issuing the threat, the Boss entered through the gate.
“Boss, don’t you think something is strange? Why are all the doors of this villa open?” Monkey had intended to open the villa’s main door, but who would have thought it was already unlocked?
“What could possibly be wrong? Maybe that’s just how rich people live.” The Boss did not take his words seriously.
Monkey thought the Boss had a point. Who knew how rich people thought?
“Boss, why is this family so poor? There’s nothing in the living room except a sofa and a table.” Monkey was stunned when he saw the state of the living room.
“Let’s search upstairs. I refuse to believe that people who live in a villa could be this poor.” The Boss was also furious when he saw the empty living room.
“You’ve got some nerve, breaking into my home to steal.” Li Quan could not stand watching any longer, so he simply came out.
“Who’s talking? Stop hiding. We know you’re here.” Hearing someone speak, the thieves nervously gathered together.
“You’ve got some nerve coming here to steal when you’re this timid. I really don’t understand what you were thinking. I’m on the stairs.” Li Quan could barely stand watching them.
“Wasn’t this family supposed to be out? Why are you here? Are you one of us?” Monkey bombarded him with questions the moment he saw him.
“Don’t you case a place before you steal from it? Didn’t you know there are three people living in this villa?” Li Quan was becoming increasingly suspicious of Xiao Jue’s intentions.
“Enough nonsense. Since you’re one of the people living here, you should know where the valuable things are. Hand them over if you know what’s good for you, or don’t blame us for what happens next.” The Boss spoke to him threateningly.
“I’d like to see exactly what you plan to do.” As Li Quan spoke, he walked down the stairs.
“Don’t move, or don’t blame the knife in my hand for being merciless.” The Boss pointed the dagger in his hand at him.
Li Quan did not want to waste time with them, so he rushed forward and quickly knocked every one of them to the ground.
“Great Hero, please spare us! This is our first time doing something like this. Please show us some mercy.” Realizing they had encountered someone far tougher than them, Monkey hurriedly begged for mercy.
“Keep dreaming. I’m taking all of you to the police station right now.” Li Quan took some rope and tied them all up.
“Get in.” Li Quan took them to the garage, picked out an SUV, stuffed them all inside, and then drove them to the police station himself.
Li Quan had dealt with his trouble, but Ling Yan had run into trouble of her own.
“We haven’t been out for a few days, and things outside have gotten increasingly chaotic. They actually dare to stop cars and rob people in broad daylight.” Ling Yan looked at the roadblock ahead of them.
“Big Sister, stay in the car. I’ll deal with them.” After saying this, Xiao Jue unfastened his seat belt and got out.
Seeing him leave, Ling Yan calmly took out some snacks and started eating.
“If you want to pass through here, pay a toll.” Seeing someone in the car, one of the men blocking the road spoke arrogantly.
“This road belongs to everyone. What gives you the right to collect tolls?” Xiao Jue looked at them coldly.
“Because I’m the Boss here. If you know what’s good for you, hand over your money obediently, or don’t blame the weapons in our hands.” A fierce-looking man approached with a dagger.
“All of you come at me together. I’m in a hurry to go shopping with Big Sister.” Xiao Jue also pulled a dagger from his waist.
Big Sister had made him carry it for self-defense before they left today.
“Get him, boys! Make sure we beat this brat senseless today!” Enraged by Xiao Jue, the vicious-looking man ordered his lackeys to attack together.
Seeing so many people surrounding him, Ling Yan lowered the car window and asked, “Little Brother, are you sure you don’t need me to come down and help?”
“Big Sister, it’s too hot outside. Just stay comfortably in the car and wait for me. These people aren’t worth worrying about.” After saying this, Xiao Jue began fighting.
Xiao Jue’s martial arts skills were quite good. None of those people even managed to touch the hem of his clothes before he knocked them all to the ground.
Seeing how capable he was, the fierce-looking man immediately realized that they had encountered someone they could not afford to provoke.
He therefore changed his target and headed toward the car, thinking that the woman inside should be much easier to deal with.
Ling Yan raised an eyebrow as she watched him approach. Had he really mistaken her for an easy target?
Ling Yan unlocked the car, deliberately giving him an opportunity to make his move.
The burly man walked over to the driver’s side, yanked the door open, and prepared to grab Ling Yan.
“How did you ever get the idea that I couldn’t pose a threat to you?” Ling Yan did not give him any chance to react before kicking him.
“Ah!” The burly man let out a miserable cry, and all of his lackeys shuddered when they heard him.
“Looks like you’ve been doing this for more than just a day or two. Tell me, where have you taken all the supplies?” Ling Yan walked over to the burly man and planted one foot on his chest.
“Please spare me, Heroine! We only started doing this recently. We really haven’t managed to rob much.” The burly man begged for mercy.
“Do you take me for an idiot? Look at how well-fed and strong you all are. You don’t look like good people to me. Besides, the police don’t have enough manpower right now. Tell me, if a few people disappeared from this world, do you think anyone would care?” Ling Yan crouched down and spoke to him.
“You wouldn’t dare! Killing people is against the law. Even if the police are too busy right now, once the temperature returns to normal, someone will definitely report my death.” The burly man spoke harshly despite his fear.
“Are you joking with me? By then, who would even be able to find me?” Ling Yan was completely defeated by his way of thinking.
“Heroine, please spare me. I’ll take you to where we’ve hidden the supplies.” Seeing her dagger slowly approaching, the burly man was genuinely frightened.
“You should have said that from the beginning. Xiao Jue, get some rope and tie them all up.” Ling Yan found some rope in their vehicle and tossed it to Xiao Jue.
“Big Sister, what should we do with them?” Xiao Jue pointed at the several lackeys and asked her.
“Of course we’re taking them with us! How could we separate them from their Boss? That would be far too cruel to them.” As she spoke, Ling Yan stuffed all of them into the car.
“Big Sister, I’ll drive this vehicle. You can just drive your own.” Xiao Jue opened the car door before she could and climbed inside.
Ling Yan merely shrugged. As far as she was concerned, either vehicle was fine.
Following the address given by the group, they arrived at an old, dilapidated warehouse in the outskirts.
“Looks like you’ve robbed quite a lot.” Ling Yan looked at the supplies piled up inside the warehouse.
“You stole all this stuff and still weren’t caught? Did you kill the people you robbed?” Ling Yan walked around the warehouse before returning to question them.
“No, we let everyone go. Killing people is against the law. At most, we only robbed them.” The burly man answered.
“Xiao Jue, he’s not being honest. What do you think we should do?” Ling Yan asked Xiao Jue.
“We should do whatever Big Sister says. Things outside are already about to descend into chaos anyway. Even if we killed them, no one would bother to interfere.” Xiao Jue pulled out his dagger and pressed it against the burly man’s neck.
“Please spare me! Please spare us!” Feeling the dagger pierce the flesh of his neck, the burly man hurriedly begged for mercy.
