“Mm, this is comfortable. Nothing beats sleeping until you wake up naturally.” Ling Yan got out of bed and leisurely began washing up.

“It smells so good. My cooking really is impeccable.” After freshening up, she made herself a lavish sandwich and started eating.

Once she had finished tidying everything up, she headed to the garage.Full novel: Soul Transmigrated into the Apocalypse: This Young Lady Refuses to Be a Saint — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She walked straight toward a Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle.

“Darling, I’ll spoil you today.” Ling Yan put on her helmet, twisted the throttle, and with a roar, rode out of the garage.

After riding for an hour, she stopped outside a farmhouse.

The moment she stopped, more than a dozen men dressed in black rushed out from all directions.

“Lead the way.” Ling Yan casually tossed her motorcycle key to one of the men in black before walking inside.

“It seems the orphanage really is important to you. You haven’t had lunch yet, have you? Come and eat with me.” Dr. Jin spoke as though he were welcoming an old friend he had not seen in years.

“I happen to be hungry, so I won’t stand during the ceremony.” Ling Yan was not afraid that he would poison her. After all, she had never intended to leave this place alive today.

“Come on, my most perfect creation. You must have missed home, right?” Dr. Jin rose and walked over to a vase. With a gentle twist, a hidden passage appeared.

“Enough! Give me my things.” Once they reached the laboratory, Dr. Jin wasted no time and demanded the chip.

“Old Man Jin, aren’t you worried that I’ll destroy this place until there’s nothing left?” Ling Yan did not take out the chip. Instead, she looked at him and asked the question.

“0228, you’re underestimating my laboratory. Destroying this place is nothing but a fool’s dream.” Dr. Jin let out a disdainful laugh.

“Is that so? Then I’m afraid I’m going to disappoint you. I came back this time specifically to destroy this place, and I’m going to use the very chip you’ve been dreaming about to do it.”

Ling Yan watched as his expression slowly darkened, and she smiled in delight.

“What did you do?” Dr. Jin asked, his face dark as he stared at her.

“Old Man Jin, you’re not the only person in this world who knows how to conduct research. I simply paid a huge sum of money to hire an expert to make something for me.” Ling Yan savored the sight of him losing his temper.

“Someone come and lock 0228 in the isolation room,” Dr. Jin ordered the men in black outside.

Ling Yan watched as everyone outside rushed in, then broke into an extraordinarily beautiful smile.

“Bye-bye, Old Man Jin. Let’s go to hell together.”

Ling Yan pulled out a gun from somewhere and, without the slightest hesitation, shot herself directly in the heart.

The moment she took out the gun, Dr. Jin had already started running outside. Unfortunately, fate was not on his side. The instant he took a step out, the bomb Ling Yan had hidden on her body exploded, blowing him to pieces.

In a luxurious bedroom, a beautiful woman lay on the bed. She had a delicate oval face, a petite, refined nose, and cherry-red lips that looked naturally healthy. Her fair, luminous skin made her look just like a sleeping beauty from a fairy tale.

Suddenly, the woman on the bed opened her eyes. Her gaze carried an invisible killing intent, but after surveying her surroundings, confusion gradually filled her eyes.

“Strange, where is this? Didn’t I die together with Old Man Jin?”

The woman on the bed was none other than Ling Yan, who had been killed in the explosion.

“My head hurts.”

Memories from the original owner’s entire life suddenly flooded into Ling Yan’s mind.

“Good heavens, do you really have it out for me? I never had an easy life over there, and now you’ve gone and thrown me straight into the apocalypse. What did I ever do to you? Why are you treating me like this?” Ling Yan, completely devoid of hope, collapsed back onto the bed.

As it turned out, she had transmigrated into the novel, and not just any novel, but the apocalypse novel she had recently finished reading, Apocalypse: Destruction.

Her current identity was the Young Lady of the richest family in S City.

The current point in the story was the period immediately after her parents’ deaths.

Because her parents had passed away so suddenly, she had been wandering around in a daze these past few days.

Then, while distracted and descending the stairs, she had accidentally fallen down them, which had led to Ling Yan’s arrival in her body.

The girl had been far too well protected by her family, and someone like her would have no way of surviving in the apocalypse.

Ling Yan remembered that the novel had mentioned that, because the family’s butler protected her, this girl managed to survive for four or five years after the apocalypse began.

However, the butler was eventually bitten to death by a zombie while protecting her.

As an ordinary woman with no supernatural ability, she had no way to protect the remaining supplies.

In the end, her supplies were stolen, and unable to endure life in the apocalypse any longer, the girl took her own life.

She had been only twenty-five when she died, and now Ling Yan had entered her body at the age of twenty.

“Maybe I should just die on that day too? I really don’t want to live through the apocalypse. It would be much better to die peacefully at the beginning while I’m still comfortable.” The more Ling Yan thought about it, the more reasonable the idea seemed.

“Ouch, the memories are already over, so why does my head still hurt?” Ling Yan’s face turned pale from the pain, and it felt as though her head were about to explode.

After roughly half an hour, the pain gradually subsided. Ling Yan now looked as though she had just been pulled out of water, her entire body drenched in sweat.

She struggled to get out of bed and, following the memories of this body, found the bathroom and began washing up.

Fifteen minutes later, the sound of running water stopped. Ling Yan emerged from the bathroom wearing a bathrobe, rubbing her hair dry with a towel.

She sat down beside the bed and closed her eyes, focusing on the things inside her mind.

“Isn’t this Old Man Jin’s chip? It was blown up along with me back then, so how did it survive? Is it refusing to accept its fate and has now followed me here to get revenge?”

Ling Yan could clearly sense the shape of the chip inside her mind.

Suddenly, the chip transformed into countless specks of starlight and disappeared from her mind. Just as she wondered whether she had imagined it, a vast space appeared before her.

“Did Old Man Jin’s chip contain a spatial ability? Then what’s with all this surrounding fog? Could there be something hidden inside it?”

Ling Yan walked toward the fog, but when she reached it and tried to move forward, an invisible barrier seemed to block her path.

Seeing that she could not pass through the fog, Ling Yan did not dwell on it.

For now, she felt that Heaven had not treated her too badly. Although it had sent her into the apocalypse, it had also given her a spatial ability.

The space was not small either. It was roughly the size of thirty football fields.

With this space, she would not have to worry about going hungry or lacking warm clothes. There were still five months before the apocalypse, so she planned to travel all over the country during that time and stock up on supplies.

“Knock, knock. Young Lady, are you awake? You still have to attend the Xiao family’s banquet today.”

Just as she was thinking about how to stock up on supplies, she heard someone calling her.

“The Xiao family? That poor little thing? Isn’t that the family of the villain who eventually wanted to destroy the apocalypse but was killed off by the author?”

Ling Yan remembered that the villain in the novel was surnamed Xiao.

“That little guy is pretty pitiful too. The current head of the Xiao family married his mother for the sake of an alliance, but when she gave birth to the little guy, Mrs. Xiao suffered massive bleeding and could not be saved. The newborn baby was then branded by his biological father as someone who had brought about his mother’s death.”

“I remember the villain is only nineteen this year. He’s still just a child.”

Just after his wife had passed the seventh day of mourning, the head of the Xiao family brought his mistress home and officially made her the new matriarch of the Xiao family.

How could anyone expect a stepmother to treat her husband’s child well? At best, she beat and verbally abused him, and at worst, she beat him badly enough to send him to the hospital.

When the servant knocked on the door again, Ling Yan came back to her senses.

“Got it. I’ll come down in a little while.”

Ling Yan looked at the reflection in the mirror, which was almost identical to her own, and gave a charming smile.

“Since you brought me here, then whether I save that poor little thing today will be up to your will. Heads, I save him. Tails, it has nothing to do with me.”

Ling Yan picked up a coin from the table and tossed it into the air.

The coin spun on the table more than a dozen times before gradually coming to a stop. When Ling Yan saw which side was facing up, she clicked her tongue.

“Young Lady, you’re downstairs. These are the latest season’s formal dresses. Which one would you like to wear today?” A middle-aged man dressed like a butler invited her over.

Ling Yan’s slender fingers lightly brushed over a row of dresses. When they reached a wine-red dress, she stopped.

“This one. Butler Li, tell the stylist not to come. It’s not worth the trouble just for a trip to the Xiao family.”

After choosing her dress, she went to the dining table and began eating.

“Yes, Young Lady. I’ll have them go back right away.” Butler Li picked up his phone and called them, telling them all to return.
