“Host, come spend some money!”
“You have a balance now!”
Si Junni casually brushed it off, “Next time for sure.”
Then she turned her gaze toward the depths of the forest, hesitating slightly before finally choosing to leave hand in hand with her “bestie.”
The Awakening site was set up at the central square of Yanyang City. Each school would organize their students in advance to come together.
When Si Junni and Li Yanyan arrived at the gathering point, almost all the students were already there. On such an important day, everyone arrived early—even the most careless wouldn’t choose to be late today.
But just then…
“Si Junni! What time is it already? Why don’t you wait until everyone finishes their Awakening before showing up? With that attitude, I doubt you’ll Awaken to anything worthwhile!”
The homeroom teacher of Class Seven was a balding old man surnamed Cui. Even though both of them were late, he seemed to only notice Si Junni.
As for Li Yanyan, he merely sighed, shook his head slightly, and gave her a disapproving look.
Si Junni had originally planned to keep a low profile this lifetime, but some people just couldn’t help pushing her buttons!
“Are your eyes not working? Can’t you see that Li Yanyan here was about to die! If I hadn’t bravely stepped in just now, you’d be attending your student’s funeral tomorrow, you know that!”
Li Yanyan’s expression… was a bit forced. Alright, alright, it’s all my fault! But it wasn’t wrong to say that—she really was about to die! It hurt so much!
Everyone was stunned by Si Junni’s outburst. They had hardly heard her speak all year, and she rarely even lifted her head. Who would’ve thought… she could be so fierce!
It was already time to depart, and the school leaders had arrived. Cui Jianbo glared fiercely at Si Junni and lowered his voice, “We’ll settle this after the Awakening.”
Si Junni nodded with a smile, “No problem.”
Once on the bus, Si Junni immediately took the single seat in the first row. Her own comfort mattered most—other people’s opinions were irrelevant.
When Cui Jianbo boarded and saw this, his anger flared up instantly. “Move to the back!”
“I get motion sickness. If I sit in the back and feel sick, it’ll affect my Awakening. Will you take responsibility?”
“You…”
“What’s the leaders’ phone number again? Maybe I should go squeeze in with them?”
Cui Jianbo even began to suspect that Si Junni had been possessed by a Monster Beast. Before, no matter how much he scolded her, she wouldn’t utter a word. But now, for every word he said, she seemed ready to retort with ten!
“Si Junni, do you even understand respect for teachers? You’re just bringing shame to your mother!”
“That’s right, are you acting all high and mighty just because you’re a martyr’s family member?”
Si Junni remained completely unaffected as she listened to these brats spewing their venomous words.
Zero damage, honestly.
“Cursing before Awakening, tsk tsk, you lot have no chance of bringing glory to your ancestors!”
“Damn! Si Junni, how can you be so vicious!”
Si Junni nodded, looking utterly indifferent. The word “vicious” wasn’t half bad in certain situations.
In the end, it was Lu Yu, sitting in the second row, who voluntarily stood up and offered his seat to the teacher, allowing them to finally set off. Lu Yu looked at Si Junni curiously, his eyes filled with admiration.
He wanted to strike up a conversation, but seeing Si Junni close her eyes to rest, unwilling to speak further, he gave up.
Once Si Junni closed her eyes, she began reciting the heart-calming incantation.According to the records in books, during Awakening, one must maintain emotional stability and a clear mind, as this increases the likelihood of a successful Awakening.
The types of Awakening are relatively broad, divided into Enhancement Type, Natural Element, Summoning Type, Support Type, and Special Type.
There are five types in total, with energies corresponding to the colors red, yellow, blue, green, and black, respectively.
Enhancement Type primarily involves strengthening various parts of the body and is considered the most common type of Awakened. Generally, these individuals possess powerful physiques and often find their future paths in the military or the Guard Department.
Natural Element refers to metal, wood, water, fire, earth, thunder, darkness, light, and so on…
Natural Element Awakened and Enhancement Type Awakened are the most numerous, but these two types of special abilities are completely opposite in nature.
Enhancement Type is stronger in the early stages, while Natural Element is not very useful initially. Only when one possesses skills and has enough energy to release them does it become truly effective.
Although Natural Element becomes incredibly powerful once developed, capable of wiping out groups of fragile opponents with a single move, there is a prerequisite: it must be developed!
In the early stages, Natural Element abilities consume too much energy, and without resources to support growth, progress is difficult.
Only through frequent battles, acquiring resources, and using spirit crystals for cultivation can one have the opportunity to ascend rank. However, if you use up all your energy casting a fireball and have no money to buy an Ability Recovery Potion, no one will want to team up with you!
But once you truly reach the later stages, the benefits and treatment improve immediately. Not only are you highly sought after by major mercenary groups, but you also have the opportunity to join the nation’s special forces.
As for Summoning Type, it is a category with significant variation.
Some people summon powerful Mutant Beasts, mutant plants, or indestructible top-tier weapons, while others might only summon a useless drawing brush.
Apart from drawing, it truly serves no purpose…
Support Type is easier to understand. These individuals have no combat ability themselves but are absolutely key figures on the Battlefield.
Or, in high-level matches, a good Support Type is the key to ultimate victory.
As for Special Type, the variety is endless. Any imaginable bizarre special ability is categorized under Special Type, such as storage space, Temporal Ability, flight, invisibility, Beast Transformation…
There was a post pinned for a long time on online forums, which said that during Awakening, one should desperately imagine the type of special ability they most desire.
This would increase the likelihood of Awakening that type.
Si Junni carefully considered which type would be most suitable for her.
First, she ruled out Support Type. Si Junni never played support roles in games before—if the damage output was lacking, she’d get so frustrated she’d want to take up a weapon herself.
Natural Element abilities are quite appealing, allowing one to enjoy the perfect spectacle of “explosions,” and resources wouldn’t be an issue either, as they could be exchanged from the System Shop.
Although Enhancement Type abilities are relatively common, they align well with Si Junni’s understanding. As the Master’s only disciple,
Si Junni is skilled in Tai Chi, Xingyi, and Bagua. If the Awakening strengthens the body, then an Enhancement Type Awakening would be a perfect match for her expertise.
Additionally, the storage space and Temporal Ability within Special Type are quite enticing.
Without storage space, Temporal Ability reigns supreme.
This saying is enough to prove the absolute dominance of these two abilities.
Among current Awakened, storage space Awakened are already few in number, while Temporal Ability Awakened are even rarer, with only one known individual: the president of Divine Dragon University, Elder Zheng Anguo, a stabilizing force akin to a pillar of the sea.Si Junni thought this far and decided… when it was her turn to Awaken, she would only focus on the four words “space” and “time” in her mind!
Moreover, she had already drawn “storage space” from the lottery. If she could also Awaken Spatial Ability, it would indeed complement well for combined use.
