10 – Everyone Saw Him Cursing

Chu Lanyan didn’t pay much attention to this, her gaze only lingering on Chu Ruan’s now vastly different demeanor and face.

“Mom, did you see? She even drew a butterfly on her face, putting on airs,” Chu Lanyan curled her lips disdainfully.Full novel: Spoiled! Mrs. Fu’s Rebirth Causes a Sensation in the City — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Meng Yanfei ignored this and snorted lightly, “She came back home without bringing anything. It was fine when she used to quarrel with Fu Chenxuan before, but now she doesn’t even know to show some filial respect to the family.”

“It’s not that the family lacks the money, but it’s the thought that counts.”

“Mom, I think sister has grown too proud. Look at what she said today—what does she mean by ‘things shouldn’t be left at home after marriage’? Isn’t this still her maiden home?” Chu Lanyan echoed Meng Yanfei’s sentiments.

After the mother and daughter chatted for a while, Chu Lanyan went upstairs.

Her first task was to call Ji Qingyun and share the good news that she could meet Saint Laurent!

In the Fu family’s car, Nan Qing occasionally glanced at the silent Chu Ruan through the rearview mirror, a strange feeling flickering in his heart.

He had seen Chu Ruan before—though only once or twice when ordered to deliver gifts to her—but the girl he saw then was nothing like the one today!

Though her face was the same, it felt like two completely different people.

Could it be that the kidnappers had frightened her so badly that she suddenly came to her senses?

Nan Qing shook his head slightly, withdrew his gaze, and fiddled with a badge on his chest, cutting off the communication with Fu Chenxuan.

The young madam probably never imagined that President Fu had been observing the situation from his office all along.

Thinking of the young madam’s earlier performance, Nan Qing couldn’t help but ponder.

He wondered how she would explain herself to President Fu.

But then again, no explanation was needed—whatever the young madam said, President Fu would listen.

When Chu Ruan returned home, she handed the items she brought to the maid, “Please… throw these things away.”

As soon as she returned home, why was she stumbling over her words again?

“Yes,” the maid accepted them. “Would Miss Chu like to have lunch?”

Chu Ruan touched her stomach and nodded, then turned to look at Nan Qing who had followed her inside, “Would you… would you like to join me?”

“No need, I need to return to the company. Is there anything you’d like me to bring to President Fu?” Nan Qing asked.

Chu Ruan shook her head, “Just… if there’s nothing… I’ll wait for him to have dinner together.”

Nan Qing acknowledged and turned to leave.

Chu Ruan quietly ate her lunch, then returned to the room she previously stayed in. After looking around, she began moving things.

She wanted to move all her belongings to Xuan’s room.

When Nan Qing returned to the company and went to see Fu Chenxuan, “President Fu.”

The handsome man behind the spacious desk lifted his eyes, “How did it go?”

“You saw everything. After returning home, the young madam only asked you to come home early for dinner and threw away all the things she brought back,” Nan Qing reported matter-of-factly.

A pleased curve appeared at the corner of Fu Chenxuan’s lips, “What are your thoughts?”

Nan Qing shook his head, “Regarding the young madam’s changes, I still can’t figure out the reasons and motives. But her concern for the Chu family has never changed.”

Fu Chenxuan sneered, a trace of contempt flashing in his eyes as he instructed his subordinate, “Compared to Yexiao, your ability to read people still falls short. Just wait and see.”

Nan Qing hesitated slightly, “Understood.”

Fu Chenxuan pressed the intercom and said to his secretary outside, “Cancel all my afternoon and evening schedules.”Since his darling wanted to wait for him to have dinner together, why should he waste time on these trivial matters?

But before heading home, there was one more thing he needed to do.
