Immortal World brat?

Brat?

Neo found that uncalled for.Full novel: SSS-Rank Lord Supreme: The Ultimate Devourer — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Maybe the one you descended from was definitely a brat.”

Neo already said it, before he realized the words had left his mouth.

Raela was shocked.

“You definitely have some guts.”

Neo felt that calling someone’s ancestor a brat wasnt the most noble thing he had ever done, but he wasn’t going to back down now.

“If you hold the view that everyone from the Immortal World is a brat.

The one you descended from is definitely one too.”

“All my ancestors are denizens of this mortal world.”

Raela was fiercely proud of this fact.

Neo looked at her.

Did she really believe that.

“Then it must be some very distant ancestor then.

Like the one who made you having a bloodline possible.”

Neo then cocked his head.

“And why do you keep calling it the mortal world.

Isn’t the Primordial Dawn Region of the Immortal World its proper name?”

Raela seemed to deflate.

“What does it matter the name it is called.

You can only ever remain a mortal here.”

Her eyes drifted to the bleak sky of the true outlands.

“Immortal World.

Mortal world.

All of it is our home.”

Neo shook his head.

“You seem so interested in the Immortal World up there, you have even taken on some their mannerisms.

The name does matter.”

“Yeah.

Who better to know that than the one kicked out of the Immortal World.”

Neo didn’t bother gracing that with a reply.

“What did you mean by family?”

“Exactly what it sounds like.

We are people who have gathered together to support each other.

Unlike clans, creed is what holds us together, not bloodline.”

She saw Neo pay more attention at those words.

“There are not that many bloodline bearers in the first place.

Most of our higher rank experts are people with no bloodline.

Some of them also came from the Immortal World.”

Neo stared at her.

“No one comes here from the Immortal World.

They were cast down.”

She stared back.

Her meaning was clear.

Neo changed the topic.

“What is the ascension you mentioned all about?”

She snorted again.

Seeming to mouth something under her breath.

It sounded like Immortal World brat.

“Even if I have a bloodline.

I can’t ascend to immortality without the permission of the Immortal World up there.

So, your words about becoming an immortal and being whisked away to the Immortal World was childish.”

“What permission do you need to ascend to Immortality?” Neo found this laughable.

Raela found him unbelievable.

“You really don’t know?”

“Know what now?”

She shook her head.

“I don’t know how it is up there.

But ascending to immortality from this place requires one to perform some really demanding task.

And the slots for ascension are limited every century.”

Neo found this shocking.

He almost laughed out of anger.

Damned immortals.

They cast people down here, and still make it hell to climb up.

This was nothing but suppression.

Neo wasn’t slaving for anyone by doing some stupid task.

He dared anyone to stand in his path.

By the time he was going to leave this place, no one would even dare stop him.

His eyes were set on the very peak.

He wasn’t just going for the Ex-Rank.

He was going for its absolute peak.

The absolute limit of the Ex-Rank.

With a bloodline like Devour, it would be a shame to not even try.

Raela didn’t know what he was thinking, but she could guess.

His eyes held a deep defiance.

“No one can defy the Immortal World.”

Neo smiled.

“No one,” he spoke the words clearly, “can defy me.”

Raela was shocked.

But she felt he was being silly.

He was just being an Immortal World brat again.

All of them always strutting around with the belief that everything in the world would follow their whims.

They were all the same.

But she thought Neo himself wasn’t too bad.

“You are missing out on a lot, though.

As a bloodline bearer, there are a lot of benefits you can gain from the Adventurer Guild.

I am sure you haven’t disclosed this detail to the Adventurer Guild.”

Neo shook his head.

“How were you even cast down here if you had a bloodline.”

“Special circumstances.”

Raela didn’t buy that, but she didn’t bother him about it.

For now.

“Meet me at the Eel Spark inn when you return to the East Immortal Fort.

There are a lot of things you need to know.”

Neo agreed to honor her invitation.

The two returned back to the others.

Everyone studied the two.

What were they discussing that took so long.

“Team Leader Mia, I wish you and your team good luck.

We will be on our way.”

Raela told her.

“Thank you, Team Leader Raela.”

Raela nodded.

She and her team disappeared.

They left the true outlands.

Their essence cultivation was beyond the limit of this zone.

They wouldn’t be there if not for special circumstances.

One like finding the location of the Demon World army.

Mia and her team were the only ones left.

They were out of the demon army’s range.

Neo felt the gaze of everyone settle on him.

He thought there would be questions.

But everyone remained silent.

Not even Derek said anything.

He was always quick to say something.

Now, he remained silent.

There was just the silence.

It was not even a comfortable one.

He looked at Sofia.

He never expected her to not even say a word.

She avoided his gaze.

Her eyes staring into the air.

Neo sighed.

Mia broke the awkward situation with a sharp command.

“Everyone, get yourselves together, we have missions to complete.”

That was right.

There was still a lot to do.

It seemed this matter would be shelved for now.

There wasn’t much that happened as they completed their missions and left the true outlands.

It was pretty much uneventful after a scary situation like the one with the demon army.
