Study Room
A day had passed since I became the heir of the Forest of Origin and the Library of Knowledge, although I had not yet visited the latter.
That very night, I contacted Athena.
I wanted to know her opinion on whether we should tell my mother about all of this.
The truth was…
I wasn’t sure.
This new inheritance could bring great benefits to the clan.
But it could also awaken the ambitions of some…
and provoke betrayals.
In the end, with Athena’s guidance, I decided to keep it secret.
It would be my trump card in case a greater danger appeared.
For now, I needed to learn more.
That was why we were here.
In my mother’s study, where all of the clan’s information holocrons were stored.
Fortunately, this time I did not encounter anything strange.
Athena accompanied me.
She had taken the form of a small floating entity that hovered around my shoulder.
She wore an elegant white dress that accentuated her curves and left much to the imagination.
Honestly…
she was very sexy.
Unfortunately, I still had a long way to go before I could satisfy a woman.
—Young Master, it seems you’ve gotten lost in your thoughts again —she said with a mischievous smile as she adjusted her long hair.— Do you like this dress?
Damn.
Damn little fairy.
Sound of coughing.
—Yes, Athena…
you’re beautiful.
But let’s focus on what’s important.
Today we need to learn more about the clans of Concordia and Mandalore.
War is at our doorstep.
Yesterday I saw my mother when she returned from the clan meeting.
She was angry…
and worried.
Something had not gone well.
So I needed to investigate.
Allies.
Enemies.
Military strength.
Anything that could help the clan.
I sighed.
—Alright…
let’s begin, Athena.
Let’s investigate.
It’s going to be a long day.
She tilted her head slightly.
—Master, that won’t be necessary.
I blinked.
—What?
—One of my abilities is the analysis and compilation of information.
I can absorb all the data stored in these holocrons.
She paused briefly.
—It won’t take me more than five minutes.
I stared at her.
—Five minutes?
—That’s right.
I smiled slightly.
I am blessed.
I have an assistant that functions like a supercomputer.
And she’s beautiful as well.
—Very well, Athena.
I’ll leave it in your hands.
Then something astonishing happened.
Tiny threads of light began emerging from her hands.
The luminous filaments spread throughout the room, connecting themselves to every holocron.
It looked like a tree of glowing roots growing in every direction.
The sight was…
hypnotic.
And just as she had said…
not even five minutes passed.
—Master, I’m finished.
—I found all the information you were looking for…
as well as some recent records regarding your clan.
Records about the clan?
Ah.
Those must be my mother’s private holocrons.
Well…
sooner or later I would have reviewed them.
And they would probably be useful in the future. Find the original chapter at g.com.
—Alright, Athena.
Give me a summary.
I smiled.
That meant I wouldn’t have to spend the entire day locked in here.
—That won’t be necessary —she replied.
—Huh?
—I can transfer the information directly into your mind.
I raised an eyebrow.
—Thanks to the key you possess, I can store the data and transfer it to your brain whenever needed.
I will limit the amount to prevent any potential harm.
Then she placed her small hand on mine.
It was warm and soft.
At that moment, I felt something strange.
The stars surrounding the World Tree Yggdrasil began to shine, as if reacting to the new knowledge.
—Done, Master.
—You can now access the information whenever you wish.
Simply think about what you’re looking for, and it will appear.
—When we visit the Library of Knowledge, I will be able to teach you how to access much older records.
—For now, you only have access to this data.
I nodded.
—Thank you, Athena.
I took a deep breath.
—Let’s begin.
I thought:
Concordia.
The information immediately appeared within my mind.
It was similar to the way Tony Stark requested information from JARVIS, except that in this case the source was the Library of Knowledge.
The first title appeared before me.
CONCORDIA — MOON OF MANDALORE
Home to five ancient warrior clans.
I thought there would be more.
But living here was not easy.
The forests were filled with predators.
The mountains concealed dangerous creatures.
Even a Fierce Fang could die if they let their guard down.
Not to mention the villagers.
Furthermore, habitable areas were scarce.
This moon was primarily used for mining and exile.
Only a handful of clans had managed to survive here.
Even so, we were better off than those on Mandalore, where many were forced to live beneath domes because of the pollution left behind by ancient wars.
I continued analyzing the information.
Five clans.
The first…
My clan.
Clan Fen’ruus
The oldest clan on Concordia.
We have lived here for more than 500 years.
We once inhabited Mandalore, but the constant wars between clans forced us to migrate.
Here, we found the perfect place.
A great valley protected by mountains to the south.
And a vast forest to the north.
A natural fortress.
They could not attack our rear.
The only way to reach us was to cross the forest…
and survive the predators that lived there.
The information continued to appear.
Total Population:
5,000 inhabitants.
Of them:
50 Blood Cubs
150 Fierce Fangs
20 Dark Wolf Guardians
3 Abyss Wolf Lords
The rest worked in different sectors of the clan.
In Fen’ruus, no one was forced to become a warrior.
Every person chose their own destiny.
I thought of something.
If we compared our ranks to those of the Jedi…
The answer appeared.
Blood Cub — Adept
Fierce Fang — Padawan
Dark Wolf Guardian — Jedi Knight
Abyss Wolf Lord — Jedi Master
Our clan was strong.
But it had one problem.
Numbers.
Although my training chamber had already begun improving the clan’s overall strength.
With time…
that would change.
And now, with my new inheritance…
perhaps I would find a way to strengthen our warriors even further.
—Now…
the other clans.
Red Moon Clan
A neutral clan.
They inhabit a forest of gigantic red trees.
They specialize in close-quarters combat.
Their primary weapons are red daggers crafted from the wood of those trees.
Population: 10,000 inhabitants
Warriors: 800
Primary Activity: Exportation of redwood
Current Relations: Friendly
Black Flame Clan
Master blacksmiths.
They control mines rich in beskar and other valuable minerals.
Their primary weapons are blasters.
Population: 8,000 inhabitants
Warriors: 1,000
Current Relations: Stable
But the real problems were…
the other two clans.
Black Axe Clan and Clan Vask
Both belonged to House Vizsla.
They were the primary supporters of the coming Mandalorian Civil War, standing against the pacifist movement led by Duke Kryze and his daughter, the future Duchess Satine Kryze.
These clans controlled enormous mining operations.
And they possessed gigantic armies.
Black Axe Clan
20,000 inhabitants
10,000 mining slaves
5,000 warriors
Clan Vask
25,000 inhabitants
15,000 slaves and exiles
9,000 warriors
I frowned.
I was right.
Our greatest problem…
was numbers.
Even with the forest serving as a natural defense…
it would be difficult to withstand a large-scale assault.
I took a deep breath.
—That’s enough for now.
I opened my eyes.
I had returned to the study.
The sensation was strange.
Similar to when I first used the ancient holocron…
but now it was different.
Now, I was the heir.
All the information appeared before me like gigantic holograms of knowledge.
I suppose I’ll have to get used to it.
—Young Master —Athena said softly.— I see you’ve found your answers.
—An hour has passed.
I blinked.
—But…
it felt like two hours in there.
—When you use the key, your consciousness enters that world —she explained.— Time flows differently there.
I nodded slowly.
—Thank you, Athena.
I looked at the holocrons filling the room.
Now I understood something.
War was approaching.
And our clan…
was not ready.
But that was going to change.
A slight smile appeared on my face.
—Athena…
She looked at me.
—I think it’s time to take the next step.
Her eyes lit up.
—The Library of Knowledge?
I nodded.
—Yes.
Because if war was coming…
then I needed every piece of knowledge possible to survive it.
