Even without mentioning anything else, just having Pei Ye’s protection was enough for her to continue making waves in the apocalypse.

That was fate.

She could only hope Song Yu would face reality soon, or he’d have to endure some real suffering.Full novel: Starting with a Billion Supplies, the Villainous Female Supporting Character Wins the Apocalypse Easily — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Gu Feng shook his head, realizing there was little he could do, and moved to sit on the sofa.

In no time, Wen Yu came out of her room and headed straight for the kitchen.

Several dishes had already been prepared on the kitchen counter, each in a half-meter-wide basin.

Without a word, Wen Yu took a bunch of disposable food containers from her space and began portioning out the dishes.

Once packed, she returned them to the space, leaving only the amount needed for today on the table.

Song Yu glanced over and saw that Wen Yu was genuinely busy this time. Not looking for trouble, he went back to dealing with the fish on the cutting board.

“Cut thinner! The boss wants fish slices, not fish balls!”

Once Wen Yu finished portioning, she didn’t just sit back, but transferred the remaining food into plates and carried them to the dining table outside.

It was then that she noticed someone sitting on the sofa.

She was startled, realized it was Gu Feng, and nodded in acknowledgment as he looked back at her with a smile.

After setting seven dishes on the table, they began eating, leaving the rest for later.

This was Pei Ye’s ability squad’s first gathering. Wen Yu wasn’t stingy—she pulled a bottle of Romanée-Conti from her space.

Red wine with Chinese food was a bit unusual, but staying alert in the apocalypse was important. The wine was just right, even Song Yu, normally loud and rowdy, didn’t demand baijiu.

After the meal, Pei Ye and the others returned to the kitchen to continue cooking, while Wen Yu went back to her room to make the trade with Boss Wang.

Robot: @Apocalyptic Wen Yu, do you wish to transmit the following to @Interstellar Boss Wang: Spicy Boiled Pork Slices, Mao Xue Wang, Spicy Crab, Stir-Fried Squid, Hot and Sour Shredded Potatoes, Vinegar-Braised Cabbage, Tofu and Bean Sprout Soup, and several servings of white rice?

Apocalyptic Wen Yu: Yes.

Robot: Received — transmitting — transmission complete — settlement complete.

Robot: This exchange is complete. Total items received: one ion gun, 2000 bullets. Handling fee: 3 taels of gold. Exchange items stored in system warehouse. Remaining system account balance: 24 taels of gold.

Seeing the ion gun lying in the warehouse, Wen Yu immediately bounced on the bed like it was a trampoline.

“Hey! Who in the early apocalypse has a weapon from the interstellar era? Me! Wen Xiaoyu! I’m invincible!”

Excited, she restrained herself from taking out celebratory fireworks from her space.

She retrieved the ion gun.

Its black body gleamed with cold, hard metallic light—high-end, flashy, and captivating.

Wen Yu carefully wiped it with a soft cloth, then held it and began sketching motions.

She couldn’t actually fire it—too noisy and a waste of bullets—so she stood on the bed, imagining cinematic gunfight scenes, making “bang bang bang” sounds while striking poses, having the time of her life.

When she grew tired, lying back on the bed, she remembered her space.

She quickly slipped into the space, grabbed a target, and began practicing shooting skills.

Bullets were precious, and firing live rounds was both wasteful and dangerous, so practice couldn’t slack off.

Three consecutive shots, each scoring a perfect ten—Wen Yu was stunned.

Her last experience with shooting had been hitting balloons at a park, where even adjusted air guns were tricky to hit balloons with. She never expected she could score ten points three times in a row…

Could it be…

Wen Yu flipped the ion gun in her hands, realizing a possibility.

This high-tech weapon might automatically lock onto targets and fire with perfect accuracy.

Thrilled, she couldn’t wait to try it on zombies.

That afternoon, Pei Ye finished the remaining dishes and went out with Song Yu and the others.

Wen Yu didn’t ask much, simply stayed home to portion and store everything in her space.

Once all four, including Gu Feng, had left the villa, Wen Yu snuck out.

Pei Ye had another residence; normally, this villa was only Wen Yu’s.

The villa was built against the mountain to create an ecological garden-style community, with a fish pond at the foot of the hill. Before the apocalypse, many residents fished there.

Wen Yu’s plan: with no zombies in the villa, she’d fish at the pond and quickly test the ion gun’s hidden functions—so she wouldn’t be flustered on the battlefield.

Luckily, when she reached the back mountain on her hoverboard, she spotted a zombie sitting in a fishing pose by the pond.

She didn’t know why it kept its living posture.

But thinking that zombies falling into the pond could pollute the fish, she grabbed a rope, tied a loop, and started snaring it.

Lucky strike—she hooked the zombie’s head on the first try, dragged it twenty meters away like flying a kite, and fired a shot to its head.

The bullet pierced and exploded on impact.

The zombie’s head disintegrated into a mist of blood in the air.

Wen Yu shivered—partly scared, partly exhilarated.

The ion gun really had auto-aim, and its power was immense—one shot turned a zombie to mist.

Headless zombies were still terrifying, though, so Wen Yu immediately hopped on her hoverboard and sped home.

While traveling, she checked in with Mao Qiu:

[Mao Qiu: Keep watch for me; no one can see me using the ion gun!]

[Mao Qiu: Watching; no human activity within several miles.]

Even from miles away, no one could see her actions without high-powered binoculars.

Wen Yu exhaled in relief.

Back home, she washed up slightly, changed into comfortable loungewear, and reached for a fruit salad for afternoon tea. The villa door opened—and her appetite vanished.

“Lin Yitang, why won’t you leave? This is my home. Please leave now!”

She looked at Pei Ye, expecting him to intervene.

Pei Ye sighed, about to explain, but Song Yu interrupted.

“Wen Yu, were you raised properly? Boss, yelling at us men is one thing, but why are you so mean to girls?”

“Song Yu.” Pei Ye’s face darkened, but Song Yu, as usual, had no sense and was already worked up, ignoring Pei Ye’s intimidation and escalating further.

“Boss, I used to tolerate Wen Yu’s antics for your sake, but this time I can’t. Xiao Tang grew up with us in the orphanage and is closer than a real sister. Yet you let Wen Yu insult and chase her away. I’m done talking. If you make Xiao Tang leave, I won’t stay either!”

Pei Ye frowned, saying nothing more, but his expression grew colder.

Song Yu, unfazed, even shook off Cen Mo’s hand: “Don’t hold me back. I won’t compromise on this.”

He sneered: “Right, I misremembered. The boss came to the Wen family at age five and grew up with Miss Wen. Only we truly grew up in the orphanage. We were overreaching. Fine, we’ll leave.”

He moved to grab Lin Yitang.

Lin Yitang, seeing her peaceful life slipping away, refused. Tearfully, she clung to Song Yu’s sleeve, pleading:

“Brother Song Yu, please don’t oppose Miss Wen because of me, and don’t make Brother Pei Ye uncomfortable. I’ll do whatever…”
