“How do you mean?”

Pei Ye asked, and Wen Yu answered honestly: “Lin Yitang is someone who doesn’t do anything without gain. Do you think it makes sense that she spent so long comforting a group of women who have no abilities and will never meet again?”

“So, you’re saying the person raising zombies was among that group of women who scattered just now, and Lin Yitang knew all along.”Full novel: Starting with a Billion Supplies, the Villainous Female Supporting Character Wins the Apocalypse Easily — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Yes.”

‘Raising zombies’ sounded impressive.

Wen Yu hadn’t understood at first, but after Pei Ye briefly explained, she got it.

Those three zombies had seemed able to resist their bloodlust, but in reality, they were being controlled by a psychic ability user.

Wen Yu knew this type of ability: controlling zombies via mental power to kill without leaving a trace. But she hadn’t realized it could also be reversed to raise zombies…

Fifth Floor.

Janitor’s Closet.

Sheng Hui, now back in men’s clothing, crumpled the note in his hand and tossed it out the window.

The rain continued outside.

Acid rain could corrode not only the ground but ordinary glass as well, yet he didn’t step back—he stared through the downpour into the distance.

Since the apocalypse began, he had luckily awakened a psychic ability.

It allowed him to probe and control the mental seas of humans, and of course, he could also control zombies.

He was elated, confident he could survive the apocalypse.

But soon, he discovered the zombies’ secret.

Some zombies carried crystal cores, rich in energy and capable of rapidly boosting human abilities.

A neat freak, he didn’t want to wade daily into zombie mobs to kill them, yet he still wanted to enhance his ability. So he gathered a few subordinates and launched a “raising” plan.

First, he collected women with no means of resistance—those who urgently needed shelter and were easier to deceive.

After two days of providing good food and drink to lower their guard, he brought them out under the pretext of gathering supplies and confined them in the tech building.

At his level, he could control three zombies at a time.

Thus, each time, three women were turned into zombies.

If a crystal core was found, he killed immediately. When ability users leveled up, their desires surged, so he sought women to vent on. After venting, the women were turned into zombies again, and the cycle repeated.

But this comfortable routine lasted only a few days—today, Lin Yitang’s group had ruined everything.

Sheng Hui was furious, but he didn’t want to fight head-on. He could simply relocate and start over; no need to risk firearms unnecessarily.

Still… Lin Yitang…

Why had she handed him that note?

Wen Yu could roughly guess Lin Yitang’s purpose.

It was probably just in case Pei Ye became unreliable one day—she’d then find a new powerful ally.

But Wen Yu found it odd. In her memory of this novel, no super-powered psychic boss existed.

And Lin Yitang, as a reincarnated female lead, wouldn’t mistake who was powerful.

So this person’s appearance must be a plot correction—a “cheat” given to the protagonist.

Annoying, really.

You couldn’t avoid it, and you couldn’t guard against it.

Wen Yu was extremely agitated.

Pei Ye noticed her irritation, ruffling her hair gently. “Don’t worry. Whatever her purpose, I’m here.”

Yet, logically, he was supposed to be the female lead’s too!

Wen Yu grumbled internally.

She was just a cannon-fodder supporting character. In the story, she would die a tragic death.

Fortunately, with her underworld guarantee, she could survive on her own.

Still, it was irritating.

Thinking this, Wen Yu shot Pei Ye a sharp glare.

A chill ran down Pei Ye’s spine. Something felt off.

Sure enough, the next moment, Wen Yu grabbed his collar and shoved something into his mouth.

It melted instantly—he didn’t even taste whether it was salty or sweet before swallowing.

“What’s this?” Pei Ye asked instinctively.

Wen Yu gave a wicked smile. Coldly, she said: “Poison. If you dare betray me, you’ll hemorrhage from all seven orifices, your body will fester—worse than a zombie.”

If she was annoyed, she had to make up for it somehow. In the future, if they truly turned against each other, Pei Ye would at least hold some respect for her.

Pei Ye, however, laughed. He wrapped his arms around Wen Yu’s waist, lifting her slightly to meet her gaze.

“At your command, Young Lady.”

“……What?”

Wen Yu immediately released him and rubbed her face.

She was threatening him, not asking for obedience.

“At your command”? Was that a joke?

She was furious at someone who replied randomly!

Huffing, Wen Yu stomped upstairs. Her instant noodles were soaking too long—she had to eat them before they turned mushy!

Lin Yitang still trembled slightly over having let a supervillain go.

Seeing Wen Yu come up from below, she averted her gaze, pretending to be busy, but accidentally spilled some water from the noodle cup.

Hot and oily, Lin Yitang couldn’t help exclaiming.

Song Yu hurriedly lifted his head from the cup, asking anxiously, “What’s wrong, Xiao Tang?”

Lin Yitang looked at his face covered in oil—disgusting—but to avoid alerting Wen Yu, she patiently explained: “Spilled a little, it’s fine.”

“How could it be fine? You must have burned yourself!”

Song Yu quickly grabbed his half-drunk bottle of water to rinse her hands.

Seeing the bright red chili oil on the bottle mouth, and the oil still clinging to her hand despite rinsing, Lin Yitang lost patience. She pushed Song Yu aside, used his shirt to wipe her hands clean, then used her own water to finish.

Song Yu didn’t mind; in fact, he was pleased she used his shirt.

Wen Yu watched from afar, stunned.

Song Yu, in her presence, was like a firecracker ready to explode; before Lin Yitang, he was a total simpering sycophant, oblivious to her scorn.

Yet he had truly dirtied himself—his mouth and front of his shirt covered in chili oil. Even his mother would scold him for that.

Wen Yu bared her teeth and turned her gaze to Pei Ye.

He was elegantly opening his instant noodles, leisurely and graceful, as if unwrapping a precious gift—so out of place in the surroundings, yet somehow even more refined.

People just couldn’t compare.

No wonder Lin Yitang had chosen Pei Ye.

By the time they went downstairs, Cen Mo and Gu Feng had already eaten the noodles.

Considering men eat more, Wen Yu prepared another pack for Ye Xin and Song Yu, letting it soak in the noodle cups.

Instant noodles were plentiful, so a pack or two didn’t matter.

After eating, night had fallen outside.

The rain showed no signs of stopping.

The building had no power; searching it in the dark was dangerous and probably unfruitful. So, they decided to rest.

Wen Yu pulled a solar-powered ceiling light from her space and stuck it to the wall. The office instantly brightened.

It was still early; no one felt sleepy, and with nothing else to do, Lin Yitang suggested everyone train their abilities.

Song Yu enthusiastically agreed.

Although he fawned, he wasn’t stupid—he knew the earlier he improved, the better.

But he forgot the overwhelming, destructive desire that came with awakening.

Pei Ye, unsure if such a surge would occur upon leveling, refused the suggestion and pulled Wen Yu away.

If it did happen, it would burn their eyes.
