The burning muzzle of the gun was pressed against Su Ke’s forehead, so hot that he howled in pain.

Tang Xiaoman walked over and gave him a ruthless beating.

Su Ke was beaten so badly he saw stars, completely disoriented.

He first cursed, then begged for mercy.

Tang Xiaoman ignored him—she just wanted to vent first.

In the end, it was the man who had stepped in to help who stopped her.

“If you keep hitting him, he’s going to die.”

His voice was low and slightly magnetic—pleasant to hear.

Tang Xiaoman looked up at him.

He was around twenty-five or twenty-six years old, tall and well-built, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His thin T-shirt clung to his body, faintly revealing tight, powerful chest and abdominal muscles.

His face was handsome and sharp, with distinct, well-defined features. His dark eyes were deep and piercing, and his jawline looked as if it had been carved by a knife.

The hand holding the gun showed clearly defined knuckles, his arm muscles firm and fluid—overflowing with raw masculine presence.

His deep black eyes were also studying Tang Xiaoman, as if analyzing her profession and identity.

She was extremely skilled—fast, precise, and ruthless, without a single wasted motion.

That kind of fighting style only came from countless brutal real battles.

Yet she looked like a freshly graduated college student, a stark contrast to her terrifying combat ability.

Tang Xiaoman kicked Su Ke, who was struggling to get up, back to the ground and said calmly, “Then call the police.”

At 9 a.m., senior executives of the Gu Corporation gathered in the conference room.

Gu Heng looked at the empty seat beside him, his face dark and increasingly grim.

Damn it! Tang Xiaoman actually dared to skip work?!

She had worked at Gu Corporation for two years without ever doing something like this.

Shu Jia walked in, looking indignant.

“President, Miss Tang is not answering her phone!”

Gu Heng could no longer hold back his anger.

“Tell HR to fire Tang Xiaoman immediately. She is never allowed to come back to work again!”

So she was trying to act out and threaten him?

Then he would make her regret it.

He was sure she would end up crying and begging him to take it back.

Su Ke was charged with attempted murder, using a dog to attack others, and illegal possession of firearms—and was escorted into a police car in handcuffs.

The dead dog was also taken away as evidence.

Tang Xiaoman acted in self-defense, and the man who seized the gun was recorded as a good Samaritan. Both gave statements.

“Name? Occupation?” the police asked formally.

“Zhou Yichen. Bodyguard.” He showed his ID.

Tang Xiaoman glanced at him again—so he was a bodyguard.

No wonder. A private client must be very lucky to hire him. Not only was he skilled, his character was also solid.

She had been planning to hire bodyguards anyway, and immediately started considering poaching him.

After the police left, Zhou Yichen turned to leave.

“Mr. Zhou,” she called out.

He stopped and looked back at her.

“Let’s exchange contact information,” she said, taking out her phone.

Without hesitation, he refused.

“No need.”

Then he turned and left without looking back.

Tang Xiaoman: “……”

No name, no reward, no interest?

People like that were way too rare.

Her interest in “poaching him” deepened instantly.

Just as she was thinking about investigating him further, Su Cheng and Liu Yaqin rushed over.

One was furious, the other was crying—clearly they had just learned about Su Ke.

Tang Xiaoman didn’t want to waste time on them.

She got into her car, locked the doors, and stepped on the accelerator before they could even stop her.

With enough funds, Tang Xiaoman began stocking up—but space was limited, so she had to plan carefully.

She first went to a supermarket and bought rice, flour, oil, meat, eggs, fresh produce, seasonings, drinks—everything she liked in bulk.

After four years in the apocalypse, seeing these abundant supplies made her eyes practically glow with hunger.

Unfortunately, her space was limited—otherwise she would have spent all her remaining 90 million on food alone.

She filled eight shopping carts and had staff help load them into her pickup truck.

At the cashier, the clerk asked in surprise, “Miss, are all these for you alone?”

Tang Xiaoman nodded. “Yes. Please help me load them into my car.”

The truck bed was almost full.

She rented a temporary garage, drove in, and stored everything into her space.

Her space had a preservation function—food would never expire.

But when she checked the holographic display, only 148 cubic meters remained.

She had only used 2 cubic meters for eight carts of food.

She frowned slightly—space had to be used extremely carefully.

Then she continued her frantic stocking.

Meat markets had even fresher goods—live chickens, ducks, rabbits, fish, pigeons, quails…

Unfortunately, living creatures couldn’t be stored.

So she bought freshly slaughtered ones instead.

Hundreds of chickens, ducks, rabbits, fish, shrimp, pigeons, quails—all freshly butchered and still warm—were packed into large plastic bags.

She paid extra for workers to move everything to the parking lot.

Then she drove back to the garage and stored everything into her space again.

No time to organize.

She immediately went back out.

Stock up. Stock up. Stock up.

This time she bought beef, lamb, and pork—ribs, legs, whole heads, offal, everything freshly slaughtered.

Another full truckload—then back to storage.

By afternoon, she was starving and finally paused her frenzy.

She went to a barbecue restaurant and ordered grilled chicken wings, lamb skewers, prawns, squid, flatbread—everything she had craved in her past life.

She ate until she was dripping with oil, then finished with an ice-cold beer.

After eating her fill, she checked her phone—and froze.

Dozens of missed calls and messages.

From Su Cheng, Liu Yaqin, Su Rou, Gu Heng, and Shu Jia.

She had blocked Gu Heng and Shu Jia, but they kept changing numbers.

Su Cheng cursed her for harming her brother.

Liu Yaqin begged her to sign a forgiveness letter.

Su Rou pretended to be innocent.

Gu Heng ordered her back to work.

Shu Jia informed her she had been fired.

Tang Xiaoman skimmed through them and laughed coldly.

All of them were directly or indirectly responsible for her death in her past life.

Right now, she was busy stocking supplies and building her survival base—she didn’t have time for them.

She sent a group message:

“Alright. Just wait.”
