After discussing the planting plan, they decided to plant three normal seeds and three special seeds each.

They had already unlocked a sixth plot of land, allowing them to plant more crops at the same time.

After planting the seeds, they set four alarms according to the different maturation times.Full novel: Stockpiling for the Apocalypse: Survival in the Girls’ Dormitory — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But after all that activity, they were fully awake.

Chen Jianwei sat in bed playing on her phone for a while longer before reluctantly getting up.

She put on a thick down jacket, carried her hot water bottle downstairs, and plugged it in to recharge.

“Ah Wei, you all went down to fight zombies last night? Hurry and tell me what it was like.” Duan Minmin pulled her excitedly, bombarding her with questions.

That made Chen Jianwei resolve that if something like this happened again, even if Duan Minmin was sleeping like the dead, she would drag her up and give her the chance to experience it.

After all, no matter how much you heard about something, it could never compare to experiencing it firsthand.

Judging by Duan Minmin’s current excitement, she was clearly getting carried away.

But even after killing one zombie, they did not dare to underestimate the situation.

The zombie last night had been frozen stiff, and they had the advantage of numbers, along with Liu Ruyan leading the charge, smashing it apart with a single blow of the shovel.

If they encountered another zombie, unless absolutely necessary, they would not dare to act rashly again.

Ying Ran and Luo Mushi also got out of bed one after another, and the conversation soon turned to what to eat for dinner.

After earning 20 points from killing a zombie last night, Luo Mushi suggested they should celebrate properly.

They exchanged fifteen points in the [Market] for half a pound of shrimp and a bag of lettuce, then made a fragrant meal of salt-and-pepper shrimp and oyster sauce lettuce.

When Luo Mushi bit into a crispy shrimp, she was so emotional she almost burst into tears.

In the past, they had eaten well every day and never imagined that one day they would live like this, where even a single shrimp felt precious.

“Slow down, did you choke?” Ying Ran looked up and saw Luo Mushi’s teary expression, thinking she had choked on a shrimp shell, and quickly poured her a glass of water.

“No, I just feel awful.” Luo Mushi swallowed the shrimp with effort before speaking slowly. “I don’t know if we’ll ever get to eat something this good again.”

More importantly, she did not know when they could return to the life they once had.

They could only comfort themselves that things would eventually get better.

After all, the shrimp and lettuce they were eating now had been exchanged from the game’s marketplace using points. Once they earned more points, they would be able to exchange for even more delicious food.

The day passed quickly. They had spent most of it sleeping, and after dinner, they went about their usual routine of showering.

But having slept so much during the day, they did not feel sleepy at night at all.

“Should we invite Liu Huan and the others over to play games?” Duan Minmin, while organizing the various board game cards in the cabinet by the ladder, suddenly suggested.

Since Duan Minmin was a board game enthusiast, and had recently received a Monopoly card set before the zombie outbreak, she had basically collected all the common board games.

But with just the four of them, they could only play simpler games.

It would be more fun to invite a few more people.

As she spoke, she picked out several decks of cards, considering which game would be suitable.

They had not enjoyed “Who is the Undercover” much last night, so after thinking about it, Duan Minmin pulled out a collector’s edition of Werewolf cards and asked in the group chat if anyone wanted to play.

Liu Ruyan sighed. “I like playing Werewolf. But when I used to play face-to-face, I always ran into players who crossed boundaries and got too close, so I ended up doing the same. I don’t really play it anymore. If you want to play, I can be the moderator.”

Duan Minmin felt that having a moderator was fine.

But Wu Zhenyi and Ye Wan said they had never played Werewolf, and Chen Xiaoqi said she did not dare to play.

“I’m afraid of getting the werewolf role. I start trembling the moment I have to lie,” Chen Xiaoqi said.

Duan Minmin had no choice but to give up.

In the end, Liu Huan came over, and together with the four from Room 618, they played… Monopoly.

When Chen Jianwei played Monopoly, she liked to buy properties like crazy, only to end up bankrupt and forced to sell them off.

Every time she sold a property, Duan Minmin would laugh gleefully beside her.

Chen Jianwei could only sigh at her bad luck.

She bought properties to collect tolls, but before she could even break even, she had to mortgage them. It was truly miserable.

Ying Ran, on the other hand, took the opposite approach.

In the early stages, she did not buy the cheaper properties. After going halfway around the board, when the properties became more expensive, she began buying several in succession.

These properties had a higher cost-performance ratio, and the tolls were several times higher than the earlier ones.

Taking a sip of red date and longan tea, Ying Ran said proudly, “When I play Monopoly, I only buy big properties. Small ones aren’t worth it, they lead to bankruptcy.”

When she mentioned bankruptcy, she glanced sideways at Chen Jianwei.

“Why are you looking at me?” Chen Jianwei bristled immediately.

“No reason. You just go bankrupt the most every time,” Ying Ran said with a sigh.

Chen Jianwei felt indignant.

She had been on the road to bankruptcy for quite some time.

But in Monopoly, bankruptcy meant losing all money and properties.

So she kept selling and buying properties, occasionally collecting a bit of toll, trying to survive until the bank went bankrupt.

After Ying Ran accumulated a large fortune, she even started imitating the bank, buying up properties from players on the verge of bankruptcy.

Duan Minmin laughed so hard she nearly lost it. “You really have the makings of a capitalist!”

Ying Ran counted her properties, feeling she could still expand further.

Chen Jianwei could only cry internally. Could she mention that the properties Ying Ran now owned had originally been hers?

No one could possibly be more miserable than her in Monopoly.

But with Ying Ran stirring things up, the game ended before midnight with someone going bankrupt.

Meanwhile, Liu Ruyan was still chatting happily in the Lanzhou Garden Building 2 group chat, talking about zombies, food, and all sorts of interesting topics.

The story of last night’s zombie fight had spread, and everyone now knew that Liu Ruyan from Dorm 617 had been the bravest先锋.

People even tagged her in the group chat, saying that next time they fought zombies, she must take them along, and they were counting on “Senior Liu” to lead humanity to victory.

Even through the screen, they could tell she was grinning from ear to ear.

Liu Ruyan: Wow, they’re calling me Senior Liu!

Liu Ruyan: That’s right, my role model is Senior Lin!

After finishing their Monopoly game, it was another sleepless night.

Luo Mushi opened the “Who is the Undercover” mini-program again, created a room, and shared it in the group chat.

Soon, Wu Zhenyi and Ye Wan joined.

Ye Wan even jokingly called out to Liu Ruyan in the group.

“Senior Liu, want to come play? It’s Who is the Undercover!”

Liu Ruyan quickly appeared. “(crying-laughing)(crying-laughing)(crying-laughing)”

After joining the room, she immediately spoke over voice chat. “Don’t call me Senior Liu! Chen Xiaoqi is making fun of me!”

Chen Xiaoqi’s voice could be heard faintly in the background. “Ahhh you’re slandering me!”

Given her timid personality, it was hard to imagine her teasing anyone.

Chen Jianwei laughed so hard she could barely breathe.

Where did this group of lively people come from? She felt like she would laugh herself to death here.

They ended up just chatting in the room, since voice chat was more fun than typing.

Liu Ruyan asked everyone if they had any wishes, such as what they wanted to do first after the zombie outbreak ended, or places they wanted to visit.

“After this is over, I’m going to work hard and make money,” Wu Zhenyi said earnestly. “I want to earn a lot of money, buy a small but very safe house, and fill it with food, drinks, and supplies, so that if zombies come again, I can hide inside and survive forever.”

Ye Wan immediately poured cold water on her idea. “What if you pile too many things inside, exceed the load limit, and your house collapses?”

Wu Zhenyi spammed question marks in the text chat, and the two of them fell silent in the voice room.

“Looks like Dorm 620 is having a world war right now,” Duan Minmin commented, clearly enjoying the drama.

“Exercising is good,” Ying Ran added with a grin, equally amused.

Talking about exercise reminded them that they had mentioned it the night before while playing.

If they did not improve their fitness, they would have no chance of survival if chased by zombies.

Although, if that day really came, even a sprint champion might not be able to outrun them.

Luo Mushi would occasionally do yoga in the dorm, but in such cold weather, no one felt like moving.

Ying Ran sometimes played volleyball at the gym.

But overall, when it came to sports, their dorm was hopeless.

“Let’s just get through this winter first,” Chen Jianwei said, holding her hot water bottle and warming her hands.

But this winter felt endless.

Based on the solar cycle, with the winter solstice as the midpoint, they still had at least four months to endure.

And when the weather warmed up, zombies might become faster.

That would be even worse.

Though, things were already bad enough.

As they sighed while discussing zombies, a notification sound suddenly rang out.

Dorm Manager Auntie Lian had posted another pinned announcement in the Lanzhou Garden Building 2 group chat.

[From tonight to tomorrow, staff from the Zombie Virus Research Laboratory will arrive to collect blood samples from everyone for testing. We hope all students will cooperate with this process.]
