Сhарtеr 17: Torturing Ме?
“Wаnt tо рlay with Pаоpaо for a bit? Shоuld I саll him in?”
Wеn Yао loоkеd uр аt him, puzzled.
Хie Zongxun said саlmly, “Yоu didn’t реt him еаrlier, sо hе’s а bit sad. Hе’s lуing downstаirs, not moving.”
Wen Yаo rubbеd her eyеs and stоod uр, lоoking verу obedient.
“Тhеn I’ll gо рlay with him fоr а whilе.”
Аs if remembеring somеthing, she pаused.
“I’ve аlreadу taken a shоwеr.”
Хie Zоngхun rubbed her waist, сoахing her.
“It’s fine, gо aheаd.”
“Cоmе bаck uр on yоur own aftеr I finish shоwеring.”
Wen Yao nodded and went downstаirs.
Рaopaо wаs indeed lying оn thе floor with his tail drooping, looking listless.
Wen Yao felt a pang of heartache. Little animals were truly so sensitive.
She went over to hug him. At first, Paopao ignored her, but eventually, he wagged his tail and circled around, as if forgiving her.
Wen Yao almost cried. How could he be so sweet?
She stood up, took a can from his snack shelf, and trotted over to sit on the carpet, cuddling the puppy in her arms. “I’m sorry, Paopao. I didn’t mean to ignore you. Let me open a can for you to eat.”
Xie Zongxun stood on the second floor, drying his hair, and heard every word clearly.
He sighed inwardly, “What a silly girl.”
“Wen Yao, come here.”
Wen Yao was startled and looked up at him. “What?”
“I want to kiss.”
Why was he always thinking about such things?
She remembered she had promised him earlier that she would go upstairs after he finished showering.
“Wait a moment, I’m still feeding him.”
Xie Zongxun turned around and walked into the room, tossing out a few cold words: “Hurry up.”
After feeding the dog, Wen Yao washed her hands downstairs, making sure they were clean and fragrant, before slowly making her way upstairs.
Xie Zongxun was leaning against the bed, playing a game. Gu Yanche’s cursing voice came through the headset.
Wen Yao quietly climbed onto the bed. Xie Zongxun immediately pulled her into his arms and asked, “Have you played this game before?”
Wen Yao shook her head, looking uninterested.
“Go eat the cake first. If you can’t finish it, come feed me, okay?”
“Mm.”
She had been craving it when she left earlier and really wanted to take the cake with her, but that would have made her seem too shameless, so she held back.
She thought he was going to throw it away, but she didn’t expect him to keep it.
Well, he had paid for it, after all. She had tricked him a little.
Thinking this, she laughed at her own foolishness. He didn’t care about that little bit of money at all.
Wen Yao opened each box, took a few spoonfuls of each flavor, and found them all delicious, but she really couldn’t eat any more.
She glanced at Xie Zongxun, who was playing games on the bed.
Carrying the small cake, she went over. “I can’t finish it.”
Without looking up, he focused on the game. “Mm, feed me.”
Wen Yao fed him spoonful after spoonful until she reached a blueberry-flavored one. Xie Zongxun frowned slightly.
Wen Yao blinked and continued feeding him small spoonfuls. After many rounds, Xie Zongxun finally glanced at her.
“Torturing me?”
“No, I just want you to eat slowly so you don’t choke.”
Didn’t he know her mischievous intentions? He immediately placed the phone in her hands and threatened, “If you lose, I’ll make you suffer.”
Wen Yao was about to speak but was too shocked to say anything.
She stammered, “Xie Zongxun, don’t be like this.”
He had just finished eating the cake.
“Mm, I’ll wash up later.”
He clenched his teeth slightly, his voice a bit hoarse. “Focus on playing.”
Wen Yao unconsciously straightened her back, feeling both embarrassed and angry, all while being scolded by Gu Yanche.
“Are you playing with your fucking feet?””I can’t read the signals, damn it. If we lose this round, I’m gonna beat you up tomorrow.”
Wen Yao’s hand trembled slightly as she spoke weakly.
“He said he’ll beat you up tomorrow.”
The implication was that she wanted to lose.
Xie Zongxun chuckled softly, using a wet wipe to clean up briefly.
“He wouldn’t dare.”
Gu Yanche on the other end was getting more and more worked up with his cursing. Although he was only cursing Xie Zongxun, Wen Yao had never heard such language before.
With reddened eyes, she threw the phone into Xie Zongxun’s lap and muttered, “I’m not playing anymore.”
Xie Zongxun chuckled lowly as he took the phone and turned on the microphone.
“Shut up.”
“Holy shit, back to normal now, huh? Did you fucking give your phone to your woman to play with?”
“What were you two doing while gaming? Fine, I’ll just fucking sing a little skit to get you two in the mood.”
Wen Yao rolled over and kicked Xie Zongxun.
So annoying, both of them are so annoying.
Xie Zongxun paused for a moment before speaking calmly.
“I’ll win this for you, shut up.”
Xie Zongxun didn’t play any more games after finishing that round. Wen Yao hadn’t fallen asleep either, so he got up and carried her to wash up.
He squeezed toothpaste onto her toothbrush and placed it in her hand.
“I want to sleep.”
Wen Yao lay against Xie Zongxun’s chest, her voice tired.
“If Paopao calls me daddy and calls you sister, then what does that make you to me, hmm?”
Wen Yao blinked, thinking carefully before realizing she’d been tricked again. She stayed silent, sulking.
“Speak.”
“You’re a jerk.”
Wen Yao closed her eyes, already so tired she couldn’t tell which way was up. She fell asleep right after saying that.
“Mhm, sleep.”
Xie Zongxun didn’t touch her that night, just held her.
Neither of them had classes the next morning, so they didn’t get up too early.
When Xie Zongxun woke up, he saw a message from Gu Yanche.
“You’re being horny.”
He replied with a question mark and glanced at Wen Yao sleeping beside him.
Gu Yanche sent him a photo.
“This photo is going viral.”
Then came another screenshot, showing someone’s social media post.
“Is this your woman?”
Xie Zongxun didn’t recognize the account, but he immediately understood what had happened.
“No, she didn’t post it.”
“Help me deal with this.”
Gu Yanche: “Deal with it yourself, damn it. With your skills it won’t even be hard. I’m lazy.”
Xie Zongxun: “No time. I need to settle accounts.”
Gu Yanche: “Take it easy. Don’t come asking me for medicine again.”
When Wen Yao woke up, she inexplicably felt a chill. She pulled the blanket around herself and sat up, looking at Xie Zongxun sitting beside her.
He wasn’t speaking or playing with his phone, just sitting there.
What’s going on?
“Where’s the photo I gave you?”
Wen Yao blinked and answered truthfully.
“I gave it to my roommate. She asked me to get one.”
Then she added: “She really likes you.”
A crack appeared in Xie Zongxun’s icy gaze. “What does her liking me have to do with me? Go get it back.”
Wen Yao pressed her lips together tightly. How could she ask for it back now that she’d already given it away?
“That photo… did you originally think it was for me?”
Xie Zongxun didn’t answer her, just directly held his phone in front of her face.
Wen Yao saw Tang Li’s social media post, with that photo as the image.
[My crush’s embrace, so sexy, want to lie in it (heart eyes)]
Wen Yao bit her lip and glanced up slightly to see Xie Zongxun’s expression.
He looked furious.
She apologized sincerely: “I’ll go get it back. I’m sorry.”
Xie Zongxun wasn’t going to let her off that easily, his tone cold and hard.
“Do you know how widely this photo has spread? This isn’t something that can just be dropped.”
“Then what do you want to do?”Xie Zongxun’s dark eyes fixed on her as he spoke coldly.
“Take a photo of yourself for me. It has to be the same.”
“But you’re not wearing any clothes…”
“So?”
Wen Yao felt utterly humiliated. He had agreed to give the photo, and someone else had sent it—why should she be the one to bear the consequences in the end? She raised her eyes to meet his icy gaze, then backed down again.
When he was angry, it was terrifying. She couldn’t handle it.
“…I’ll take it.”
