Lukas, Bella alongside the others stood before a door made of the same material as that of the library.
Two dragon sculptures stood as imposing guards by both sides of the door
A Butler stood before them, he looked like he was in his mid-fifties, he had brown hair, a beard that connected to his mustache and hazel eyes.
He wore a black pristine swallow tail suit, a one-eyed glass on his left eye.
"The Lord and Madam awaits you both inside" The Butler said to them.
"Thank you, Mr. Alfred" Bella said to him as she and Lukas stepped forward. leaving Beatrice and Zelda with Alfred outside.
Alfred was the head butler of the house.
Stepping into the office, Lukas was momentarily stunned by the interior of the office. The floor was like polished sliver, with golden patterns carved into the tiles surface.
By the left side of the office section was a large bookshelf containing numerous books, one section of the bookshelf was a drawer. By the side of the bookshelf was a fine wooden stool, with draconic patterns carved on the stool.
It held a white ceramic vase with the painting of a goldfish in a curve around the vase with water intertwining around it like it was swimming, the body of the vase had a light golden glow.
Two meters from it was another shelf, shorter in width than the bookshelf, it had five rows, placed on the shelf were various expensive and precious antiques, from statues to gems and magical items, like the mini statue of a rider atop a dragon carved from star diamond.
On the wall above the vase between the bookshelf and shelf was a painting of a knight clad in armor with a woman in his arms seated atop a majestic dragon looking at a majestic city from the hill the dragon stood.
The picture felt alive with bright colors, incredible details and realism.
On the other section of the office was a pristine glass fish tank, bright colored fishes swarm in harmony in the pristine blue water, the fishes’ bodies glowed as they swarm, the tank was filled with colorful reef structure and corals, with glowing yellow and blue quartzes at the bottom.
Three meters from the fish tank was a high-quality large sofa in the color of red and the wood painting in gold with intricate patterns carved on the wood, with a tea table placed a meter in front of it.
Seating on the sofa was Eve with a little girl of about 5 years old seated on her lap, the little girl had white hair and blue eyes just like Eve, she was beautiful and cute at the same time.
The girl was in an elegant white day dress and a blue hairpin in the shape of a star was placed on her hair.
Resting beside was a dragon the size of a grown dog with emerald green scales and horns which protruded out of its head as they resembled vines.
The emerald green dragon rested its body against that of another dragon which looked a little fierce.
The dragon had molten golden eyes, white horns and crimson scales which sparked under the light of the office as a chandelier embed with light crystals hung on the ceiling.
Seated on a majestic seat was Valeric as a little boy same age as the girl was seated on his lap as he fiddled with the figurine of a dragon, the boy had blonde slick hair and almond eyes.
The boy wore a button up silk shirt with a black tie that had a pin with Lyon’s sigil on the tie and shorts made of linen. Visit g.com for the full chapter.
Roaring dragon heads where carved at the arm head of the chair.
He was seated behind a desk whose craftmanship was something else, the sigil of House Lyon was carved on the front side of the desk, its design looked draconic, a stack of files sat properly on one side of the table.
A mini dragon statue made from Rainbow mana crystal stood at the other side alongside a glowing crystal orb.
A mana light lamp stood close to the files on the desk, a closed file and a black pen laid before Valeric.
Behind him was a banner placed at the center of the windows of the office, the emblem of House Lyon was imprinted on it in the colors of crimson and gold, while the banners color was deep blue.
"Brother Lukas!" the boy and girl echoed at the same time as their eyes landed on him, their eyes filled with intense happiness, both children leaped from their parents hold and dashed towards Lukas.
Lukas was taken aback as the two children approached him quickly with bright smiles on their faces.
Adam suddenly felt a warm feeling in chest as he watched them run towards him, the feeling was something that had died a long time ago.
The feeling of having siblings again, he could the remember his late little sister back on earth, he could vividly remember all the happy times they spent together, always giving her piggy backs.
Holding hands as he took her to school, both of them smiling at each other, staying up late because of stories he would tell her and their mother badging in and chasing them to bed.
Or when their dad was asleep, she would ask Adam to help her put make up on their father’s face, which he agrees, only for the man to wake up with makeup on his face and his wife laughing at him. With Adam and her watching from the side with smiles on their faces.
He could remember when they played under the bright azure sky as the grass swayed in emerald waves around them as their parents watched them.
He could never forget her smile of happiness but it all changed when she was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer at the age of six.
That was when his world shattered, everything suddenly took a dark turn for the worst, his parents tried all in their power to cure her, but the bills were already putting a strain on them.
Even despite her condition, his little sister will smile at them and tell them it’s okay, this would make his mother break.
In the end, the cancer reached stage 4 at this point, there was no saving her.
Adam remembered her at her death bed, when his parents where in tears watching their only daughter slip away from them.
Adam holds the hand of a little girl, as she lays on a hospital bed, the machine beside her beeping slowly as her heart beat rate began to slow down.
Tears dripped from Adam’s eyes as he held on to her hand.
"Brother... don’t cry" The little girl called out to him with a weak smile on her face.
"I am not crying and I know you are going to be okay" Adam’s voice trembled as he looked at her with teary eyes.
"Is Eli.... going to be okay?" She asked him.
"Which...means you... will still be my knight in shining armor right?" She asked with a smile as she looked at him, the colors in her eye already going dim.
"Yes. I will be your Knight in shining armor and you will be the princess, I will protect" Adam said tearfully as he gripped her hand tightly.
"Then...Eli is happy to hear it" Tears streamed down her cheeks silently.
"Eli, I promise you are going to be alright, just stay with us" Adam said, his tears hitting the floor as he cried.
Meanwhile their mother was in tears as their father held her closer, her face buried in his chest, his eyes were teary as he looked at both his children, one about to leave their lives forever.
"You...are...t-truly are my knight in shining armor" She looked at him smiling.
Adam cried.
"I...feel...so...sleepy" Eli’s voice became weak as her eyes began to dim and close.
"Eli stay with me, please" Adam said to her in tears.
"When.... I wake...up...I would like you to play with me" as Eli spoke weakly with that same smile on her face, the machine began to beep with alarm as her heart beat began to stop.
"Eli!" Both parents got up and rushed to her side, tears in their eyes as they begged her to stay with them as a doctor and nurse rushed in.
"Brother Adam...play......with,,,,me...when I...wake up" Eli said with her last breath as the machine went silent.
Adam looked at her as her hand slumped from his grip, he froze just staring at Eli with just a smile on her face, her eyes already devoid of life.
"Eli! I promise to play with you, please don’t leave me!" Adam cried out gripping her hand as the doctor and nurses tried to bring her back but to no avail.
That was the day his heart shattered as he lost someone precious to him, he had imagined her growing through middle school, high school surrounded by friends.
Getting to college, graduating with a smile on her face, watching her get married, but all those shattered like mirror.
Present.
Lukas eyes whelmed up with tears as the twins ran towards him with happy smiles, he bent down and open his arms to receive them in his embrace.
They embraced him happily, Lukas held them firmly in his arms as tears slid down his cheeks, he didn’t know what merit or what being gave him the life and family he had always wished for.
He didn’t understand why but he gratefully thanked whosoever being that granted his wish as he held both twins closer.
The warm evening sunlight which filtered into the office through the window, casted its rays on Lukas and the twins in his arms, as he held them in a warm embrace, a wish longed for had been granted to a young man who had lost everything.
And this time he vows to protect everything in this new life no matter what!
