Lukas smiled as he saw the holographic screens before him, he had finally completed one of the present missions given by Ava.

<You managed to pull through the end and even completed the mission; your resilience is something else> Ava said to him.

With this kind of rewards, why won’t I complete the mission? I mean who would say no to free core stability points and at that I finally unlocked the store.Full novel: Strongest Close Combat Mage in a Women Dominated World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Lukas replied.

<You nearly crippled yourself in the process> Ava said with concern.

Nothing ever comes easy right? Well, that was expected but, in the end, I pulled through, I endured worse as soldier so this is nothing.

Lukas said to Ava, as he felt his mana flowing through his body more smoothly than before and he could tell that his control over his mana had improved too.

He curled and uncurled his fists, feeling the rush of power from reaching 3-star of the initiate rank.

<Well congratulations on completing your first mission> Ava congratulated him.

Thanks, and I am glad to have you once more

Lukas smiled.

"Lukas are you alright!" Eve called out to Lukas.

"Yes mother, I am alright" Lukas said to her as he got up.

"Thank goodness..." Eve let out a sigh of relief. "Why did you have to scare me?" She had a worried look in her eyes as she walked towards Lukas.

"I am sorry if I made you worried, but I promise not to do anything that will scare you" Lukas said.

Then Eve hugged him suddenly.

"I know how much you want to grow stronger, since you are way behind your peers but please don’t try to push yourself, I applaud your resolve. I know you are doing this so that we won’t see you as a stain on our family, but I don’t care about that, all I want is for you to be safe and happy" Eve told him as she held him in her embrace.

’I still can’t believe the heavens decided to favor me this much in a second life’

Lukas held on to her, receiving that warmth of a mother’s embrace.

Beatrice just watched them with a smile on her face from behind.

"Mother, as I told you before, I said I will surely break past 2-star and now here I am and I won’t just stop but I will keep going no matter what, I am doing this for you all too, I must keep my promise" Lukas replied to her.

"What promise pushes you this far? Eve asked as she looked at him.

"To become strong enough to protect my family" Lukas said.

Eve paused, the look in Lukas eyes burned fierce like a blaze, then she understood, he wasn’t backing down and he had made up his mind no matter what.

"You have that same stubborn attitude as your father, but I can see the blaze in your eyes so if you say so, then make sure you keep that promise then" Eve smiled.

"Don’t worry mother, I make sure I do this time" Lukas promised, this time he would keep this promise no matter what. He might had failed in his past life but in this new life he won’t.

’Now that I have broken through to 3-star of the initiate rank, I should have a combat practice now, since my class is a mage, I want to know how it feels to cast magic, how much spells I can cast at this stage and my overall raw power.’

Lukas thought to himself, he wanted to test how strong his spells attack power would be now, given he could control his mana flow very well now thanks to his God-tier talent.

Although he knew the former Lukas had learned some attributeless spells which was stored in his inherited memory.

Attributeless spells were spells that don’t need a specific attribute to function, elemental spells could only function if a person had the corresponding elemental affinity and attribute, one disadvantage about having a low-ranking mage class like common or uncommon, they had something called minor affinity.

Minor affinity meant they had an affinity for using non-elemental or non-attribute-based spells, but there was a problem, such class and low talent could never bring out the full power of the spells they cast.

But a person with a higher mage class from rare class upward always have an elemental affinity and attribute awakened but here was the twist, even with an elemental affinity and attribute they could still use non-elemental and non-attribute-based spells.

So, mage classes from rare rank above had a huge advantage over common and uncommon class mages.

’If I remember clearly from his memories, the former Lukas had like six non-elemental spells and I think they are of rare grade.’

Lukas thought to himself as he broke from his mother’s embrace.

"Mother, I have a request" Lukas said to her.

"And what will that be?" Eve looked at him

"You can really control your mana flow very well now?" She had a skeptical look on her face.

"Yes, I think so, so I was wondering if you could make some mana energy holos I could use my spells against" Lukas asked with a smile.

Eve just stared at him.

From Lukas memory, Adam had found out that, Mages were capable of creating monsters with an ability called mana energy holos creation, if it were on earth where Adam came from, people would have called it a hologram.

But this mana energy holos were different, although there are made of energy matter, their form was solid like a real body of a creature.

"Are you sure about this?" Eve raised an eyebrow at him.

"I am sure about it; just trust me, I won’t get hurt" Lukas assured her. Eve saw the confident look in his eyes and she just sighed knowing there was no stopping him.

’When did he become this strong headed’

Eve shook her head as she knew they was no helping it.

"Alright fine, but you will start with 2-star, D-class mana energy holos, okay" Eve said to him.

"it’s no problem" Lukas replied, he thought to himself, that maybe starting with opponents one star below was a good start.

"Just wait here" Eve said to him as she turned around and walked away, she and Beatrice making their way back to the upper section.

Eve stood at the viewing platform which over saw the platform, Lukas stood on currently. Eve tapped her feet lightly on a rune pattern which was hexagonal in shape.

As she did the pattern lighted up and rising from it, was a crystal pillar with a crystal orb attached on top.

"Does he want to go against mana energy holos?" Beatrice looked at Eve as she asked.

"Yes, he wants to check how the attack power of the spells I taught him, has turned out now he has broken through and he told me that he can now control his mana flow properly" Eve replied as she placed her right hand on the crystal orb.

"His mana control has improved, that’s a very good news" Beatrice was happy but she paused "If he said his mana control has improved, he should have just shown you instead" she looked at Eve.

"Well, he said that he wants to have a go against mana energy holos and his eyes held a kind of confidence I have never seen before" Eve began to inject her mana into the crystal orb, which began to glow in accordance with her mana color.

’In just a day, I don’t know If I’m right or wrong, but Lukas you have changed, a change too fast to comprehend. But somehow, I am eager to see what you’re about to do.’

Eve smiled as she looked at Lukas who stood confidently.

The entire rune patterns in the cultivation room, including that on the platform Lukas stood on, all changed color in accordance to Eve’s mana she injected into the crystal orb.

"Lukas get ready" Eve called out to him.

’One thing about this cultivation room, is that it still served as a combat training space against mana energy holos.’

Lukas steadied himself.

Mana arose from the rune pattern on the floor in the color of Eve’s mana color, ten meters from Lukas, the mana began to condensed into the shapes of four-legged creatures.

Soon the holos took form, the holos were wolves, pristine white fur, icy blue eyes, shards of ice stuck to their fur and their paws were covered in ice.

Their eyes pinned on Lukas the moment they took form.

"Lukas before you are, white Frost dire wolves they are of the D-class rank and 2-star, brace yourself since they are multiple in numbers and don’t let your guard down" Eve said to him.

"Yes mother, I won’t let my guard down" Lukas had a grin on his face as his eyes landed on the creatures.

’Creatures of another world are fascinating and they look way too realistic, given they are just constructed with mana, but their attacks are real too since its basically mana condensed into a physical form.’

Lukas readied himself, as he took a posture that left no openings, even though he was standing straight.

"Alright Lukas, here they come" as Eve spoke, the wolves charged at Lukas with growls as they bared their fangs at him.

[Mission Update]

[Defeat all holos and impress your mother]

<Seems you triggered a new mission> Ava said to Lukas as it hovered beside him

"I just love this mission; here comes the motivation one needs" Lukas grinned as he saw the system’s prompt before him.

The wolves were five in number; they all dashed at him with fangs bared ready to bite and tear.

Lukas stretched forth his right hand at the charging wolves with upmost calm. He channeled his mana from his mana core towards his mana veins in his hands, which lighted up in a crimson and gold

Aero blast!

Lukas said with a thought.

[Instant cast activated]

A purple magic circle bloomed before Lukas hand instantly, three concentric circles linked by six stars shaped glyphs and an explosion symbol at its heart.

The rings and glyphs moved as the magic circle’s color intensified, the explosion symbol at the center glowed bright purple.

’Did he just cast without chanting!’

Eve was surprised to the core.

’How is this possible!’

Even Beatrice was shocked.

Then a purple energy blast shot out from the symbol, heading towards the charging wolves with incredible speed.

BANG!

Before the wolves knew it, the energy blast slammed into them, a purple-colored explosion erupted as the spell caught its targets.

Dying howls echoed, as the wolves were wiped out from the attack. Their bodies began to break apart and disintegrate.

"What!" Beatrice was shocked to the core, as five 2-star, D-class, white Frost dire wolves holos were taken out from just one attack.

<Did you just one shot the entire pack?> Ava was stunned.

"Well, what do know, it’s my first time using magic" Lukas was dumbfounded at the sheer attack power of the spell he just casted.

’Five D-class holos wiped out just from one attack of a 3 tier, rare grade spell, is it the spell or my raw power?’

Lukas was basically confused at this point.

Then a chuckle escaped Eve’s lips as the she saw the result before her.

"Normally, Aero blast is supposed to take out two of the D-class beasts at its current attack power, but yours wiped them all at once, the raw power of the spell was something, Lukas just how strong is your raw power? Because I want to see it more for myself" a smile appeared on Eve’s face as she looked at him.

Lukas then understood what kind of woman; his mother Eve truly was. No wonder the mission said impress her.

"Well bring it on mother" Lukas challenged with a wide grin.

"I like your challenge, so my dear child, show me your power as a mage" Eve said with a sly smile a she injected more mana into the orb.

More holos began to take form on the platform.

Eve took out a mana communication crystal, tapped on it and spoke.

"Darling, I have a surprise for you, just come to the cultivation hall" she said.

"What surprise?" Valeric voice came through.

"That’s why it’s a surprise" Eve’s voice sounded sweet like honey

"Fine, I will there in a short time" Valeric replied.

Eve kept her mana communication crystal back, her eyes going back to Lukas

"Let’s complete the mission, shall we" Lukas got ready to grind with a grin on his face.
