Eve looked with concern as ten Frost white dire wolves charged at Lukas who stood unshaken and a confident look plastered on his face.
’The question is, he is a lot bolder than before and that confidence of his is something, he had never exhibited before. Did death change him? But if this proves too much, I will end it here
But what’s more shocking is that at this level, he isn’t supposed to use instants cast. So how can he cast spells instantly like as if it’s part of him’
Eve looked at Lukas carefully, who on the other hand had a thrilled expression on his face.
"Magic feels so good to use and I think that spell, didn’t use 0.01% of my mana, yet it was that destructive" Lukas eyes pinned on the charging beasts, then an idea formed in his head.
"Let me try multi-casting" Lukas stretched forth his hand as he recalled another spell in his inherited memories from the former Lukas.
From the former Lukas memories, Adam knew, multi-casting meant casting multiple spells of different kind at the same time.
Lukas guided his mana from his mana core towards his mana veins in his right hand, the mana volume was more than the first he used to cast the first spell.
His instant cast activated.
The Aero blast magic circle appeared, but then beside it another magic circle began to take form. Lukas focused intently as he tried to form the second spell.
"Wait...don’t tell me he is trying to multi-cast at this level!" Eve was shocked by what her eyes were witnessing
A blue and white magic circle began to bloom beside the aero blast spell, three concentric circles rotated linked by six bullet shaped glyphs and white patterns decorated the magic circle.
At its heart was the image of a bullet tearing through the air, the magic circle glowed.
"Let’s see the combined power of the two spells, Mana bullet and Aero Blast!" Lukas released his spells instantly.
A purple energy blast and a rain of bullets in the form of mana shot forward towards the charging wolves.
Bang!
Aero Blast landed first, blowing up six wolves apart instantly. The mana bullets came second, piercing through the bodies of four wolves in a split-second count, the wolves dropped to the floor, dead.
"He really did it!" Eve was shocked beyond surprise, Beatrice was just stunned at what Lukas had just pulled off, what could only escape her mouth was how?
The remaining wolf had closed the gap between it and Lukas, its mouth opened to take a bite out from Lukas.
Adam’s combat skills as soldier came back instantly, his body moved before his mind could, he evaded to the side, evading the attack of the wolf. The wolf’s jaws clamped on the empty air.
Now is my chance!
Lukas saw the exposed guard of the wolf and he knew it was his chance to take it down; he reacted with a spinning hook aimed at the wolf’s side.
His leg whipped through the air with insane speed and momentum.
Eve looked at Lukas movement with disbelief.
Lukas kick slammed into the wolf’s skull and its skull caved in with a crushing crack upon impact.
The force of the kick sent the wolf skidding across the floor like a skipping stone, then it came to halt, its eyes devoid of life and then the holo’s body began to fade away like mist.
"Well, a soldier never forgets his training" Lukas replied with a smile as he stood tall.
’These opponents felt too weak and a notification has not popped up notifying me if I had completed the mission, which means the mission is still not complete, then that means she expects to see even more, even if she is surprised by what I have displayed.’
Lukas looked towards Eve, sure she was taken aback by his display right now but she wanted to see more, even though she didn’t want to push it far, thinking Lukas might get hurt.
Lukas looked at his mother with a smile.
"Mother, those opponents were kind of weak, why not give something on the same level as me" Lukas said to her, smiling confidently.
"This boy" A smiled curved on Eve’s lips as she saw Lukas determined expression filled with confidence. "Lukas are you sure you can handle enemies on your Level?" Eve asked.
’She clearly doesn’t want to see me get hurt but I am not the former Lukas, I will do whatever it takes to hone my combat skills in this new world.’
Adam thought to himself as he understood but he was a soldier in his past life and only by honing his combat skills in this world he had found himself in, can he able to keep his head on his neck.
"Mother, I understand you are worried but I am a man and I can handle whatever you will throw at me" Lukas said to her
Eve eyes narrowed at Lukas, thoughts going through her head.
"You know Lukas, this is the first time I have seen you this thrilled and confident, I don’t know but now I want to see what makes you confident" A smirk curved on Eve’s lips as she spoke, while injecting her mana into the crystal orb.
"Very well mother" Lukas replied.
On the platform, holos began to take form from the mana seeping out of the rune pattern, soon the holos took shape.
Standing before Lukas were three red fur wolves, bigger in size than the previous 2-star, D-class wolves, the body of the wolves were wreathed in flames, as their crimson eyes locked on to him.
"Graaa!" they snarled while showing their razor-sharp teeth.
Flapping its wings above the wolves was a large brown eagle with purple beady eyes and talons that could tear through steel.
A purple aura shrouded the eagle as its beady eyes locked onto Lukas.
"Demonic flame hounds and a shadow specter Eagle!" Lukas muttered to himself, the names left his mouth, since the former Lukas had studied about magic beasts.
"I assume you already know the kind of beasts that are in front of you Lukas, 3-star, D-class Demonic Flame hounds and a shadow specter eagle, now show me what makes you confident my dear child but don’t get hurt" Eve said with a smile as she gave the command for the beasts to attack.
<Combat assistant mode activated!>
"You still have that feature?" Lukas asked Ava as he got ready to face the holos
<Yes, I do, even if I am the reincarnate system, I am still Ava, your battle assistant on the battle field> Ava replied
"Well, just like old times let’s do this" Lukas got ready.
The hounds dashed first, surpassing the speed of the previous wolves.
’Wow they are faster than the white Frost dire wolves’
Lukas was surprised as the hounds closed the distance gap sharply.
<You have three hostiles heading towards you Lukas, advised actions, offensive, defensive, evasion or defensive counter attack!>
But then the two other hounds broke from the straight forward charge, one took right, the other took left, one hound charged straight for him, while the other two charged from left and right.
<Two hostiles coming in from your left and right flank!> Ava warned.
’They are intelligent’
<Warning, attack incoming from above you, advised action, evade!> another warning came from Ava.
Lukas looked up only to see an arc of purple energy heading straight towards him, as the hounds charged at him.
They are trying to drive me into a trap. Lukas suddenly realized
Before the attack could hit him, he quickly evaded to the side and the attack slammed into the empty spot he had been seconds ago.
As he dodged, a flame hound was already in his face, its fangs bearing down on him.
<Danger in close proximity, be advised Lukas!> Ava warned.
But Lukas didn’t not panic. He remembered an innate ability of his called fists of steel, he clenched his fists, then directed his mana flow from his mana core towards the entire mana veins in his right hand and his muscles.
The entire muscles and its fibers suddenly tightened and locked themselves together like steel, then Lukas pushed the mana to be concentrated in his fist, as his mana veins glowed brightly due to the high amount of mana in his hand and fist.
[Fist of Steel activated]
Like a piston, Lukas threw his fist in a devasting upper cut, which tore through the air towards the jaw of the hound.
His blue eyes turned cold and glowed as he attacked with a calm expression on his face.
BAM-CRACK!
Lukas fist connected with the hound’s jaw in a powerful upper cut.
Meanwhile Valeric and Bella stood before the huge doors of the cultivation room; they both were in training vests.
"I wonder what your mother wants to surprise me with" Valeric said as he injected his mana into the crystal floating above the stone pedestal.
"I want to rest" Bella said with a painful expression, as she looked disheveled, her hair was a mess and her face was smeared with dust.
"I hope you enjoyed the spar my dear" Valeric flashed her a smile as the rune patterns on the door lighted up.
"You monster, what was there to enjoy?" Bella felt like crying, as she remembered the one side beat down of a spar as the door opened and they stepped in.
’I am a girl for goddess’s sake!’
She eyed Valeric, but she was happy for her father’s training, since it was one of her targets when she came back home for the holiday.
His way of teaching was different from that of the professors at the academy, but there was one problem of her father, Valeric, in sparring, he viewed men and women the same and he never went easy.
As they stepped in, Valeric and Bella froze on the spot as they looked at Lukas, whose fists hits the jaw of the holo hound in a devasting uppercut.
The hounds jaw caved into its head in a devasting crack; the hound’s body was lifted off the ground from the impact force behind Lukas fist.
The hounds body shot into the air; an expression of shock appeared in the holo’s eagle’s eyes as the dead hound soared towards it.
But the bird managed to move out of the way on time.
Everyone was stunned as they stared at Lukas in disbelief, Beatrice had her mouth wide open in complete shock.
"So, this is what it means to be a close combat mage" Lukas had a wide grin on his face.
