Xu Haoyu was heading downstairs when he suddenly heard a familiar voice. Curious, he opened a private room door and saw Yan Jiaojiao and Xie Kejia swaying unsteadily while belting out songs at the top of their lungs.
He immediately called Xie Chuanyan. If this little ancestor got into trouble on his turf, Xie Chuanyan would surely make him suffer.
“Brother Yan, I saw Yan Jiaojiao in room 213.”
The call was disconnected within a second.
Xu Haoyu cast a sympathetic glance at the ecstatic Yan Jiaojiao, wondering if she would still be smiling when she left the room later.
The woman nestled in his arms playfully punched his chest, her coquettish eyes tinged with jealousy as she deliberately rubbed her ample bosom against his arm.
He lightly lifted her chin. “I’ll satisfy you later.”
By the time Xie Chuanyan arrived, the girls inside the room hadn’t noticed. They were slumped on the sofa, eyes closed, singing their hearts out.
“Even if I die, I’ll still love you, no…”
Li Mubai rubbed his suffering ears and was about to intervene when a chorus of male voices echoed from behind.
“Good evening, ladies. Your Package A has arrived.”
The announcement snapped Yan Jiaojiao and Xie Kejia out of their revelry. Dazed, they stared at the two grim-faced figures standing at the doorway.
Opposite them, a row of men were still bowing. When they straightened up and saw the newcomers, their eyes widened in surprise.
Yan Jiaojiao noticed the tags hanging on the seven or eight men—A1, A2…
“So you’re Package A? No wonder it’s so expensive.”
Xie Kejia covered her mouth. Facing Xie Chuanyan’s icy glare, she wished she could vanish into the floor.
Last time she secretly brought Yan Jiaojiao to a bar, her allowance was docked for two months. This time was even worse. When the server recommended the most popular package, they thought it was just drinks and fruit platters, so they ordered it.
Who knew it would bring a group of men? And now they were caught red-handed.
Considering the series of events, it was enough to get her killed twice over.
She looked pleadingly at Li Mubai, who merely gave her a cold glance before leaning against the wall, hands in pockets, to watch the show.
The manager, having learned that Xie Chuanyan had come to the second floor, rushed over immediately. Assessing the situation inside, he promptly led the men in apologizing.
Xie Chuanyan advanced step by step toward Yan Jiaojiao, his pace unhurried yet exuding an intimidating, solemn aura.
Xie Kejia had already released Yan Jiaojiao’s hand and moved aside. Yan Jiaojiao stared in disbelief, her mouth agape.
Her face was tilted upward as Xie Chuanyan gripped it firmly. Yan Jiaojiao tightened her hold on the microphone, her free hand trying to pry his fingers away.
“Let go of me!”
Though she was fair-skinned and beautiful, with skin as smooth as jade, that didn’t mean he could just touch her whenever he pleased.
Doesn’t this young lady have any dignity?!
He looked down at her, his narrow phoenix eyes glinting with a sharp, icy light.
“Package A?”
He pulled the girl onto his lap. In front of the table stood a line of men dressed neatly in suits of various colors.
Xie Chuanyan stroked her chin with his thumb, turning her head to look. His thin lips brushed against her ear. “Which one does my sweet girl like?”
As he spoke, he seemed to deliberately graze the tip of her ear, sending a tingling shiver through her.
Yan Jiaojiao bit her lip, forced to nestle in his embrace, her nose filled with the faint scent of cedar.
Lost in thought, she didn’t respond, and Xie Chuanyan mistook her silence for contemplation. The shadow locked in his dark pupils grew intense with heat.
Yan Jiaojiao felt the entire room grow even colder. Xie Chuanyan’s gaze seemed ready to devour her alive. It was better to back down now.
“I don’t like any of them.”
Xie Kejia’s tense heart relaxed slightly. If Yan Jiaojiao said the wrong thing, they would both be done for.
“Let me go. I want to go home.”Xie Chuanyan lifted her into his arms, his gaze sweeping past Xie Kejia who was shrinking her head. “Three months.”
Only after everyone had left did Xie Kejia let out a furious howl. Anyone unaware might have thought a pig was being slaughtered in the private room.
“Ahhh, three months of allowance gone! How am I supposed to live? My Armani, Gucci, Tiffany—they’re all still in my shopping cart!”
She blinked her eyes pitifully at Li Mubai. “Brother Mubai, I know you’re a good person. You’ll help me out, right?”
Li Mubai sneered and nodded toward the group of people. “Ask them.”
Men with money never lacked for it.
Watching his retreating figure, Xie Kejia sniffled. Sure enough, as Yan Jiaojiao had said, men were all no good.
After getting into the car, Yan Jiaojiao squinted her eyes. The alcohol had gone to her head, leaving her dizzy and unaware of where she was being taken.
Before falling asleep, she only remembered her lips being nibbled several times. She whimpered, frowning uncomfortably. A few seconds later, her back was gently patted. Her slightly flushed face sank into the pillow as she obediently drifted into a deep slumber.
When she woke again, it was in an unfamiliar room. A fleeting image flashed through her mind, causing a sharp pang before quickly fading away.
Xie Chuanyan walked in, his black suit draped over his elbow. The curve of the dark hair at his forehead was just right, and beneath his sharp eyebrows were a pair of aggressive phoenix eyes. Perched on his high, straight nose was a pair of elegant gold-rimmed glasses.
He swallowed, his perfect jawline as finely carved as if sculpted by a blade. His cold, restrained demeanor exuded an innate aura of imperial authority.
Yan Jiaojiao averted her gaze, forced to admit that Xie Chuanyan’s looks had her completely captivated.
As someone who prized appearance, she couldn’t find anyone in the capital more handsome than him.
Such a handsome face had to be his.
“Where am I?”
The room was decorated in shades of pink, with plenty of stuffed toys even on the bed, much like her room back at the Yan family home.
“This is Morning Garden, where I live. You used to stay here too. Uncle Yan has already sent your things over. To help you recover your memories better, you’ll be staying here for a while.”
Before losing her memory, Yan Jiaojiao had loved clinging to him, so she had a dedicated room here as well.
Yan Jiaojiao was somewhat surprised to hear so many words from him, but she quickly latched onto the key phrase. “Stay here? Who wants to live with you?”
“I don’t agree!”
She threw off the covers and got out of bed, but before her feet could touch the floor, she heard a warning tone. “Put on your shoes.”
Pursing her lips, Yan Jiaojiao obediently slipped on her shoes and followed him downstairs, heading straight for the door.
Just one step away, the bodyguards outside stopped her. Yan Jiaojiao bristled with anger, planting her hands on her hips as she glared at the men in black.
“What do you think you’re doing? Do you know who I am? How dare you stop the eldest daughter of the Yan family! Have you never seen how formidable I can be?”
She tried to roll up her sleeves but realized she was wearing a short-sleeved shirt. Crossing her arms, she huffed, “Hmph, move aside!”
No one replied. The air remained silent for over ten seconds. Yan Jiaojiao was all talk and had no real ability to confront them head-on.
“Come here.”
Xie Chuanyan calmly placed a glass of milk on the dining table, watching the girl whose face was full of defiance.
Yan Jiaojiao had always been proud, spoiled, and willful. During her school days, she was frequently criticized by teachers, and it was always Xie Chuanyan who cleaned up her messes afterward.
She used to love clinging to him softly, acting coquettish and making all sorts of small demands. Xie Chuanyan had been more than happy to indulge her.
It could be said that half of her pride was nurtured by his doting.
In the past, no matter how big her temper was, he could always coax her into calming down within a few days. After losing several years of memories, she instead developed a rebellious streak, wishing she could vanish from his sight immediately.
Xie Chuanyan watched Yan Jiaojiao squatting defiantly on the ground, drawing circles, and felt a headache coming on. “I’ll take you to school after breakfast.”
Yan Jiaojiao looked down at the silly rabbit on her slippers, thought for a few seconds, then stood up. If he wanted her to eat breakfast, why didn’t he say so earlier? Her stomach was already growling.
