In the room.

Xu Zhiyuan struggled to steady herself, but her limbs still seemed somewhat uncooperative, swaying unsteadily. Unaware of her own state, she believed she was walking perfectly straight and turned back to look at He Jiayu with a proud expression.

He Jiayu’s throat tightened. Xu Zhiyuan probably didn’t realize how adorable she looked at that moment—adorable with a hint of alluring charm. That glance over her shoulder carried a hook that stirred his heart.

He reluctantly agreed, “Yes, you’re walking in a straight line.” He said, “Go take a shower.”

“Okay.” She nodded heavily, obedient and well-behaved, then swayed her way toward the bathroom. Several times she veered off course but quickly corrected herself, turning back to tell He Jiayu, “See, still a straight line.” Each time, He Jiayu would smile and give an affirmative response. Only after the bathroom door closed did he take his clothes and go to wash up in another room’s bathroom.

Originally, the alcohol content of the red wine wasn’t high, but Xu Zhiyuan had only drunk two glasses and was already this drunk, which showed just how low her alcohol tolerance was.

It would be better not to let Xu Zhiyuan drink in the future.

By the time He Jiayu finished showering and returned, Xu Zhiyuan still wasn’t done. He leaned against the headboard and checked his phone for a while before Xu Zhiyuan finally emerged from the bathroom. He instinctively looked over, and when he saw Xu Zhiyuan, his breath suddenly caught, his eyes turning dark and dangerous.

Xu Zhiyuan remained completely unaware, failing to notice how perilous her current state was. Her hair was wet, water droplets sliding from the tips of her hair along her skin, slowly rolling downward and caressing her flesh. One strap of her camisole had slipped off, revealing a gleaming white shoulder that appeared warm and ambiguous under the soft yellow light. Further down was a stretch of snowy skin…

Innocent yet seductive—that described Xu Zhiyuan perfectly at this moment.

Xu Zhiyuan didn’t notice He Jiayu’s unusual reaction. After her shower, she was much more awake but still somewhat dazed. She walked straight to the bed and was about to lie down when He Jiyu quickly stopped her.

“What’s wrong?” Xu Zhiyuan turned her head and looked at him blankly.

He Jiayu’s Adam’s apple bobbed again as he said, “Your hair isn’t dry yet. Sit still, I’ll go get the hairdryer.”

Hearing this, Xu Zhiyuan reached up and touched her hair. It was indeed still wet and dripping. She nodded obediently, “Then hurry up and get it.”

She even started urging him.

He Jiayu smiled helplessly, got up to fetch the hairdryer, and had Xu Zhiyuan sit on the bed so he could dry her hair.

His fingers combed through her hair, gently weaving through the strands as the sound of the hairdryer hummed in their ears. Xu Zhiyuan closed her eyes contentedly, letting out a satisfied sigh, like a kitten being pampered to perfection.

He Jiayu’s gaze grew even darker.

He had once said that he was a normal man with desires and physical needs.

It was just that he and Xu Zhiyuan hadn’t been very familiar before, so he gave both himself and Xu Zhiyuan time to get acquainted and adjust.

Now, with his wife appearing irresistibly tempting and completely defenseless before him, the desires within him broke free from their cage, and a fiery heat had long filled his lower abdomen.

Even so, He Jiayu still conscientiously dried Xu Zhiyuan’s hair, only stopping when it was mostly done. By then, Xu Zhiyuan was already drowsy. This time, He Jiayu didn’t show the same consideration as before by letting her sleep. Instead, he reached out and pinched her cheek.

Xu Zhiyuan frowned and opened her eyes, immediately meeting He Jiayu’s gaze. Seeing those dangerous and aggressive eyes, she instinctively leaned back, but was immediately stopped by He Jiayu’s hand on her back, unable to retreat further.

“What, what are you doing?”

He Jiayu moved closer, his forehead almost touching hers. His other hand slid slowly down her arm, then grasped her palm.

“Zhiyuan, is this okay?”

His scorching breath enveloped her senses, and in an instant, Xu Zhiyuan understood what He Jiayu meant. Her face immediately flushed, a captivating red spreading from her ears all the way down to her neck.

After a moment, under He Jiayu’s gaze, Xu Zhiyuan nodded stiffly.

“Mmm.”

Before she could even think, her lips were captured by He Jiayu’s kiss—urgent yet restrained, as if afraid of frightening her.

Although she had long known this day would come and had prepared herself, when their lips and tongues intertwined, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. Yet, it wasn’t just nervousness—deep down, there was also a hidden anticipation.

Sensing her tension and the stiffness of her body, He Jiayu’s kiss softened, carrying a soothing quality. His hand moved from her back to the nape of her neck, gently caressing and comforting her.

“Don’t be nervous, follow me.”

He slightly released her lips but didn’t pull away. After speaking, he kissed her again, finding her tongue and dancing with it in a shared rhythm.

Gradually, Xu Zhiyuan’s body began to relax. Noticing this, He Jiayu could no longer restrain himself. His hands began to wander, igniting flames across Xu Zhiyuan’s body.

The temperature in the room rose higher and higher. The two were like two flames, entwining and slowly merging together in their embrace.

The bedsheets beneath them gathered into folds. Moonlight tried to peek through the window at the spring scene inside but could only see their interlocked fingers. In the end, it gave up and chose to hide among the clouds.

…

Morning.

Sunlight poured forcefully into the room but did not immediately wake the two sleeping with their necks entwined.

It was unclear how much time had passed before there was movement on the bed.

Xu Zhiyuan woke up, feeling her shoulder sore from being pressed. She tried to turn over to stretch, only to discover that her entire body ached terribly—it wasn’t just her shoulder. In that instant, memories of the previous night flooded her mind, and her face flushed crimson.

He Jiayu had actually woken up much earlier. He had intended to get up, but his arm was pinned under Xu Zhiyuan’s head. Every time he moved, she would frown and mumble something, so he simply gave up and stayed lying beside her. Naturally, he noticed Xu Zhiyuan’s reaction.

A flower that has been watered is different—there was a touch of newfound charm between her brows, yet she remained as adorable as ever.

Hearing a soft chuckle, Xu Zhiyuan was startled. She looked up and met He Jiayu’s smiling eyes, causing her face to turn even redder with embarrassment.

“Is your shoulder uncomfortable?”

He Jiayu smiled and reached out to place his hand on her shoulder, but before he could touch her, Xu Zhiyuan shyly dodged.

“N-no, it’s fine.” Xu Zhiyuan tried to calm herself. It was merely fulfilling marital duties—nothing out of the ordinary.

But how could such matters be resolved with simple mental reassurance? Her face remained flushed and radiant, captivating He Jiayu’s heart.

Before last night, he had always viewed his desires from a rational perspective, but having tasted the sweetness, his mindset had already changed.

He reached out and pressed his hand against her shoulder. The smooth, delicate texture was captivating, but he restrained his rising desire once more, massaging her shoulder without any trace of lust.

“You need to get used to it sooner, because we are husband and wife—the most intimate relationship there is. Understand?”
