“Still going for tea?” Xia Wan walked up to Ji Heng and asked softly.
She hadn’t expected the gathering to end so late. After the movie, they had sat there chatting for a while.
This time, she wasn’t as awkward as during dinner—Ji Heng had kept the conversation going with her.
Ji Heng deliberately curved his lips and said, “Yes, didn’t we agree?”
Xia Wan pouted, “Fine.” She was actually a bit tired and not very keen on going.
The curve of Ji Heng’s lips deepened as he said unhurriedly, “Alright, just teasing you. It’s already very late—we’ll go tomorrow.”
Hearing this, Xia Wan secretly glared at him.
Ji Heng noticed her small gesture and chuckled, “If you keep glaring at me, I might change my mind.”
Xia Wan denied it outright, “I wasn’t glaring at you. You must have seen wrong.”
Ji Heng smiled and said nothing.
The next morning.
When Xia Wan went downstairs for breakfast, she didn’t forget to bring the can of tea leaves from the table.
In the dining room, aside from the waitstaff, she was the only one having breakfast.
While waiting for her meal, she took out her phone and sent Ji Heng a message.
[Are you awake?]
By the time the server brought her breakfast, she still hadn’t received a reply.
“Do CEOs sleep in too?” Xia Wan wondered to herself.
But then she reconsidered.
Of course—coming here was about relaxation. Naturally, he’d sleep until he woke up on his own, doing whatever felt comfortable.
After finishing breakfast, Xia Wan decided not to go back upstairs and instead planned to go bamboo rafting.
She left the can of tea leaves stored at the restaurant.
Ji Heng saw Xia Wan’s message several hours later.
He went to ring the doorbell at Xia Wan’s room, but no one answered.
Standing at her door, he was about to message her to ask where she was when he heard the elevator ding nearby.
Xia Wan, wearing a white spaghetti-strap maxi dress, stepped out of the elevator.
Seeing the person standing at her door, she was somewhat surprised. “What are you doing here?”
“Looking for you.” Ji Heng glanced down and noticed a large section of her skirt hem was soaked. Unconsciously, his brow furrowed slightly. “What have you been up to this time?”
Xia Wan took out her key card and opened the door. “I went bamboo rafting.”
Ji Heng didn’t linger. “Go change your clothes quickly. I’ll wait for you downstairs in the dining room.”
Xia Wan looked puzzled. “Wait for me? I already had breakfast.”
Ji Heng parted his lips lightly. “Aren’t you going to treat me to tea?”
Xia Wan suddenly remembered. “Right, I will. I’ll come down as soon as I change.”
She had almost forgotten about it after her outing.
Looking through the clothes in her suitcase, Xia Wan chose a haze-blue spaghetti-strap maxi dress.
Most of the dresses she brought were spaghetti-strap styles, fitting the vacation vibe.
She reapplied some sunscreen and headed out.
When she reached the dining room, Ji Heng was having breakfast—or more accurately, lunch.
Xia Wan didn’t walk toward Ji Heng. Instead, she went up to a server and asked her to brew two cups of tea using the leaves she had left earlier.
Ji Heng looked at the person sitting across from him. “Do you want to eat something?”
Xia Wan shook her head. “No, I’m not hungry yet.”
The man was lean and tall, with distinct, slender fingers. Beneath his fair skin, faint blue veins were faintly visible.
The way he ate was like watching a film—full of artistic flair, making the restaurant feel even more upscale.
It was a shame those hands weren’t doing hand modeling.
For a moment, Xia Wan was lost in thought. This man’s attributes were simply too exceptional. Not only did he have a face that could make both gods and mortals resentful, but his hands were also so beautiful. There wasn’t a single flaw on his entire body—every part was perfect.
The term Sister Nan often used to describe her was equally fitting for Ji Heng.
The man before her was also a “disaster.”
It wasn’t until the waiter brought two cups of tea that Xia Wan’s thoughts were interrupted.
She urged, “Try it quickly.”
Ji Heng put down his chopsticks. “Why aren’t you trying it?”
Xia Wan said casually, “It’s too hot.” As soon as she finished speaking, she immediately closed her mouth. She had spoken too quickly and revealed what she was really thinking.
Ji Heng laughed. “So you want me to try it first because it’s too hot? You’re quite considerate.”
Xia Wan curled her fingers and defended herself, “I didn’t mean for you to drink it directly. You should blow on it and then take small sips to taste it.”
Ji Heng raised an eyebrow slightly. “Can’t we just wait for it to cool down?”
“Tea should be drunk while it’s hot. The flavor changes when it cools,” she continued. “I just can’t tell good tea from bad, so I wanted you to try it first.”
“Alright, I’ll drink it.” Ji Heng picked up the small cup of tea from the table, blew on it a few times, and took a sip.
Xia Wan watched him with eager anticipation. “How is it? Does it taste good?”
Ji Heng swallowed his initial evaluation. “It’s alright.”
It was far from the tea he usually drank, but that wasn’t Xia Wan’s fault—it was due to the type of tea.
That tea region had excellent tea leaves. She probably didn’t know which area to pick from and had just randomly chosen a spot to harvest.
Xia Wan’s lips curved upward. “Really?” She picked up her cup and took a sip, then frowned. “Why do I think it doesn’t taste good? It’s bitter and astringent.”
Ji Heng remained composed. “Maybe you’re just not used to it.” It wasn’t particularly good, but it wasn’t undrinkable either.
“Maybe.” She rarely drank tea normally. Fortunately, she had only asked the waiter to brew a small cup, which could be finished in just a few sips.
Both of them finished the tea in their cups.
As they walked, Xia Wan asked, “When you came to my room earlier, had you just woken up?”
Ji Heng: “Yeah. You woke up quite early.”
“Of course,” she retorted. “Who sleeps until noon like you do?”
Xia Wan realized she was becoming more and more relaxed around Ji Heng, even able to joke with him.
Yet they had only known each other for a few days. It felt like they had known each other for a long time.
Perhaps it was because they had spent so much time together these past few days and had fun together.
One day felt like several.
Ji Heng curled his lips and drawled, “Right, I wonder who was the one last time who slept until noon.”
Xia Wan was taken aback and evaded vaguely, “We’re both the same, then.”
She had forgotten about the time Ji Heng waited for her while she rode the cable car.
Xia Wan lowered her gaze slightly. “Are you all leaving tomorrow?”
If they were leaving, she would call her driver to pick her up too.
“Not sure yet. The company hasn’t called.” He had finished all the work he needed to handle before coming here.
Unless it was urgent, they wouldn’t call to disturb him.
Hearing this, Xia Wan felt unexpectedly happy, thinking to herself: Maybe I’m just happy because I can stay a few more days.
“If I agree to endorse the resort, who should I contact?”
Ji Heng kept pace with Xia Wan. “You can contact any of us. You have all five of our contact information anyway.”
“Oh.” Xia Wan felt her happy mood fade just a little.Ji Heng naturally didn’t notice this subtle shift in her mood. “From what you’re saying, it sounds like you’re planning to accept this endorsement?”
“Hmm… I’ll think about it some more. There are plenty of brands wanting me as their spokesperson,” Xia Wan replied with a hint of playful pride.
Mimicking her deliberate pace, Ji Heng drawled, “Indeed, you are the most commercially valuable female star.”
Xia Wan: “You’re quite well-informed.”
Ji Heng: “How could I not be, when we want to sign you with Ji’s Entertainment?”
