Xia Wan looked at the man beside her. “Are you free?”
Ji Heng paused slightly in his steps. “What’s wrong?”
After a few quiet seconds, Xia Wan said softly, “I want you to show me around. I still haven’t explored this place fully.”
If it were anyone else, she probably wouldn’t have spoken up, but facing Ji Heng, she said it naturally.
Actually, she could have explored alone, but she just wanted…
Ji Heng replied in a leisurely tone, “Aren’t I already showing you around?”
After leaving the restaurant, he had led Xia Wan outside instead of heading toward the accommodations.
Xia Wan was taken aback for a moment, then smiled. “Then show me the scenery you think is the most beautiful.”
She had thought Ji Heng was just chatting with her here and would leave soon.
“Every spot here is beautiful.” This wasn’t him boasting—it was the truth.
Xia Wan: “Alright, then just take me wherever you like. You must know this place better than I do.”
Ji Heng lifted the corner of his lips. “So, I’m your tour guide now? And for free, too.”
“Do you want to charge? How much?” If he really charged, she would definitely pay—more, not less.
A tour guide as handsome as him would be hard to find elsewhere, but she knew Ji Heng was probably just joking.
Ji Heng went along with her words. “How much do you think is appropriate?”
Xia Wan actually thought about it. “I don’t know. I feel like no amount of money would be enough.”
Ji Heng chuckled softly. “Since you’re so good with words, I’ll make an exception today and be your free tour guide.”
Hearing this, Xia Wan also laughed. “Thank you, then. If you ever need my help in the future, just say the word. I’ll definitely help.”
But given Ji Heng’s status and position, there probably wouldn’t be anything he needed her help with.
It was more likely she would be the one asking him for help.
Ji Heng responded, “Alright.” But his thoughts mirrored Xia Wan’s.
The two strolled around the resort, chatting and laughing. Xia Wan felt this was the happiest she had ever been while exploring.
When they encountered certain sights, Ji Heng would even explain them to her, making him an exceptionally competent “tour guide.”
Halfway through their walk, Ji Heng’s phone rang.
“What is it?”
“Where are you? You’re not in your room or the restaurant.” The caller was Su Yi.
They were having a meal together.
Ji Heng didn’t stop walking. “I’m out exploring. Something up?”
Su Yi: “What’s so interesting about exploring outside? It’s not like it’s your first time here. We said we’d go fishing today. Hurry up and come over. We’re waiting for you at the restaurant.”
With that, he hung up.
Xia Wan tilted her head slightly and asked, “Is something the matter? If you have things to do, you can leave first. I can explore on my own.”
Ji Heng stood still, hands in his pockets, and said casually, “It was Su Yi. We’re going fishing later. Do you want to come along?”
“Fishing?” Their planned activities really were polar opposites—last time, they chose the physically demanding mountain climbing, and this time, it was leisurely fishing.
“Yeah, coming?” Ji Heng asked again.
Xia Wan hesitated for a moment before saying quietly, “But I’ve never fished before. I don’t know how.”
Ji Heng lifted his eyelids slightly. “It’s very simple. I’ll teach you.”
Xia Wan agreed with a smile and asked, “Where is the fishing spot? I haven’t seen it.”
This resort was ridiculously large—no wonder they provided shuttle vehicles here.
“You’ll find out when we get there.” Ji Heng glanced at her slender hands and arms exposed to the air. “Go put on a jacket first. It’s quite windy there.”Xia Wan glanced down slightly. “Do I need to change clothes?”
“No need.” Ji Heng asked curiously, “How many clothes did you bring here?”
Every time he saw her, she was wearing different outfits. Like on the hiking day, she had changed several sets of clothes.
He suspected she had brought her entire wardrobe with her.
Xia Wan: “At least a dozen pieces, I’m not sure exactly how many.”
Anyway, her suitcase had been packed to the brim.
Ji Heng walked with her toward the accommodation area. “No wonder I’ve never seen you wear the same outfit twice.”
“I would never wear the same clothes repeatedly.” She had more clothes than she could possibly wear through. With so many beautiful outfits, she would never wear the same piece twice.
She then added, “You’re the same.”
Ji Heng smiled. “Yes, that’s one thing we have in common.” No piece of clothing could make him wear it twice.
When they reached the hotel entrance, Ji Heng stopped. “I’ll wait for you at the restaurant. Xu Haonan and the others are all there.”
He needed to go ahead and inform the others, otherwise they might make a fuss and ask all sorts of questions when they saw Xia Wan.
Xia Wan nodded. “Okay.”
Chen Yubai saw Ji Heng walking over unhurriedly. “We’ve been waiting for you.”
“Wait a bit longer. Xia Wan is coming with us.” Ji Heng casually pulled out a chair and sat down.
“Alright then.” Xu Haonan asked in surprise, “But how did she know we were going fishing? Did you run into each other?”
Su Yi seemed to understand something. “Earlier you said you were walking around outside – were you with Xia Wan?”
Everything made sense now. He had wondered why Ji Heng would be casually strolling around the resort for no reason.
Ji Heng responded indifferently with a “Hmm.”
Gu Chi felt somewhat unbalanced. “How come you two keep running into each other? I’ve never encountered my idol alone.”
They were all staying in the same place, so how come Ji Heng had all the luck?
Ji Heng glanced at him and said word by word, “No comment.”
“You…” Gu Chi’s words were cut off by Ji Heng.
“Quiet, Xia Wan’s coming.” She was wearing a knit sweater that matched the color of her dress.
Ji Heng was the first to stand up. “Let’s go.”
