Wuli walked down the corridor after classes with her heart in her throat.

The sun was sinking toward the horizon. Students all around her streamed outward, some heading home, others staying on campus. The white-haired girl watched them with cold eyes.

In a world where coming into contact with the male leads could cost her life, what would happen if she simply avoided all contact with them?Full novel: Surviving an Otome Game [Western Fantasy] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Wuli had never tried it before, but she felt it was worth a shot.

Step by step, she walked along the corridor. The voices around her gradually faded away, and the evening sunlight, sliced apart by the glass windows, fell across the side of her face.

As always, she continued forward with calm composure.

Then suddenly, a sheet of paper appeared on the floor.

It’s here. It’s all happening.

This was Male Lead Fion’s entrance scene. Wuli remembered it vividly, so there was no way she could fail to recognize this piece of paper.

It was the medium through which Fion and the female lead first came into contact.

In the original game, the female lead picked up the letter, discovered that it belonged to Fion, and brought it to Professor Fion. But Wuli, who was deliberately trying to avoid all such encounters, decided to pretend she hadn’t seen it.

However, just as she was about to walk past it, her eyes accidentally caught the title written on the page.

— Regarding a Report on Time Travel

Wuli: …

Wasn’t this literally about transmigration???

How had it managed to hit her sore spot so precisely????

Male Lead Fion researched this stuff too???!!!

Why had she never heard about that before?!?!

She had to admit it. This game had won.

All the determination she had painstakingly built up crumbled in an instant.

The moment she saw the words “time travel,” Wuli could no longer walk away. Her white hair fell around her face as her gaze locked onto the title, turning the words space-time travel over and over in her mind.

She remained silent for two or three seconds.

Then Wuli gritted her teeth and made her decision.

Pick it up!! She absolutely had to pick it up!!!

She couldn’t let even the slightest hope of going home slip through her fingers!!!

The white-haired girl bent down and picked up the paper. The glow of the setting sun swept across it, and the sound of leather shoes striking the floor suddenly echoed through the corridor.

Wuli: ?!!

The sheet of paper was still clutched in her hand. She hadn’t even had time to read the report before a figure appeared in front of her.

Fion’s golden hair shone brilliantly beneath the crimson light of the setting sun. His distinctive gold-and-black heterochromatic eyes were enough to draw anyone’s attention. Just like that, he appeared directly before Wuli, leaving her no chance to avoid him.

The fingers holding the paper trembled slightly.

Instantly, she realized something was wrong.

How could this sheet of paper have been conveniently left behind here?

And how could Fion have just happened to walk over at the exact moment she picked it up?

This was obviously someone’s scheme.

‘I’m done for. I walked right into the trap.’

Wuli’s pale blue eyes met the Saint’s gaze in silent confrontation.

The Saint maintained his impeccable smile throughout. His gaze wandered discreetly over Wuli before the smile on his lips deepened.

He was very satisfied with this white-haired girl.

‘Perfect. The gods will like her.’

The only flaw was that she had hesitated for a moment before picking up a classmate’s lost paper. It seemed this girl’s heart was not entirely pure.

But that was fine.

A minor flaw did not detract from the whole.

Wuli ground her back teeth together and lowered her eyes respectfully.

“Professor Fion.”

At those words, Fion stepped forward.

He neither told her to leave nor gave her any instructions.

Only when the golden-haired young man approached did he casually raise a slender hand and pluck the paper from Wuli’s grasp. His gaze never left her for even a moment. Smiling, he narrowed his eyes slightly and unfolded the cover page of the report, revealing Fion’s name.

“Student, this paper you picked up belongs to me.”

His voice was gentle enough.

Wuli took a step back.

She was already regretting it.

She should have pretended not to see anything and walked right past it, ruining whoever had set this trap.

That was what she thought inwardly, but on the surface…

The girl smiled apologetically.

“I only happened to pick it up just now. Sorry for disturbing you, Professor Fion. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving first.”

Fion did not let her go.

The moment the girl’s final words fell, he spoke.

“Are you interested in this?”

He had witnessed the entire process of the white-haired girl picking up the paper.

Why had she clearly intended to leave, only to stop and pick it up after seeing the title?

There could only be one reason.

Fion continued smiling, showing no displeasure toward these little thoughts of hers. He had always been remarkably tolerant of people he considered perfect.

A flicker of surprise crossed Wuli’s face.

The light in the golden-haired young man’s heterochromatic eyes softened slightly.

‘Just as I thought.’

This white-haired girl was interested in space-time travel.

Then Fion made a decision that had never existed in the original storyline, and one that no one would have expected.

He unfolded the report once more and held it out before her.

“If you’re interested, you can take a look first.”

Wuli retreated another half-step.

She swallowed.

In the end, under Fion’s smiling gaze, she reached out and accepted the paper. Following his invitation, she scanned the report from top to bottom.

The contents were straightforward and shallow. There was nothing she actually wanted to know.

Disappointment washed over her.

She concealed it perfectly.

After quickly reading through the report, she returned it to Fion.

“Thank you, Professor. My brother is waiting for me, so I’ll be leaving now.”

The golden-haired young man was momentarily taken aback.

Within his faint smile lingered a trace of dissatisfaction directed toward the girl.

In the span of only a few minutes, the girl before him had already said she wanted to leave twice.

This time, however, the golden-haired young man did not stop her.

He shifted slightly to one side and gave way.

The white-haired girl brushed past him.

As she left, she stirred up a gust of wind, looking very much like someone in a hurry to escape.

As she passed the corner of the staircase, Wuli ran into the First Prince again.

Glenn met her gaze.

Wuli was the first to look away. She headed downstairs, and from beginning to end, there was no further interaction between them.

Glenn: “…”

Following the stairs upward, Glenn immediately spotted the golden-haired young man who was still lingering in the corridor.

His expression instantly turned cold.

Recalling the hurried look on Wuli’s face just moments ago, Glenn quickly realized that only two people had been in the corridor at the time.

“What? Have you taken a liking to my ‘fiancée’ as well?”

He deliberately emphasized the word fiancée, his dark crimson eyes fixed on the Saint, with whom he had never seen eye to eye.

The Saint continued to smile, his expression warm and pleasant.

Yet his words were no less barbed.

“Your fiancée?”

He spoke slowly, word by word, each syllable dripping with mockery.

Glenn let out a cold snort.

*

Wuli couldn’t care less what would happen if the two male leads clashed.

Fion was a lunatic too.

If Shuen and Glenn were openly insane, then this Saint was the type who hid his madness beneath a polished exterior.

Back when she played the game, Fion’s introduction had practically made him seem like a normal person.

He had looked like a breath of fresh air in a game full of maniacs.

Fortunately, Wuli had kept her guard up while playing.

As expected, she had still ended up getting stabbed in the back.

Heh.

Heh heh.

Once she left the academy grounds, Wuli immediately spotted the Sinclair family’s carriage.

Inside, Shuen was gazing out the window. Only when Wuli arrived did his attention settle on her.

She had hurried all the way here and had not even caught her breath yet. The moment she saw Shuen, an instinctive sweet smile bloomed on her face.

“Brother, sorry for keeping you waiting.”

Shuen’s expression remained indifferent.

“Hm?”

“Where did you go?”

Wuli laughed awkwardly and tried to brush it off.

“I happened to find some lost property and returned it to its owner. It delayed me for a little while.”

Shuen showed no reaction.

Neither approval nor disapproval.

Wuli concealed her irritation and carefully kept it hidden, afraid of provoking him. The carriage fell into silence.

The wheels began to rumble forward.
