Chapter 1.

Bliss Became the Demon King’s Child

Something cold fell onto my cheek.

I slowly pried my eyelids open.

I couldn’t understand why they felt so much heavier than usual.

A dusty gray-blue night sky came into view.

Two moons were shining brightly.

Two full moons.

The last time I looked, they had been half-moons.

‘I’ve regressed.

Again.’

I swallowed a sigh.

Another regression.

It meant I had failed yet again.

‘And that the world has ended once more.’

The memories of how the world ended in my previous life flooded my mind.

Even though I hadn’t been there to witness it firsthand, I could see every detail as if my soul had lingered at the scene.

It was always like this after a regression.

How many times had I regressed now, forced to watch the world burn over and over?

I couldn’t even remember what the very first apocalypse had been like anymore.

When I first regressed after the world’s demise, I thought it was a second chance to save it.

But no matter how desperately I struggled, the world always found a way to end.

I was so tired.

I didn’t want to regress anymore.

What was the point of fighting so hard when all it got me was watching my loved ones die again?

Tears welled up as Edwin’s final smile from my last life flashed before my eyes.

Wow.

Tears.

After nearly a thousand regressions, I thought I’d run completely dry.

I decided to just let them flow, savoring the rare sensation.

Letting the tears stream down my face, I stared up at the twin moons.

How old was I this time?

Since I was five in my last run, I figured I’d probably gone back to around age four or five.

With every regression, I woke up at a point earlier than the previous one.

Sometimes it was only a matter of seconds, minutes, or months.

That was how I had ended up starting from age five in my last life.

The only saving grace was that the powers I acquired in each lifetime didn’t disappear; they accumulated, stacking on top of one another.

Thanks to that, I had amassed enough power to confidently call myself the strongest on the continent, but…

It still wasn’t enough to defeat the source of the world’s destruction.

Whoosh…

A gust of wind swept by.

The biting, icy chill felt like it was freezing me to the bone.

‘Freezing?’

There was no way someone as powerful as me should be shivering from a mere cold breeze.
