Warren usually disapproved of Bihan’s casual, almost disrespectful attitude in front of their lord.

Today, however, he had no intention of correcting him.

Warren was thinking the exact same thing.Full novel: Surviving as the Devil’s Child — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Did our lord have a child behind our backs?

It was the only logical explanation.

The baby Bihan was holding looked exactly like Lucas.

She had milk-white skin, shimmering silver hair, and vivid, crimson eyes.

In the entire world, Lucas was the only one with those ruby-red eyes.

If their lord were to be turned into an infant, this was exactly how he would look.

The resemblance was so uncanny that Warren’s heart had been hammering in his chest ever since he laid eyes on the child.

And when the baby wrapped her tiny, plump, maple-leaf-like hand around Bihan’s finger…

I wanted her to hold my finger, too.

If Lucas hadn’t stepped out just then, Warren might have lost all dignity and offered his own finger to the baby.

Lucas stared down at the baby, his lips pressed into a thin line.

Even facing a child who was his spitting image, his gaze remained icy and indifferent.

“Where did you find it?”

Lucas finally spoke.

“Found her abandoned at the mansion gates,” Bihan replied.

“She’s the spitting image of you, My Lord.

Every single feature.

She’s yours, isn’t she?”

“I’ve sired no such thing.”

“But look at her!

She’s your carbon copy!”

“Comparing me to that creature is offensive.

Throw it out, Bihan.”

He can’t be serious, Warren thought.

Throw her out?

A darling thing like that?

If left out in the freezing cold, the poor, sweet thing would freeze to death before morning.

If she was only going to be discarded, Warren wanted to take her in and raise her himself.

But his lord’s word was absolute.

Warren was a man who would gladly end his own life if ordered; he could not disobey.

And so, he could only stand there in silence.

“My Lord, throw her out?” Bihan protested.

“In this weather, she won’t survive the night.”

“Not my concern.”

“And here I thought she was your daughter…

At least let us put her in the barracks…”

“I have no use for something so small.

Get rid of it.”

Having lost all interest, Lucas held out his hand to Warren for his clothes.

Warren, who had been staring blankly at the baby, snapped out of his daze and hurried to gather his master’s garments.

It was then—

“Abah-bah.”

The baby flailed her tiny limbs, letting out an impossibly adorable sound.

All three men froze, their eyes snapping to the baby at once.

The pale, chubby-cheeked infant was reaching out both hands toward Lucas, her plump little legs kicking eagerly.
