But now…

“What an absolutely darling baby.”

“Do you think she really is his daughter?”

“No way…”

Masha, my nanny, was currently changing my diaper.

To think that I, the Punisher who once made the entire Krafia Continent tremble, had been reduced to having my diaper changed.

My miserable plight wrung a heavy sigh from my tiny chest.

“Heewoo.”

“Oh my, I think she just tried to speak!”

“She must be happy to have a fresh diaper on.”

Dammit.

“Look at her chubby little hands!”

“And her legs!

They’re so plump and adorable.”

“Still, isn’t this bed a bit too big for her?

She really needs a proper crib.”

At Masha’s words, I looked around.

It was indeed an excessively large room with a massive bed, far too big for an infant.

Five grown adults could easily sleep on this bed with room to spare.

I had fully expected to be shoved into some dusty storeroom, so this luxurious chamber was a shock.

Knowing Lucas’s ruthless nature, I found this treatment highly unexpected.

“I can hold her for a bit, Masha.”

A young maid reached her hands out toward me.

“No, Ann.

You’ve never held a baby before.”

“I’ll be careful, Masha.

I promise.

Just once, please?”

At Ann’s pleading, Masha sighed and looked down at me with a helpless smile.

Her brown eyes were incredibly warm and gentle.

“Little one, is it alright if Ann holds you for a moment?”

Like hell it is.

If an inexperienced maid like Ann dropped me, this fragile infant body would be shattered.

A fall like that could easily crack my skull and kill me.

I had absolutely no desire to regress yet again and end up even smaller than I already was.

“Ugyaa!

Ah-gah!

Bah!” (“No way!

Only someone with years of childcare experience is allowed to handle this precious body!”)

Despite my dead-serious explanation, Masha only offered a bright, beaming smile.

“She says it’s perfectly fine.”

I said it’s NOT fine!

“Thank you, little one!”

“Be very careful, Ann.

Do not drop her.”

“I won’t, Masha.”

Ann’s hands were shaking so violently as she reached for me that my anxiety spiked.

As Masha carefully transferred me, I held my breath and stayed completely still, terrified of slipping through her fingers.

Though she trembled like a leaf, Ann managed to hold onto me.

“She’s so well-behaved.

Most babies would start crying the moment a stranger held them.”

“Now that you mention it, she hasn’t cried once.

She really must be the master’s daughter.”

“Masha, she smells so sweet.”

Ann leaned down, sniffing my head gently.

“I know, right?

Her scent is exceptionally sweet.”
