Chaрtеr 24: Rеstrаint Dоesn’t Fill Your Stomасh
Cen Wаn had nevеr kissеd аnуоnе befоrе. Lu Веixun was nоt only her husband but аlsо her first lоvе, sо hеr kissing skills wеre quitе inехperiеnсed.
Whеn Lu Beixun dоdged, shе chased аfter him. Нe dоdgеd again, аnd she chasеd аgаin.
Сen Wan issuеd а wаrning: “Lu Вeixun, if уou kеep dоdging, I’ll bite yоu. Beliеve it or not.”
Lu Веiхun clеаrly believеd her. Не knew all tоo well hоw unreаsоnаble this wоman cоuld be.
Hе stорped dodging. Cen Wan kissed him clumsilу, hеr inexperiеnсed techniquе likе a spark threatening to ignite Lu Beixun.
She kissed him for a long time, but Lu Beixun showed no reaction. Just as she was about to pull away from his lips and try a different approach, Lu Beixun suddenly wrapped one arm tightly around her waist and cupped the back of her head with his other hand, pressing her down.
Lu Beixun captured her lips, kissing her fiercely and grinding against them as if venting his pent-up frustration.
A sharp pain spread across Cen Wan’s lips. She frowned and endured it. The hand on her waist was forceful, as if trying to mold her into his body.
Perhaps finding the position uncomfortable, Lu Beixun swept her up into his arms and tossed her onto the bed without a hint of gentleness, then leaned over her. Before Cen Wan could say anything, her lips were sealed again, leaving only muffled sounds.
A faint redness tinged the corners of Lu Beixun’s eyes as he kissed her with dominance. His warm hands roamed over her body, and Cen Wan knew he was truly angry.
Cen Wan closed her eyes, enduring his fierce and intense kiss and the wandering hands that ignited flames across her body.
She let out a soft moan, secretly hoping Lu Beixun would take things further, but he abruptly stopped his movements.
Dizzy and breathless from Lu Beixun’s kiss, she was only released when she was nearly oxygen-deprived.
She wrapped her arms around Lu Beixun’s neck, panting softly, and took a moment to catch her breath.
She squinted with a smile. “Feeling better now?”
“If not… we could always go again.”
Lu Beixun reached out and ruffled her hair. “Where’s your restraint?”
“Restraint doesn’t fill your stomach.”
Her slender fingers traced circles on his chest as she tilted her eyes upward. “Besides, I want to…”
Lu Beixun stood up, straightened his clothes, and glanced at her lying on the bed with slightly disheveled attire. “Then keep wanting.”
With that, Lu Beixun left her bedroom, leaving her with only his tall, retreating figure.
Cen Wan called out, “Don’t you want to?”
Her expression was filled with resentment. She had clearly felt his body react just moments ago. How could he turn cold so quickly? How could he treat her like this? It was too cruel.
Cen Wan straightened her clothes and chased after Lu Beixun. By the time she went downstairs, Cen Xiu had already left. It made sense—even the thickest-skinned person wouldn’t want to stay after being treated like that.
The servants had prepared dinner. Cen Wan went to Cen Luo’s room to call her down. When Cen Luo came downstairs and didn’t see Cen Xiu, she knew things hadn’t ended well.
Cen Luo sighed but didn’t say more. She glanced at Lu Beixun sitting on the sofa, walked over, picked an apple from the fruit bowl on the coffee table, and took a bite, her gaze lingering on Lu Beixun.
After being stared at for a while, Lu Beixun glanced at her. Cen Luo took another bite of her apple. “Brother-in-law, can you handle my sister’s temper?”
Before Lu Beixun could respond, Cen Luo added, “I shouldn’t have asked. Of course you can handle it. You probably spoil her too much to even mind.”
Hearing Cen Luo’s words, Cen Wan mentally scolded herself again. Even Cen Luo knew how much Lu Beixun doted on her, yet she had once gone out of her way to make things difficult for him.
Cen Wan walked over and lightly tapped Cen Luo’s head. “What did I tell you? Stay out of grown-up matters.”Cen Wan rolled her eyes at her. “You pulled this stunt, and now your brother-in-law is upset with me.”
“Huh?” Cen Luo felt she had caused a major disaster and looked at Lu Beixun. “Brother-in-law, don’t be angry with my sister. I was the one who invited Brother Cen Xiu.”
It was true that Cen Luo could be both careless and attentive at times. Ever since Cen Wan married Lu Beixun, she could clearly sense the subtle tension between Lu Beixun and Cen Xiu.
Cen Wan chuckled lightly. “Alright, let’s eat. Tomorrow, hurry back to school.”
Cen Luo complained, “Is that any way to talk to your own sister?”
“Less nonsense.” Cen Wan was also concerned for her safety. With their parents gone, compared to home, school was the safest place. She had also arranged many informants at the school to protect her.
Cen Wan didn’t know that the Cen household was now absolutely safe. Those with ulterior motives had already been removed by Lu Beixun. Apart from a few old servants, the rest of the new faces were all Lu Beixun’s people.
After dinner, Cen Wan prepared to leave, but Cen Luo held her back, refusing to let her go. “Can’t you stay and keep me company?”
“No.”
“Cen Wan, you’re so heartless.” Cen Luo leaned on her shoulder, acting coquettishly. “Stay, please? I want to share some secrets with you.”
Cen Wan couldn’t resist Cen Luo’s acting cute at all. She glanced helplessly at Lu Beixun. “Stay for one night?”
Cen Luo wouldn’t let her leave, and she wouldn’t let Lu Beixun leave either.
After taking a shower, Cen Wan found toiletries and pajamas for Lu Beixun. “I’ll be back soon.”
She went to Cen Luo’s room and slipped under the covers. Cen Luo came out of the bathroom, drying her hair, and glanced at Cen Wan. “You’re leaving brother-in-law all alone in an empty room?”
Cen Wan rolled her eyes at her. “And whose fault is that?”
“Mine, mine.”
After blow-drying her hair, Cen Luo hugged a pillow, sat cross-legged on the bed, and let out a deep sigh.
Cen Wan raised an eyebrow and looked at her. “What’s wrong? Have you fallen in love?”
In her previous life, she seemed to recall Cen Luo mentioning a boy, but it was only in passing. She didn’t say much, and Cen Wan had no idea what happened between them afterward.
“Sort of.” Cen Luo hung her head, poking the pillow with her finger. “There’s this senior who acts all arrogant every day, like he’s something special. He’s so annoying, but I still can’t help liking him. What should I do?”
After a few seconds, Cen Luo added, “Let me make it clear first—he doesn’t like me.”
“Look at how timid you are.” Cen Wan clicked her tongue. “Tell me his name, and I’ll beat him until he likes you.”
Cen Luo gave her a helpless glance. “Can you not be so violent?”
“Forget it, I can’t count on you.” Cen Luo said, “Spoiled rotten by brother-in-law, you only know how to solve problems with violence. Don’t you know that forced love isn’t sweet?”
Cen Wan replied, “I don’t know if it’s sweet or not, but if I can force it, that’s my skill. As long as I’m happy, that’s all that matters.”
“This boy’s uncle is someone you know,” Cen Luo said.
Cen Wan blinked. “Who’s his uncle?”
“Ji Zhi Huai.”
Cen Wan exclaimed inwardly, “Wow.” Ji Zhi Huai was one of Lu Beixun’s few close friends and the person who would make Xu Zhi Tang, the queen of the sea, settle down half a year later.
Cen Wan flipped her hair. “I don’t care who his uncle is. If he doesn’t like my sister, it’s not okay.”
Cen Luo: “…”
Well, she had wasted her breath. “Cen Wan! This is a society governed by law. Don’t use violence to solve problems.”
In the end, Cen Wan was chased out of the room by Cen Luo. She stormed back to her own room, where Lu Beixun was still awake, reading a magazine. She lay sprawled on the bed. After a while, she rolled over onto her stomach and beckoned Lu Beixun with a finger. “Have you ever seen Ji Zhi Huai’s nephew?”
“Is he handsome?”
Lu Beixun’s expression darkened slightly. “I haven’t.”
