Yan Sui couldn’t believe her ears.

“Manager Zhou, are you saying that on my first day of reporting, I can immediately receive next month’s salary, work only two hours a day, and even have weekends off?”

Zhou Yue’s smile was warm and professional:Full novel: Sweet Little Darling Beckons, The Gloomy Boss Loses Control — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“That’s right, Yan Sui. Our benefits have always been this good.”

Yan Sui: “Wow—no wonder your requirements are so high.”

She felt even more that she had made the right choice by shamelessly asking Jiang Yuan for help.

Zhou Yue: “Yes, our requirements are indeed high, but aside from your academic qualifications, you meet all of our criteria. Especially your outstanding appearance—that’s a big plus.”

Her last sentence was sincere.

Yan Sui truly had a face that anyone would like.

Delicate and adorable, completely non-threatening, and she loved to smile.

It felt like even the iced Americano she made would be sweet.

“This is the uniform prepared for you. After changing, I’ll show you around the shop.”

Yan Sui picked up the clothes and walked into the changing room at the back.

At this time, there weren’t many customers.

Two staff members behind the counter whispered among themselves.

“Who is she? We had to go through interviews and training, but she just waltzed in? Why? Some rich family’s young lady?”

“No way, why would a young lady work at a coffee shop?”

“True.”

“She doesn’t look like she’s from a wealthy family. Probably latched onto some young master from Griffin and got placed here for convenience in dating.”

“Exactly the type those rich second-generation kids like—looks innocent and cute, but actually sharper than anyone.”

“Sharp or not, those rich kids are just playing around with this kind. When it’s time to get married, they’ll still find someone from a similar background.”

…

Yan Sui didn’t hear these comments.

Her attention was entirely on her uniform.

Echo’s uniform didn’t look like a uniform at all—it resembled a high-end, minimalist princess dress.

A light apricot color, with exquisite tailoring and fine fabric. It didn’t have the chemical smell of new clothes but instead carried a faint, refreshing fragrance.

The hem reached just above her knees, with a cute layer of white lace trim inside.

As if it were tailor-made for her.

A strange sense of déjà vu suddenly flashed through her mind.

This level of fit… it felt like the last time she wore that dress that mysteriously appeared in her wardrobe…

She stared at her reflection in the mirror for a moment.

When she walked out, Zhou Yue was already waiting outside.

Seeing the girl in this outfit, Zhou Yue’s eyes lit up again.

Yan Sui looked even more delicate and adorable in this dress than she had imagined, like a little peach blossom.

As for why the person above was being so meticulous in his care—

Having become the regional manager, she was smart enough to never ask questions and simply follow instructions.

Zhou Yue smiled gently and began guiding her through the procedures.

Just then, a car stopped outside the door.

Black-tinted windows, a low-key yet luxurious exterior. No one got out, and the inside couldn’t be seen from outside.

Zhou Yue noticed, but Yan Sui didn’t.

The girl was surprised again, amazed that her job was so simple.

All she had to do was stand by the counter, wait for customers to give feedback, and then pass it on to the store manager.

Most of the time, no one had any feedback.

So she was basically just a mascot?

Earning money this easily felt almost like a scam.

“No need to clean? No need for me to make coffee?” the young girl asked.

Zhou Yue laughed: “No need, what we’re currently lacking is just this position. But sometimes if the barista has something to do, we might need you to make a cup or two.”

“Ah, but I don’t know how. Will you teach me now, sister?”

She was already calling her “sister,” sweet and soft.

Zhou Yue, who had seen much of the world, was also greatly cheered by this address.

“Alright, I’ll teach you the simplest one first—iced Americano.”

She demonstrated once, a bit more complicated than Yan Sui had imagined.

There were many steps, and it required some technique—truly worthy of a high-end coffee shop.

After Zhou Yue finished demonstrating, her phone buzzed.

She glanced at it and paused her movements.

“Suisui,” she said, “I suddenly have something to attend to. Could you watch over things here?”

A nearby staff member leaned over: “Sister Yue, you can leave it to me.”

Zhou Yue: “No need. Both of you come over—I have something to discuss.”

“Huh?”

Yan Sui watched in surprise as Zhou Yue led the other two colleagues away.

But she didn’t know how to do anything yet. She hoped no one would come in.

As it turned out, what she feared came to pass.

She heard the crisp sound of bells at the door.

A man in a fitted black suit seemed to have just stepped out of a work environment, his steps unsteady, his thin lips pressed tightly together.

He always carried an air of despondent yet sharp coldness, an aura that naturally repelled everything.

His handsome face was still so pale, his narrow eyes half-lowered as usual, not lifting.

“Mr. Jiang!” the young girl greeted him delightedly, her eyes curving into crescents, “What a coincidence!”

Jiang Yuan did not look up.

He shouldn’t have come in; he hadn’t planned to in the first place.

But…

“Iced Americano,” he said softly.

Yan Sui tilted her head, looking apologetic: “I’m completely unfamiliar with it. Could you wait for someone else to make it for you?”

Jiang Yuan pursed his lips, struggling between not wanting to trouble her and hoping to drink coffee made by her own hands.

He took a deep breath, forcefully pinched his palm, reminding himself to restrain.

Must restrain.

“Then never mind,” he turned to leave.

“Ah, Mr. Jiang, wait a moment.” Yan Sui called him back, “How could I let Mr. Jiang come all this way for nothing? If what I make is terrible, you can’t have me fired, okay~”

Her tone rose slightly at the end, carrying a soft, trailing note, like a small feather brushing against the heart.

Jiang Yuan felt his heart trembling.

He was still troubling her.

“Won’t,” he could only awkwardly utter these two words.

He stood like this by the counter.

Not finding a seat to sit down.

Eyes lowered, his usual inscrutable demeanor.

Seeming in a hurry to leave.

If it were anyone else, they would surely feel immense pressure with Mr. Jiang here.

But Yan Sui felt none at all.

Recalling the steps Zhou Yue had just taught her, she fumbled through making a cup and brought it to Jiang Yuan.

Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Jiang Yuan: “How is it?”

Jiang Yuan picked it up, taking a step back under Yan Sui’s bright, expectant gaze.

Very mindful of boundaries.

He took a sip.

Yan Sui looked on expectantly.

He pursed his lips, “Very good.”

“Really?” Yan Sui smiled happily, her eyes curving, “That’s great, I didn’t disappoint you.”

He nodded slightly, taking sip after sip, the cool liquid carefully flowing over his tongue, reluctant to swallow.

I didn’t want to leave, but I forced myself to walk out, step by step, without looking back.

“Goodbye, Mr. Jiang~” the young girl enthusiastically saw the guest off.

Only when the car at the door drove away did Zhou Yue finally appear.

She had already adjusted from her shocked, petrified state and cleared her throat lightly.

“Suisui, did someone just come?”

“Yes, I made an iced Americano, and it seems quite successful. There’s a little left in the measuring cup—would you like to check it, sis?”

Zhou Yue smiled and nodded, taking it and taking a sip—

Her exceptionally strong control over her expression almost twisted.

It was so bitter it nearly blew the top of her head off!

How many shots of espresso did she put in?!

Is this something humans can drink?!

Yan Sui watched her expression and subtly raised an eyebrow.

It really must be super bitter.

But Mr. Jiang actually drank it without changing his expression and even praised her for doing well.
