[Malcolm’s House]

The next day was Sunday, so I spent it working on my secret car project.

The parts for it weren’t cheap, that’s for sure.

My mom was in the living room relaxing.

She didn’t have any work this weekend, surprisingly considering where the hell we live.

“By this time Tuesday, you’ll be up and running, beautiful,” Patting the car’s hood, then covering it with an indoor cover.

“How’s the project coming?

Any trouble you need any help with?” My mom asked.

“No, not yet, but finding the right artist to do the paint job will be a pain in the ass.

#sigh#” I fell onto the couch across from her.

“So how’s work been lately for you at the hospital?”

“I met an interesting woman at work.

Her name was Melissa, quite the fascinating one.” She replied.

This can’t be what I think it is, can it?

I thought you only get a mate once in your life.

No, maybe I’m overthinking it.

I started heading to the backyard.

“If you need me, I’ll be in the backyard,” I said on my way there.

“Don’t let the neighbors see you.” She replied.

I wasn’t worried about being seen since I knew Mom bought the houses next to ours due to our special circumstances.

So I spent the next 5 hours shifting from werewolf to full-wolf form to avoid any delay when I’m in an emergency.

Right now, the only people I see as a threat are The Beast of Gévaudan and the Unknown creatures that might show up thanks to the Nemeton.

Dark druids might be an issue; that’s if they know what I am.

I made my way to the kitchen to eat dinner, only for my mom to stop me.

“Take a bath before touching that food; you smell like a sweaty dog.” She said, covering her nose.

“Ok, first of all, ouch, that hurt, but fine.” I went upstairs to freshen up.

After bathing, I went to eat dinner with my mom.

We spent the rest of the night watching cheesy romances.

The peace I was experiencing today was a silent reminder that tomorrow’s new threats would rear their ugly heads again.

Doesn’t matter; I like a little entertainment, and hopefully something new and stronger comes from the Nemeton being fully grown.

[Beacon Hills High School]

I decided to arrive early this time.

Why?

I don’t know either.

Making my way to the door, I noticed Scott looking like a pup lost.

Headed straight for my locker, grabbed my books, and put my Lacrosse bag inside.

Close by, I could hear Scott and Stiles talking about what I was, so I hid my presence and approached them.

“Y’know, talking about people behind their backs is considered rude,” I said from behind the two.

They were startled by my sudden appearance.

How the hell are these idiots still alive?

“And nearly killing my best friend is called attempted murder.” Stiles, with his usual humor, answered back.

“Yeah, about that, sorry, Scott, my instincts to protect Allison kicked in.

Since you ditched Olivia at the party, Allison had to keep her company.

Shit, I even lied to her mom for you.”

“Yeah, I know.” He said, looking a bit worried.

“Enough about his screwed-up date.

So are you the one who bit Scott and killed that girl in the woods?” Stiles skipped the pleasantries and went straight to the topic.

“No, I’m not the one who bit him.

I literally just moved here.

And no, I didn’t kill that girl before you go telling your dad the Sheriff and making trouble for me and my mom after we just moved here.” I warned.

I walked past them and headed to class.

“Ohh, and Scott, make sure you make it up to Olivia cause she’s probably pissed at you.

See ya.”

Entering class, I saw Allison seated next to her sister.

I sat in the window seat next to her.

“Good morning, girls.”

“Hey, Malcolm,” Olivia replied.

“Morning, Mal,” Allison said with a smile.

Ohh, a new nickname- don’t mind if I don’t mind, but she’s the only one allowed to use it.

The rest of the day went by smoothly, despite the awkwardness between Scott and Olivia.

My attention was divided; one part was focused on Classes and the other on Allison.

School came to an end, and her dad was coming to pick them up from school.

I had lacrosse, so I said goodbye and went on my way.

Scott was sitting on a bench outside the school waiting for Olivia.

“So what happened?

You ditched me at the party.” She said without breaking stride.

“Y-Yeah, I know, and I’m really sorry.

I am.

You’re gonna trust me; I had a really good reason.” He followed her, apologizing.

“Did you get sick or something?” She asked.

“Definitely had an attack of something,” he replied,

“Am I gonna get an explanation?” She stopped and asked him.

“Can you find it to trust me on this one?” He asked her sincerely.

*sigh* “Am I gonna regret this?” Olivia asked with a slight smile.

“Probably.” Scott returned the smile.

She laughed at his answer.

“So is that a yes on a second chance?” He eagerly asked with a smile.

“Definitely a yes.” She replied.

BEEP BEEP

A car horn came from the road.

“Olivia, time to go,” Allison said from ahead.

“It’s my dad; I gotta go.” She headed over to the car and got in the backseat.

Scott went to the school.

His senses made him turn around; he looked at the car and saw the same hunter from the woods smiling at him.

He waved at him.

Olivia smiled back at him before leaving with her dad and her sister.

[Locker room]

Scott walked in and took off his equipment, looking like his soul had left the vicinity, and leaned against the locker.

Stiles, noticing while walking past, came back to check on him, concerned for his best friend.

“Did you apologize to Olivia?” Stiles asked.

“Yeah,” he said, looking in the distance.

“She gonna give you a second chance or?”

“Yeah.”

“Yeah, alright, so everything’s good,” Stiles said with a smile and went to go change.

“No,” Scott said.

“No?” Stiles came back, losing his smile.

“Lemme guess, you found out that her dad’s the hunter from last night,” I said from the other side while changing.

“Wait, you knew.

Why didn’t you say anything?” Scott asked, being brought out of his daze.

“Cause you didn’t ask,” I said, changing into my lacrosse gear.

“O-oh my God, oh my god ohh no.” Scott started to panic.

“Hey-hey Scott, you ok?

Hey, he didn’t recognize you, right?” Silles tried to calm him down.

“N-no, no, I don’t think so.”

“Do they know about it?” Stiles asked him.

“Wah-I don’t know what if she does.” Aaand back to depressed Scott.

PHWEEEE PHWEEEE

Coach’s whistle came from the field.

“Just kill me, man,” Scott said with imaginary tears.

“Hey, let’s focus on Lacrosse for now.

Just focus on lacrosse, okay.” Stiles grabbed Scott’s lacrosse gear and gave it to him.

“That’s all you gotta do, hmmm YEAHH?” Stiles tries to hype him up, patting him on the side.

“Lacrosse?” Scott said.

“Don’t worry, Scott, you got this.

Just focus on lacrosse, and the rest we’ll deal with when it comes.” I tried to cheer him up.

“SEE, even he thinks you got this,” Stiles said, then walked off next to me, leaving Scott to change.

“He’s screwed, isn’t he?” Stiles asked me

“Ohh, absolutely.” I laughed

So no, Kate Argent love interest got it.

Any ideas are still welcome; don’t hold back, and thanks for the support.

God bless all who see this and their families.
