School ended after the Lacrosse practice, so I decided to go introduce myself to Derek Hale, one of the few survivors during the Hale House fire caused by Kate Argent, Allison and Olivia’s Aunt.

On my way to the Hale house, I noticed Scott and Stiles going to where Scott found Laura’s body.

There’s a killer on the loose; it’s not safe, especially not in the woods.” I said, approaching them.

“Let me guess, you two are looking for the dead body that everyone’s been talking about in school.”

“Yeah, I also dropped my inhaler here last time we were here.” Stiles hits Scott in his chest, stopping him from exposing too much.

“Dude, don’t just tell a stranger your plans in the woods.” Stiles whispers, making sure I can’t hear them.

“What about you, your basically doing the same thing as us.” Stiles tries to say, trying to pry an answer out of me.

In the distance, I can feel someone’s presence getting closer to where we are.

Suddenly derek appears without Scott or Stiles noticing.

He focuses his gaze on me, trying to figure out what I am and why I’m in Beacon Hills.

Matching his gaze, I can sense his emotions, and my senses are on high alert, one being from my progenitor’s presence and two is grief from losing his sister, Laura Hale.

“What are you doing here?

You’re trespassing.

This is private property.” Stiles taps Scott on the shoulder to get his attention and look at Derek.

“Sorry, man, we didn’t know.” Stiles answers while scratching the back of his head.

“Yeah, we were looking for something, but just…

forget it-” Derek throws Scott’s inhaler at him, then walks away.

While they were all talking, I made my way to the old Hale House and saw Derek come out of the tree line.

Standing up from the stairs, I walked towards him.

“What are you doing here?” He asked, clenching his fists, making a cracking sound.

“I’m Malcolm Rivera, just moved here, so I thought I’d introduce myself to the local Beta-werewolf,” I replied.

“So you gonna introduce yourself, or is that also private?” I asked.

“Derek Hale,” he replied, fists still clenched and on guard, “So what are you?”

“I’m like you, but the first of our kind, and I’m here to tell you to watch your back, not from me but from the forest itself.”

I turn my head towards the trees all over the house.

I focus my hearing and hear Scott and Stiles leaving.

“You’ve noticed it too, right?

The supernatural energy here is stronger than in most places.

It’s so strong that even the animals living in the forests have started to be affected by it.” I explain to him, looking in the direction of the Nemeton, its pull getting stronger as the day of the full moon grows closer.

Walking past Derek to head to my car as the sun starts to set, turning to look at him one last time.

“Make sure you and Scott are ready for what’s to come.”

Walking away, I make my way to my car.

The energy the nemeton tree is giving off is no joke.

Lost in my thoughts, I notice I’ve gone off course.

Instead of turning back, I let my instincts take over and guide me to the source.

Once I reach my destination, I realize where I am.

“Maybe regrowing this thing was a mistake.”

In front of me was the cause of all the chaos in this town.

“The Nemeton tree.”

Standing at an enormous height, with branches that looked like they would snatch you away at any given moment.

Shaking off the uneasy feeling, I head to my car as it starts raining.

On my drive back home, I notice a red car parked on the side with two familiar females panicking next to a dog lying on the ground.

Pulling over, I get out of the car to check on them.

“Allison, what happened?

What’s wrong?” I asked a crying Allison while Olivia was trying to grab the dog and put it in their car.

“I-I was driving, a-and I took my eyes off the road for 2 seconds, and I didn’t see it running into the road.”

“It’s ok, calm down.

We’ll take it to the nearest vet.” I approached the injured dog.

“RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF.” It barks defensively, making Allison step back in fear.

” It’s ok she’s just scared,” I say to calm Allison, and Olivia takes her hand to comfort her sister.

“That makes both of us,” Allison said.

Placing a hand on the dog, taking a bit of its pain to calm it down.

Lifting it, I put it in the back seat of Allison and Olivia’s car we make our way to the nearest vet, the rain pouring down hard.

I get out of my car and approach the twins’ car to grab the dog while Olivia goes to the door and knocks, trying to get the attention of whoever’s inside.

Scott opens the door and leads us to the operating desk.

“Thanks, man, and sorry to cause you trouble,” I apologize to Scott while he treats the dog’s broken ankle.

“It’s ok it’s only a broken ankle, nothing serious.” I nod.

Heading to check on Allison and Olivia.

“I’ll go check on the dog.

Call me if you need anything.” Olivia says, then heads to the dog and Scott.

“I’m sure I look stupid right now, huh.” She mockingly says, “Why do you say that?” I ask.

” Cause I acted like a total girl.”

“But you are a girl,” I say with a warm smile.

“I’m tougher than that.

Well, at least I thought I was?” She says with a sad look on her face.

“Crying doesn’t make you weak, y’know.

It means you’re acknowledging your weaknesses and growing stronger.”

“I’d probably bawl my eyes out if I was in your shoes, like full-on tears and snot nose.” Allison laughs at the thought of it.

“There’s that beautiful smile I was looking for,” I say, looking at her smiling face.

“I’m drenched, and I smell like wet dog.

I’m far from that.” I head out to my car, fetch her my hoodie and towel from my bag, and offer them to her.

She heads behind the counter to change, then comes back with her hair still wet.

Pulling the towel over her head, I dry her hair off while staring at her beautiful brown eyes.

“Like I said, beautiful,” I say as I place my forehead on hers and get lost in her mesmerizing eyes.

This is my first-ever cliffhanger.

I hope I did it right.
