Su Jiuyue was still worrying about what to do when the man beside her walked to the wardrobe, opened it, took out a paper bag, and tossed it onto the bed.
“Change into these.”
Just two words, yet his tone left no room for refusal.
The bag was open, revealing a pale yellow floral dress, a blue knitted cardigan, a pair of black leather shoes, and even socks and undergarments.
In truth, when Huo Zhixing had woken up that morning, he realized he had enjoyed the best night’s sleep he’d had in three years. He felt refreshed in a way he hadn’t experienced in ages.
Looking down at the little woman sleeping in his arms, her fair face was flushed with healthy color. She had clearly exhausted herself and was sleeping so deeply that nothing could wake her.
Only when he accidentally brushed against her injured ankle did she frown slightly before drifting right back into deep sleep.
Huo Zhixing gently released her. For the first time in his life, he took the initiative to rummage through the cabinet for medicinal liniment, sat by the bed, and carefully applied it to her swollen ankle.
His large hands gently massaged the bruised area.
Perhaps it hurt, because she let out a soft whimper, rolled over, and promptly fell back asleep.
His gaze then landed on the pile of torn clothes scattered across the floor. Recalling what had happened that night, an unusual trace of embarrassment appeared on his normally stoic face.
He quickly gathered the shredded clothing and stuffed it into the wardrobe. After glancing once more at the naked woman sleeping peacefully on the bed, he locked the bedroom door and personally made a trip to the supply and marketing cooperative.
Her clothes had been ripped to shreds. There weren’t any women’s clothes in his house, and he couldn’t exactly ask someone else to buy them for him, so he had no choice but to go himself.
In nearly thirty years of life, it was his first time shopping for women’s clothing.
He lingered awkwardly inside the store for what felt like forever. Finally, under the astonished gaze of the sales clerk, he paid for the items with a dark expression and practically fled the place.
After returning home, he even sneaked the purchases into the wardrobe like a thief, afraid someone might catch him.
Su Jiuyue stole a glance at him, secretly thinking, He may look cold, but he’s surprisingly thoughtful.
But when her eyes landed on the underwear inside the bag, her cheeks instantly turned scarlet.
Without daring to inspect it any further, she lowered her head and murmured softly,
“Thank you.”
She truly hadn’t expected such a tough-looking man to have such a considerate side.
Feeling awkward, she cautiously raised her eyes. The instant they met Huo Zhixing’s gaze, she quickly looked away again and stammered,
“Um… Commander… could you step outside for a moment?”
Seeing her shy expression, Huo Zhixing suddenly recalled how passionate and proactive she had been that night—and how thoroughly she had left him flustered.
For some reason, merely thinking about it stirred an unfamiliar heat within him. On impulse, he decided to tease the little woman in front of him.
Crossing his arms, he sat down on the edge of the bed instead, his deep eyes fixed directly on her without the slightest intention of looking away.
“I’ve already seen everything there is to see.”
His voice was lazy, carrying a hint of satisfaction.
“And now you’re suddenly feeling shy? Isn’t that a little late… my fiancée?”
Su Jiuyue’s face grew so red it looked ready to drip blood.
This man really wouldn’t let it go.
He never missed a chance to remind her that she had called herself his fiancée that night. But she’d only said it because she’d had no other choice.
Still, she was living under his roof now. There was no point arguing with him.
Biting her lip, she simply turned her back to him and hurriedly began unbuttoning her shirt.
The shirt slipped from her shoulders, revealing a large expanse of smooth, jade-like skin.
Yet scattered across that snowy back were countless vivid purple bruises.
Most striking of all were the two distinct fingerprints at her waist—silent proof of just how wild and passionate they had been that night.
The memory made Huo Zhixing’s Adam’s apple bob.
His gaze instantly darkened.
That familiar urge—to destroy everything—surged through him again.
A dull ache spread through his head as the manic restlessness raced like electricity through every nerve.
His Adam’s apple rolled once more.
His headache had returned.
The violent, destructive agitation coursed wildly through him.
Before he knew what he was doing, his burning hand wrapped around her slender waist from behind, and the completely unsuspecting Su Jiuyue was pressed down onto the bed.
“Mmm…”
Startled by the scorching heat of his hand, she instinctively tried to pull away.
“Don’t move.”
His voice was so hoarse it barely sounded human.
Instead of letting go, his hand slid slowly upward along her slim waist. With a touch of possessive force, he drew her firmly against him.
Their bodies fit tightly together.
Su Jiuyue could clearly feel the rock-hard muscles beneath his uniform, along with his rapid, heavy breathing brushing against the sensitive shell of her ear.
“C-Commander… my clothes…”
she reminded him nervously.
The dress was pinned beneath him, and she feared it would be torn apart again.
Huo Zhixing closed his eyes.
His Adam’s apple moved sharply as he fought to restrain himself.
Only after a long while did he slowly raise his rough fingertips to her waist and back, carefully finding the zipper and pulling it up bit by bit.
The coarse pads of his fingers brushed lightly along her spine, sending a shiver through her entire body.
“My fiancée…”
His lips hovered near her ear as his low voice turned dangerously soft.
“I’ve already seen every side of you that night.”
“You’d better behave… otherwise…”
He never finished the sentence.
But Su Jiuyue’s legs went even weaker.
Bonus Mini Theater
Huo Zhixing stood in front of the counter at the supply and marketing cooperative.
The sales clerk asked, “Comrade, what size are you looking for?”
Keeping a completely straight face, Huo Zhixing raised one hand and demonstrated.
“About… this big. Big enough that one hand can’t quite hold it. Soft to the touch.”
The sales clerk’s face instantly turned bright red.
“…You hooligan!”
Commander Huo: ???
Was that not the right size? Did I buy one too big… or too small?
Looks like I’ll have to measure it myself when I get back.
