At night, while Ren was “sleeping,” the black cat finally made its move.
The small creature quietly slipped through the bathroom window, landing on the floor without making a sound.
Its paws barely touched the ground as it moved through the dark house, its bright eyes scanning the surroundings while its supernatural senses confirmed that nobody else was awake.
It already knew where Ren’s bedroom was.
The door was slightly open, allowing the cat to slip inside without making the slightest noise.
Moonlight entered through the nearby window, casting pale shadows across the room as the black cat approached the bed.
Ren appeared to be completely asleep, lying comfortably beneath his blanket with his breathing slow and steady.
The cat climbed onto the bed and stared at him for a few seconds.
Then it leaped directly onto him.
A strange purple light suddenly surrounded its small body.
The transformation began.
Purple energy flowed across its black fur as its tiny body rapidly grew larger.
The shape of the cat stretched and changed, its paws becoming slender arms while its feline features disappeared beneath the swirling light.
Within seconds, the black cat was gone.
In its place stood a beautiful young woman.
She had long, dark hair that flowed down her back, framing a youthful and surprisingly delicate face.
Her eyes were sharp and intelligent, carrying a faint golden glow that immediately betrayed her supernatural nature.
Two pointed cat ears remained atop her head, twitching slightly as she adjusted to her restored form, while a long black tail swayed slowly behind her.
Her body was slim and athletic, dressed in a dark outfit that allowed her to move freely.
Despite her human appearance, there was something distinctly feline about her movements quiet, graceful, and predatory.
She looked down at Ren.
For several seconds, she simply stared at him.
Then a small, mischievous smile appeared on her lips.
‘So this is the so-called Kuoh Hunter.
You caused quite the big stir in the Underworld and other realms.’ she thought, studying him carefully.
Before she could even do anything, Ren calmly opened his eyes.
His glowing red eyes immediately met hers.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
Kuroka was still sitting on top of him, her black tail swaying lazily behind her while her cat ears twitched in surprise.
‘This is just like that wet dream I had back in my original world.’ Ren thought, staring at the unexpected situation.
The two continued staring at each other for another moment before Kuroka suddenly leaped backward, landing several meters away with surprising grace.
Ren slowly sat up in his bed and rubbed his eyes.
“I was starting to enjoy that, you know.”
Kuroka’s lips curled into a playful smirk.
“Really?
Well then, go back to sleep and I’ll continue.”
“I’m not tired anymore,” he replied as he climbed out of bed.
Kuroka tilted her head slightly.
“Well then, I can fix that.”
The moment she finished speaking, a thick white mist began pouring from her body.
It spread rapidly across the bedroom, swirling around the furniture before completely filling the room.
Ren stared at the strange mist.
He looked genuinely confused.
“Did you fart?”
Kuroka’s expression twitched.
“Can’t say I’m not into that.”
The mist quickly swallowed the entire room, making it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead.
Kuroka smiled confidently.
‘That takes away your strength and also puts you to sleep.
I’m sure he’s strong enough to negate some of the effects, but not completely.’ she thought.
She waited.
Nothing happened.
Then suddenly, a hand wrapped around her shoulder from behind.
Kuroka’s eyes widened.
“Your farts smell like roses,” Ren said casually.
For the first time that night, genuine shock appeared on Kuroka’s face.
She immediately tried to dash away, her body moving with the speed of a supernatural being.
She didn’t get far.
Ren’s grip remained firmly locked around her shoulder, stopping her effortlessly.
Kuroka struggled for a moment before glancing back at him. You are reading on g.com, the official source.
“You’re not going anywhere.”
But Kuroka wasn’t going to let him capture her that easily.
The playful expression disappeared from her face, replaced by a much darker look.
The next second, a magic circle suddenly appeared beneath Ren’s feet, glowing brightly against the floor.
Ren glanced down at it and simply shook his head.
Bwoom!
A massive blast of energy erupted from the magic circle, completely engulfing Ren before shooting straight through the ceiling.
The force tore through the roof, sending debris flying into the night sky as the entire bedroom shook violently.
Kuroka stared at the destruction with a satisfied smirk.
She immediately reached up, trying to pry Ren’s hand from her shoulder, but his grip remained firmly in place.
Her smirk slowly disappeared.
As the energy blast finally dissipated, the smoke and dust began clearing.
Ren was still standing there.
Completely unharmed.
He simply shook his head, looking at the massive hole in his ceiling.
Unfortunately, his clothes hadn’t been quite as durable as he was.
Kuroka’s eyes slowly traveled downward before her face immediately turned bright red.
She quickly looked away, suddenly finding the ceiling far more interesting.
‘Is he secretly a dragon?
If so, then I really stuck myself in some shit.’ she thought nervously.
Ren glanced down at himself before looking back at her.
“Well…
this is awkward.”
Kuroka remained silent.
Ren finally released her shoulder.
The moment he did, Kuroka vanished or at least, she tried to.
She took several steps toward the door before suddenly finding herself standing exactly where she had been moments earlier.
Her eyes widened.
‘What?!’
She immediately tried again.
The result was exactly the same.
No matter how far she attempted to move, she somehow returned to the exact same spot as though the world itself refused to let her leave.
Ren didn’t even bother watching her.
He casually walked toward his closet with his back turned toward her before grabbing a fresh pair of underwear and some clothes.
Kuroka tried running again.
Once again, she found herself standing in the same place.
Her ears twitched nervously.
‘What kind of ability is this?’
Ren calmly finished getting dressed before pulling his gaming chair toward the middle of the room.
He sat down, resting his arms comfortably while staring directly at her.
The playful atmosphere from earlier had completely disappeared.
“Now tell me,” Ren said calmly.
“Why exactly have you visited me?”
Kuroka’s smile faded.
“Don’t leave a single detail out,” he continued, his green eyes glowing faintly.
“Otherwise…”
His expression became completely serious.
“…you won’t walk out of here alive.”
The atmosphere inside the bedroom changed instantly.
The temperature seemed to drop.
An overwhelming pressure descended upon Kuroka’s body, forcing her muscles to tense as her knees nearly buckled beneath her.
Every instinct in her body screamed at her to run, yet her body refused to move.
The air itself felt heavy.
Kuroka’s playful demeanor was completely gone now.
‘I think it’s smarter to talk.
If he really is a dragon, then he’s obviously not weak by any means.’ she thought, swallowing nervously.
She slowly raised her hands in surrender.
“Well…
I was told to come check on you by the higher-ups of our organization.”
Kuroka continued.
“Apparently, in a few days, a big shot from the Underworld is coming to check on everything that’s been happening around Kuoh over the last few years.”
Her expression became slightly more serious.
“The disappearances.
The Stray Devils.
The Fallen Angels.
Everything.”
Ren’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“The same thing is apparently going to happen with the idiots in Heaven,” Kuroka added.
“Except they’ll only be sending the Pope.”
Hearing that, Ren slowly nodded.
It wasn’t exactly surprising.
In fact, he already knew.
Still, knowing something through his ability and hearing it directly from someone involved were two completely different things.
He leaned back in his chair.
“I see.”
Kuroka watched him carefully, trying to figure out what was going through his head.
Ren simply stared at her.
“What’s your organization called?” Ren asked, leaning back in his gaming chair.
Kuroka opened her mouth to answer.
Before she could say anything, Ren suddenly turned his head toward the window.
The sudden movement confused her.
‘He’s certainly weird.’ she thought.
Then—
KINKLING!
The bedroom window shattered violently.
A wooden staff shot through the broken glass at incredible speed, flying directly toward Ren before embedding itself into the wall beside his head.
Kuroka’s eyes widened.
She immediately recognized the weapon.
Ren calmly glanced at the staff sticking out of the wall before reaching over and pulling it free with one hand.
He examined the strange weapon for a moment, turning it slightly in his hand.
“Nyoi-bō?”
His eyes shifted toward Kuroka.
“You guys work with the Monkey King?”
Kuroka’s expression became slightly awkward.
“Well, not him exactly.
More like a really annoying rip-off.”
“Hey!”
A voice suddenly shouted from outside.
The next moment, the owner of the staff leaped through the already broken window and landed inside Ren’s bedroom.
Dust and small pieces of shattered glass scattered across the floor as the newcomer straightened himself.
It was none other than Bikou.
Ren stared at him and Bikou stared back.
Kuroka sighed.
“Here we go.”
Ren casually held the staff out toward its owner.
“You dropped this.”
Bikou snatched it back immediately.
“I didn’t drop it!
I threw it at you!”
Ren shrugged.
” I would have much rather you say you dropped it”
Bikou narrowed his eyes.
“Is there something you’re going to do about it?” He asked as he smirked.
Ren’s expression remained completely calm.
Kuroka slowly stepped away from the two of them.
‘Yeah…
this night is getting worse by the minute.’
